As a fellow thin hair girl - you look freaking gorgeous today with the hair down. You look stunning everyday of course but I want you to know I appreciate what it takes to deal with the thin hair and make it cute!
the elf roller lash dupe is actually working well for me, i brush it through thoroughly, do two coats, and pinch my lash clusters to be kinda anime-points and I love it. my lashes are medium length and slightly curled/not super straight, so maybe that helps.

It’s supposed to be used in combination with the loose powder. You are supposed to apply the pressed on top to brighten and add a “healthy sheen” back to the skin 🙄
Thank you for not doing as much that disclaimer bull shit. Who cares if someone doesn’t like something? I love Theresa is Dead’s approach, she’s like “if you don’t like something or get mad that I like something, I don’t fucking care.” 🤣
Cant stop laughing! Your humor just comes out non-stop at full speed! Wow! It’s so good! My visual brain pictures it all! The product “whispering affirmation words to your oil glands!!!” and it just goes on!!! It was the best entertainment!
That Kosas foundation was probably the worst foundation I’ve ever tried, not only because of the glitter but it amplifies every single pore on your face. Also, agree about Glow Recipe strawberry drops - did absolutely nothing for me. I’d like to add the Merit tinted lip oil as a dishonorable(?) mention. Earlier reviews on Sephora included pictures of mold growing inside the cap. I had it for about two months until I noticed a mildew-y smell from the applicator.
Since you enjoy Lauren, I think you might also like Charlotte Holdcroft’s roasts, particularly when she does her “don’t buy this, you don’t need this” videos.
I am verrryy sensitive to glitter particles in lip gloss (even the Patrick Ta bugs me a little), but I tried one of the shades of the new Too Faced Kissing Jelly Oil Glosses, and it is *so* nice! It manages to be genuinely glittery while still feeling completely smooth and comfortable. I can't even remember the last time I bought a Too Faced product lol, but I'm a big fan of this one.
Just watched your video on the worst products of 2023, and I found it really insightful. Your honesty in sharing your personal opinions and experiences is so helpful, especially for those considering these products. It's important to remember that everyone's skin type and preferences are different, so what might not work for you could be perfect for someone else. Looking forward to more of your reviews and shares in the future!
Girl it is sooo hard for me to wear sunscreen too. One of my reasons is I literally spend 4 minutes total outside a day in the winter 😂😂 but even in the summer I feel so stubborn about it. I have to basically bribe myself. I wear it on my body so willingly but I hate it on my face.
I'm 53, pale-light, and I'm not obsessed with signs of aging but I wish I didn't have splotchy skin. I wore body SPF when outdoors, and face SPF daily from 19 on, but I never understood about "real face SPF" cuz they didn't sell anything but body sunscreen, tanning oil, & oil of Olay SPF 15 where I lived once I heard about this. I figured I must be using the right stuff. I was not. If you have even a skooosh of vanity, wear the proper sunscreen year round. Any place there are windows, you're getting damage. Now I even watch my hands, can't keep them constantly spf'd but I do ok. Only like 7 spots! I don't mind my wrinkles so much, but the polka dots are 👎.
I like these videos because I feel like social media makes us think we "should" like or buy a product just because someone else did. I have to say that products meant to act as primers usually don't deliver very well for me. The very shimmery ones like Glow IV, make it look like I covered my entire face in a glittery highlighter...which makes me feel a need to put a foundation on every inch of my face just to tone that down. The silicone-based ones tend to look really good right after application, but often cause pilling throughout the day or are occlusive enough on my skin to cause breakouts.
Shadow sticks were totally my jam this year. Thrive was OUTSTANDING. I liked colourpop and NYX and HATED Elf(dry as the desert) you looked lovely today. TFS
I literally LOL’d at Oxidation Station! 😆 So glad I didn’t try that one! Also you are spot on with that Josie Maran Cleansing Oil. I tried it so many years ago…terrible! Literally the worst. Does nothing. I mean even oil will remove makeup but that stuff…I don’t know what was happening. 🤷🏼♀️
I think the blur drop are a serum, not a makeup product. After using it for weeks I don’t even need to wear a base anymore. Someone asked me what foundation I was wearing today and I was able to reply “none”.
But I thought the same thing before I had the product and read the ingredients. I realized it reduces pores over time, not instantly. Product is definitely not packaged in the best way but if you use it like a serum it’s amazing.
I have a liquid blush that even pours itself out when it's upright with NO pressure. It's LA Colors tho (USA dollar tree & big lots brand, the "cheapest of the cheap"), and it's a really beautiful shade & formula, so i forgive them lol. But above this price point, I HATE PACKAGING THAT BASICALLY REQUIRES WASTE!!!!
Pro sunscreen tip from my dermatologist. Apply while naked in the shower and make sure you get your armpits, backs of knees, tops and bottoms of feet. I have systemic lupus and have to wear sunscreen all over every day of my life. I asked my doc how to apply. Her answer was any place you put soap minus your privates.
Hey, start off with the worst (we know what to avoid, so our year is going to start better) And... you can be on an upgrade from here (hopefully 😊)👍👍👍👍💋
I was hesitant to try the lash n roll but that one worked well for me. The other elf one in a rose gold tube was awful ! But what works for one may not for others but I love hearing peoples opinions and experiences to gauge if I might want to still try it or stay away!
I love the Lash N Roll mascara too. It's currently the best thing I have ever used on my lashes. The brush works the way I need AND they actually make a true brown color. I'm super pale and my lashes are naturally a pale, cool-toned blonde. I need brown mascara and it can be so difficult to find brown. Not black-brown. I need brown LOL!
I hate dipping into lip scrub too, btw, elf lip scrub "bullets" are awesome AND yummy, but i am super cheap & use them up fast so Ive found the unflavored Dollar Tree version (lipstick style, avoid their too-liquidy tubes) works well, once you warm it up and use the very top layer, which is just wax. Just use 3-4 layers the first time, and then it's great!
I love them too. Never just throw them away when the bullet is gone, always pop off the sample color square at the bottom, because there's a little sample size in it! I love that too.
I was thinking the other day I was hoping you would roast Sephora’s sale / clearance again soon but this works too!! 🔥 Do I want a Lauren Mae declutter?!?!? YES PLEASE!!! Your last one has entertained me through many work days and put me to bed many nights. 😂
Your new hairstyle is darling! 🤗 Thanks for the great video! It makes me sad to think how much money you’ve spent on all of these products and they’re disappointing. Happy New Year!!!🎆🎉
As an 80’s baby I can’t get behind flat hair, even though I was only a child at the time.. i will never stray from big hair. Every time I see flat hair like this I’m like Omg girl how big do you want your head to look?! Pls dear buy a teasing brush 🙈 I have thin hair too there is ways of making it look thicker 😉💕😅
Alexandria Ryan will still be opening hers for another month or more btw, she mostly just opens & reviews boxes of some sort, she has two charming pups that are on camera a lot, and you'd probably enjoy her as well as our dear Lauren, who's also getting kinda famous among other creators for her perfume videos!
Love your hair. So attractive. I had good luck with the second Kosas product you mentioned but that’s probably because I have very dry skin. You’re right about Korean sunscreens. They’re the absolute best. Take it from a more mature (read old) fan: I wish I had used sunscreen much more when I was younger. You will never regret it. Keep up the good work! Happy New Year.
I really don’t like Charlotte Tilbury cosmetics wasted too much money on trying way too much of it ,to just end up leaving it all outside with free to whoever wants it note on it ,better than it rotting in my cosmetics draw .
The Bobbi skin tint did exactly the same thing to me!! and I have extremely dry skin. No matter what I did it just did not work for me at all. I am so happy to hear I wasn't the only one with that issue!
The only skin tint I can bare to use is the Rimmel kind & free one. So glad you shared your thoughts on the Bobbi Brown one... I would have been tempted by that! I used to love the face base but my skin decided to become too sensitive so now I just stick to my glow recipe dew drops and sunscreen as a base. I tried the new MAC serum and it is WAY too expensive for zero results. Such a waste :/
The rose inc duo reminded me that I want the auric shadows so bad. Idk if they’ve restocked or anything and I haven’t ever heard many people talk about them but they have me wrapped around their finger.
I love glitter lipglosses but some are so sharp and gritty they hurt my lips like a cheese grater. I'm scared to try new ones? I appreciate you bringing it up in future which are smooth or not so I can buy more confident 😁
I had the opposite problem with squeeze tube lip products - specifically a lip oil - it was so messy and leaked all over the glass jar I keep my lip glosses in. I ended up tossing it. Now it's doe foot applicators and bullets or nope. Have you tried the MD Solar Science BB cream? It's SPF 50 and is silicone based (I know not everyone likes that feel,) but for a one and done makeup primer/moisturizer/spf, I really like it.
I totally agree about the Bobby Brown face base. One of my faves! I haven’t tried the skin tint but gonna skip that. I’ve heard other influencers talking about that Gucci foundation, the HUDA Beauty pressed powder, and the glow recipe drops as well. Most with the same issues that you have had with them. For the benefit roller lash or the the elf lash n roll mascaras, I use them for bottom lashes only, and to separate any clumps I might get in the top lashes with the top lash mascara I’ve applied. That’s the best way I can see to use it. I really enjoyed this video. I’m glad TH-cam recommended it to me. New subscriber😊 I hope you have a very happy and healthy 2024! 🎊🎆🎈
I just got the elf lash n roll in the mail today because I've been dying to try it to see if i like it the way i like benefit's roller lash and/or lancome's idole mascara. Fingers crossed i like it for the price, but your review has me apprehensive now. 😅
I love the Josie Maran cleansing oil! Most nights I double cleanse with just that (use the same product twice) and skip moisturizer, but still use Vasseur Skincare eye cream. About once a week, I use the cleansing oil a single time, following with diluted castile soap then eye cream and jojoba oil as moisturizer. I have 'normal' skin and live in NY.
i bought the glow recipe blur drops a month ago and the packaging is so bad. the product leaked with the cap on and i wasn’t able to use half of the product due to it. and also, the logo completely came off in a week and every time i used the product i would have tiny pieces of sticker that was a struggle to take off my hands.
Unrelated comment…. Your shade iridescent shell from sea talk, I’ve been obsessed lately! Using it with mauves or plums in the crease and then Iridescent Shell over lid, gives pat McGrath Bridgerton diamomd of the first water palette vibes! OR!!!! The shade Snowbow in ND Xenon, iridescent shell is like Snowbow but way more!
I’m so glad you found the Huda pressed powder not so good. I thought it was just me! Lol. It’s so bad. I wanted something for in the go but you are so right, it doesn’t come out, it’s pressed to hard. I had to use my nails to loosen it but even then it’s too chunky. Yuck!
The huda is not a setting powder! Or the pressed powder version of her relugar easy bake. It is, as described by huda herslef, a brightening powder so it is supposed to go on top of setting powder
Not to defend the metallic freckles at all (because LOL wtf is that), but I think you’re supposed to flick the brush so it splatters on your face to make “natural” freckles.
I love so many of the summer fridays products (the lipbalms, the gel moisturiser, the vitamin c serum, the spf milk, love it all) so i decided to give their skin tint a try and i despise it! Its so oily, it pills over everything (even my other SF products!!!), and the coverage is super patchy. I tried it multiple times and just decided to throw it out because i could not make it work (i had to put sooo much powder over the top to reduce the oil slick look that i may as well have just used a powder foundation ngl). Other than that I'm kinda meh on the spf stick i tried from tocobo, it pills a bit but i do love it for reapplying during the day. I definitely want to try some other spf sticks this year!
I got the huda pressed powder and what’s so weird is it barely picks up product on my brush or the sponge it comes with yet when I put it on my face it feels soooo heavy and I truly don’t understand why
I’ve moved on from the Rose Inc cream blushes but their tinted brow gel is the GOAT. I’ve used it for over a year now and my brows have never looked healthier. I barely have to fill them in anymore. ❤
I put my glow recipe cleanser in a different packaging with a pump and that was the ticket for sure to use up the product and not have it be annoying as heck
I love the Trader Joe's gummy bear lip balm, but the flavor is so intense! And even though I like it a lot, it's definitely a lot some. Definitely don't wear it around meal times 🤣
I agree the watermelon dew drops are great. I will say I like a lot of what I have tried from glow recipe but not everything. And I liked the original watermelon ‘mask’ better than the reformulated version. I also don’t know if my nose has changed (maybe, especially considering how my tastes in fragrances has been changing) but I don’t smell the watermelon in the reformulated version
I feel the same way about the ND highlighter and the Huda pressed powder. Textures absolutely make a huge difference with lip products. Have a great weekend ❌️ ⭕️
Thanks for the video. I buy alot of what you recommend and now I know what not to buy and girl I love your look and your hair, so cute. I really like it down.😊
Worst product by far for me was the Kopari lip cloud. Idk what is in that product but it made my lips peel for weeks and seemed to damage them. It took forever to recover lol
Yay! A Lauren May revelation video of bad products! All the motivation I need to get ready for my last night shift of the week, knowing I have this waiting for me on break. Missed you, Lauren! Happy New Year🎉
I’ve been noticing not just crunchy lip balms and oils but pilling lip products and stuff that just overall feels nasty on my lips?? Idk what it was but 2023 was NOT a good year for anything lip 😭
I haven't tried much makeup this year & the few purchases I made were super well-researched, so... I was generally spot-on about whether the products would work for me or not! But I had a couple noteworthy duds. 01. Nyx Brow Glue - I'm a soap brow, Easy Breezy Brow kinda guy, so I have high expectations for a product that will keep my brow hairs groomed & in place. This stuff just felt like slime & didn't lift my brow hairs at all. 02. Ami Cole Lip Oil - I KNOW, BLASPHEMOUS, BUT HEAR ME OUT!! I was expecting an incredibly moisturizing lip oil... What I got was a sticky gloss. I actually kinda like a sticky gloss when they're actually long-wearing, so it would have been a win had it marketed as a lip gloss! But after it wore down, my lips were dry AF & it fails as a hydrating/moisturizing product.
“They gifted me this so sorry but please don’t make this anymore” had me dying you are genuinely hilarious. Also completely agree on the bare minerals blush highlighters they were not it for me
What got me was: “It’s like these products are whispering affirmations to my oil glands to keep going, girls, keep producing” 💀 I tell ya, I chortled
She is one of the high priestesses of shit-talking beauty products. 😂🤣
You have a turn of phrase like no other. “Affirmations to my oil glands”. Pure gold 🥇🥇🥇
As a fellow thin hair girl - you look freaking gorgeous today with the hair down. You look stunning everyday of course but I want you to know I appreciate what it takes to deal with the thin hair and make it cute!
Literally came in the comments having watched 9 seconds of the video just to comment on how great this hair cut looks on her
As a thick hair girl.. please take it away from me. I've always been dreaming of having thin hair 😭😭😭
The Kylie lip gloss wand was such a specific flashback that unlocked a memory 😂
the elf roller lash dupe is actually working well for me, i brush it through thoroughly, do two coats, and pinch my lash clusters to be kinda anime-points and I love it. my lashes are medium length and slightly curled/not super straight, so maybe that helps.
I like it too! It definitely doesn't curl as much as other mascaras, but the staying power is great, and there's a brown shade.
I can't get past the Rose Inc packaging. Don't care how good it is, not using toilet seat blush lmao
Is it weird that I don't even wear makeup or care about skincare, I just watch because I like your vibes??✨ Anyone else??🤔
I'm the exact same

Unrelated comment…. Your shade iridescent shell from sea talk, I’ve been obsessed lately! Using it with mauves or plums in the crease and then Iridescent Shell over lid, gives pat McGrath Bridgerton diamomd of the first water palette vibes! OR!!!! The shade Snowbow in ND Xenon, iridescent shell is like Snowbow but way more!
That Lottie freckle cracked me up. “Do you not have enough shimmer fallout? Let us help!” Nah bruh. Hard pass.
I’m so glad you found the Huda pressed powder not so good. I thought it was just me! Lol. It’s so bad. I wanted something for in the go but you are so right, it doesn’t come out, it’s pressed to hard. I had to use my nails to loosen it but even then it’s too chunky. Yuck!
The Ami Cole loose powder is amaaaaazing, so blurring
😂😂😂😂Angelica’s doll hair😂😂😂😂😂 wtf is that wand??
Lmaooo you have become one of my favorite TH-camrs I love your commentary😂😂😂😂 crisco LOLLLLLLL
Lauren, I love your honesty and also ....your facial expressions.
try adding setting spray just to the bare mineral blush highlights to make it less powdery
I think your supposed to (splatter paint) brush the bristles with your finger onto your cheeks. For the metallic freckles frayed brush
The huda is not a setting powder! Or the pressed powder version of her relugar easy bake. It is, as described by huda herslef, a brightening powder so it is supposed to go on top of setting powder
The elf glow screen is the same for me, soooo greasy
Elf has a chartreuse green eyeshadow crayon that is good
Not to defend the metallic freckles at all (because LOL wtf is that), but I think you’re supposed to flick the brush so it splatters on your face to make “natural” freckles.
I don't like glitter in my foundation either, so thank you❤
I got the huda pressed powder and what’s so weird is it barely picks up product on my brush or the sponge it comes with yet when I put it on my face it feels soooo heavy and I truly don’t understand why
I agree with the strawberry 🍓 glow recipe drops. They do nothing :(
Rose inc has amazing lipstick and blushes. However the brow gel, mascara, tinted face serum and facial toner were a miss for me.
I didn't like the glow recipe primer-thing but I love the strawberry salicylic acid serum.
I’ve moved on from the Rose Inc cream blushes but their tinted brow gel is the GOAT. I’ve used it for over a year now and my brows have never looked healthier. I barely have to fill them in anymore. ❤
Thank you for saying that about the elf mascara! It got great reviews! And I don’t know why. It didn’t work for me at all.
I put my glow recipe cleanser in a different packaging with a pump and that was the ticket for sure to use up the product and not have it be annoying as heck
The elf lash and roll mascara was one of my fav purchases of the year! Sorry it didn’t work for you!!
Vieve has amazing eyeshadow sticks
I love the Trader Joe's gummy bear lip balm, but the flavor is so intense! And even though I like it a lot, it's definitely a lot some. Definitely don't wear it around meal times 🤣
Rant is great, anytime a year! 🖤
Cutie Pie hair! I have super fine hair, oily large pores and similar coloring so I'm always interested to hear anything you have to say!!
Always down for a declutter!
Was so ready for a worst video already lmao thank you - seriously I trust your experience!
Love your hair...that cut is super flattering on you!
Love your take-how can these brands put out such duds. Your hair is on-point!
Your hair looks gorgeous! Just started watching your videos and this is the first one with your hair down!
I feel the same way about the ND highlighter and the Huda pressed powder. Textures absolutely make a huge difference with lip products. Have a great weekend ❌️ ⭕️
Can you do a full face of these or other makeup you hate?
Thanks for the video. I buy alot of what you recommend and now I know what not to buy and girl I love your look and your hair, so cute. I really like it down.😊
Your skin looks amazing here!!! So smooth🎉
You are always mentioning that you don't like your hair but it is soooo cute down!! Never seen it that way before.
Omg the sparkle freckle thing 😂😂😂I love these videos and you’re so funny 💀 shame on you, Gucci! 🧐
Your hair looks so fresh and cute!!!!!!!
Love the hair. You look amazing today! Love and appreciate the reviews ❤❤
But after it wore down, my lips were dry AF & it fails as a hydrating/moisturizing product.
i missed u!! yay new upload :D
