I'm so, so glad I found you I had been a MUA for 7ish years before having a complete burn out (that with talking to lots of other artist, when the influencer boom happend many artists became SO overwhelmed trying to keep up. Lots gave up) I didn't even want to look at makeup. But recently, especially since finding your channel, I've remembered how I loved things like single shadow looks. I now realised that I very much was feeling make-up became to hard and you've reminded me that it doesn't have to be.

As someone who has always had wrinkly eyelids (seriously, at 12 I have the eyelids of a 50 year old), the VB liners have been a revelation. If anyone else has the same issue, these are really worth the splurge if you're on the hunt for a reliable, easy but beautiful liner (though I'd wait for a sale!) They give such a consistent line, no skipping, they blend out great when wanted and they stay put. I'm sorry your order didn't wow you!
I totally agree about the eye liners. I have similar issues with my eyelids and the VB kajal liners are the best product I've ever tried. So easy to use and smudge out. Love them! I haven't been wowed by anything else from VB though. The bronzer is fine, the eye brick is nice, but not amazing.
I agree with you about all her makeup. I'm 53 and have droopy lids and wrinkles and the VB line is excellent for me. I got the lid lustre in Mirror for when I want super shiny eyes (rare) and the other ones are just shiny enough without drawing attention to those lines. I have a few of the liners and they're usually enough to shape & smudge for a one and done look (Sea Grey is my favourite). As for the caps, just remember, the pencil is the one opposite the coloured band! 😁
I think she needs to give them another go..sometimes we have such high ideals, that we over expect...I think that's what happened, because I loved the look.❤
I love the entire VB line so much. It definitely feels so luxe in my hands. I agree the lid lustre is kind of hard to sheer out, but the way I use it (pretty much slap it on with my finger) it works for me. I've found it hard to pick up with a brush and the saleswoman at Bergdorff's said the lid lustre is really meant to be applied with your fingers. And I am OBSESSED with the mascara. IMHO one of the best mascaras I've used. For me, the whole line is my current aesthetic and vibe. Love it.

I thought they show beautifully on so many skin tones, which as a dark skin woman that's something I look for. The lid lusters are sheer and can be built upon, I should point out that the formula has the lid because it like a creme hybrid and has oils. It's also infused with crystals hence the price point. I agree on the liner tops, it is for the seal but it's weird.
For me I usually go to luxury makeup for packaging and shades. The more expensive brands seem to have more nuanced shades that are hard to find other places.
I know the Lid Lustre isn’t your favorite formula, but your eye look is GORGEOUS! I have the other three as well and I enjoy them too! I wish PML had come out with a taupe type color in her Chromaluxe new shadows.

I love the VB kohl eyeliners as they are creamy enough to tight line on sensitive eyes and will dry down-although I do put the wrong cap on the wrong end at times =} I also really like the bronzer brick, lip liners, and posh lipsticks. I’m sorry your first forage into her brand wasn’t completely successful!
I have the lid lustre in mink and what I love is the fact that it’s opaque. You just put it on and it is very impactful and sexy. I always feel confident with this Smokey eyelook 😊

You’ve explained the shadows in a way that I totally get what you mean and what they’re like! Like I can picture it. It’s like certain shimmer shadows found in expensive palettes but much more of a drier formula than the typical pot shadow which is like a wet feeling sheer glossy shimmer. I got the blondie pot. I use it as a inner corner highlight, chiffon may serve you well there. I struggle with mink as well. Creases like crazy on me. ❤
I collected all the Hourglass equivalents to the lid lustre and then realised when Charlotte Tilbury did some for Christmas that a lot of brands do them. The VB mink reminds me of the Hourglass Quartz but may be darker. I have bought a VB smoky brick to get an idea of what the brand is like before I go for some of the lid lustre. I have a couple of her eye liners and a lid luster and I really like them. I just tried the brand in the past several months. I don’t think I would try anything else from her brand besides the lippies. I do agree with you on the Urban Decay eye liners, they are really great!! The CT singles are awesome too and that Moira shadow looks so breathtaking 😮
I wish I could buy them all but as a UD fan, I'd have to say I love VB 's kajal liners (I only have three) and their shadow pots have best formula I've tried hands down on my old crepey eye lids lol
The Kajal liners are on my wishlist and the more I see them used, the higher they get. I love smudgy grungy liner looks and can't seem to find super creamy liners. That look is 🔥 definitely something I would wear.

I agree with just getting 1 or 2 products from this line. I was searching for a sparkly black shadow for forever. And I knew the VB eyeshadow pot is one of them. I've been looking for alternatives because it's so damn expensive. But I failed. So I bit the bullet finally and got the damn black shadow. And I love it lol. It might be the only thing I'll ever get from them but I love it so much.
I don't like the caps on the eyeliner either! You're not alone on that. I do like the eyeliners, but they took me some time to figure out because they were so creamy. The lid lustres have been hit or miss for me. Tea Rose is my favorite. I also love the VB bronzer, blush sticks and lip gloss. I never have opinions on lip gloss, but these are my favorite.
Surprised that these were so pigmented because typically at that price point they’d go for the older customer who like sheer makeup. But tbh you sold me this mink! This shade seems so unique in its opacity and the way it shines. I haven’t seen a taupe like this. Would have loved to see how the other shades look on you!
I have the VB Posh Lipsticks in "Spice" and "Pose". The sticks are very thin and take a few passes to cover the lips which is a little annoying sometimes but I really like the formula. They feel very balmy and they can go on sheer but you can really build them up if you want (which I do all the time). I wear them quite a bit for work and use a lot of passes to build them up and they haven't broken and I haven't come close to using them up. I would really like to try the VB Bronzing Brick.

The only thing I have from Victoria Beckham Beauty is the waterproof mascara, and I LOVE it. It's a very natural looking mascara, adds just a bit of length but separates and defines beautifully. And it's amazing over other mascaras when I want fuller, longer lashes. My eyes water a lot so waterproof mascara is a must for me, and that one's great. Packaging is weighted and makes me feel luxe every time I use it, which is a bonus too.
For not being sure if you're impressed, I love the look you created.. love the dark dark eyes!!❤❤ I'd actually like to see you do more eye looks with those VB eyeshadows, I think you'd get some great looks...
I finally made my first VB order for Black Friday as well. I only ordered the Velvet lid lustre and the Bronze eyeliner. They’re beautiful but definitely more of a fantasy product that’s just good (not out of this world) in real life.
So for some context I'm an olive toned eyeshadow fanatic. I finally caved just before the new year and purchased their trio set of the lid lustre in velvet, eyeliner in sequin green and the mascara (despite not really needing any new mascaras at all -_-) because the set discount got me, and I knew I'd be going on a makeup no buy in 2023 so the VB purchase was basically my last splurge of shiny green makeup things. I love the lid lustre and eyeliner in the olive toned shades I got and don't exactly regret my purchase, but I completely agree that the caps of the eyeliner annoy me a LOT for the same reason and they overall really didn't quite live up to the hype I'd had for months for them. I love textured single pot shadows and was hoping for a more creamy chunky without being too chunky type of consistency and they're definitely not that.
I'm glad I waited on Victoria Beckham. None of those shadows are shades I'm into right now. Especially since I'm obsessed with the RMS eyelight in strobe. It is the absolute perfect shade for me and actually does not crease all day! I've never tried an eyeshadow that doesn't crease. It does fade a little in the crease, but not very noticeablely. I don't love the packaging but it isn't too annoying.
The Lid Lusters have been my favorite since my eyelids are oily and tend to crease but these lasted without major creasing overnight (yes shame on me I accidentally fell asleep with makeup on XD).
Ooff, I was about to place an order for those eyeliners and eyeshows with the thought of one shadow looks, like I do with the hourglass ones but I think you just saved me a LOT of money. Thank you for this thorough review!
I have the 02 lip liner, too and it’s my favorite of all brands. Eyeliners are great. I have a couple of the lid lusters and they run darker than you think. Not really for every day or I just use them as eyeliners. I have the playground blush and it’s a great color. More brown than yours and lasts all day. Thank you for reviewing!
Lauren, you look gorgeous!! I think the products worked well for you. One bit of caution with the eyeliners, if you use them on the inner rims of your eyes, they smudge very/too easily.
Hope the Lid Lustres grow on you since they’re clean beauty and may expire sooner 😅 this look is beautiful btw. The brand definitely gives I’m a stand alone, the only brand you use for mature skin/older people type of brand.
The eye look is lovely - but I think it’s the viseart shadows I’m loving lol. I think those viseart shadows with a maybelline cream shadow on top would look just as good 😮

I just went to shake my Victoria Beckham liner and you’re right it does kinda rattle. I never really noticed that! By the way, I find it hard to sharpen the pencils without breaking the point. I’ve tried with the VB one that comes with it and the glossier one. I think the kajal is just too soft and creamy to really sharpen well sadly
I have a mini powder from CT and it’s in that cheap plastic packaging as well. Granted it’s $25 and the mini so yeah, I expect the plastic package. It’s a different story when you spend all that money for full size product and it’s the same plastic. 😡
Ymmv but I just leave the cap off the smudger end on the eyeliner because it annoyed me to keep opening the wrong side. But I do this on the spoolie side of eyebrow pencils too so I might be a heathen.

Do you have any of the Hourglass pot shadows like that? I have one and I love it. I also have Victoria Beckham x Estée Lauder jelly shadows she released years ago. Those were beautiful but also a pain to keep in one place on my eye. I am surprised the lid lusters were not like those actually. I appreciate the feedback on them though.

I love my lid lustres. I have tea rose, velvet and mink. Also have honey but it sucks!!!! Even with eye primer. Idk what happened to that shade.

I have the 02 lip liner, too and it’s my favorite of all brands. Eyeliners are great. I have a couple of the lid lusters and they run darker than you think. Not really for every day or I just use them as eyeliners. I have the playground blush and it’s a great color. More brown than yours and lasts all day. Thank you for reviewing!

Lauren, you look gorgeous!! I think the products worked well for you. One bit of caution with the eyeliners, if you use them on the inner rims of your eyes, they smudge very/too easily.
Hope the Lid Lustres grow on you since they’re clean beauty and may expire sooner 😅 this look is beautiful btw. The brand definitely gives I’m a stand alone, the only brand you use for mature skin/older people type of brand.
The eye look is lovely - but I think it’s the viseart shadows I’m loving lol. I think those viseart shadows with a maybelline cream shadow on top would look just as good 😮

I just went to shake my Victoria Beckham liner and you’re right it does kinda rattle. I never really noticed that! By the way, I find it hard to sharpen the pencils without breaking the point. I’ve tried with the VB one that comes with it and the glossier one. I think the kajal is just too soft and creamy to really sharpen well sadly
Whenever I have liners like that, the best thing to do, is to put both the liner & your sharpener in the freezer for just a few minutes (

Mink reminds me of Funkytown from the Kathleen Lights pallette she did with IL Makiage called Disco Fox.

I have a mini powder from CT and it’s in that cheap plastic packaging as well. Granted it’s $25 and the mini so yeah, I expect the plastic package. It’s a different story when you spend all that money for full size product and it’s the same plastic. 😡

Ymmv but I just leave the cap off the smudger end on the eyeliner because it annoyed me to keep opening the wrong side. But I do this on the spoolie side of eyebrow pencils too so I might be a heathen.

Do you have any of the Hourglass pot shadows like that? I have one and I love it. I also have Victoria Beckham x Estée Lauder jelly shadows she released years ago. Those were beautiful but also a pain to keep in one place on my eye. I am surprised the lid lusters were not like those actually. I appreciate the feedback on them though.

I have a shadow palette of hers and they are messssssy! Shadow dust galore. 😑
The caps are a nuisance. I always have to yank it and it stabs the eyeliner tip.
