Lauren gives such major BFF energy
Hard agree ❤ she’s the best
A Thousand Percent!!
Honestly
I agree
@@thejulietocean😅
I swear brands should hire you to write the notes for their scented products bc you literally describe smells in a way I can't even understand but yet I totally understand if that makes sense 😂😂
I've never heard anyone say "soiled armpit". Lauren always cracks me up. Love your personality😊😊
🤣🩷
Her thoroughly detailed scent descriptions are my favorite!
The buttered feet smell is probably butyric acid. It's one of the main reasons vomit smells like vomit, so you were absolutely correct. The methylated form is often used in fragrance.
This is fascinating!
Wow. So good to know. Learning the science behind cosmetics, skincare, and perfumes is fascinating! Thanks for sharing 😊
@@Dracarys.. it's a lighter smell which is meant to suggest a milk or butter note. But it's also found naturally in cheap chocolate due to the distance the milk ingredient has to travel from its source to the factories. It starts to sour on a molecular level. Totally wild, right?
And burytic acid is a reason why for many Europeans US chocolate (e.g. Hershey's) smells like baby sick. The production process is a bit different across the pond and there are traces of butyric acid in the US version. US folks are used to it since childhood and enjoy it (or don't notice it), people from Europe are not and when expose to it in American chocolate they are taken aback.
@@Dracarys.. You're welcome! Happy to share nerdy notes haha
"Like pudding under my eyes."
Your descriptions are really second to none. ❤
Yep, i agree no glitter in skincare!😮
Omg girl your description of the Sigma gloss scent has me laughing out loud 😂
Lauren I never leave comments but I want you to know I love all of your videos you’re the best 😍😍
came to say this 😂😂😂
For any UK people here Wild is our version of Native and the deodorant is pants I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, it's like applying lard to your underarms then it balls up and falls off during the day and half is left in the container you have to dig it out and the one job it is supposed to do it doesn't totally useless :0) xx
Yeh I don't like their deo or lip balm, but love their shower gels, shampoos and conditioners (want more fruity scents though!!)
@@CaitiB Why do so many people rave about the deodorant though Oh right I know they are getting paid.I'm not sure I would bother trying the shower stuff unless they had a big discount.
I like their deodorant 😢 the only thing is I would never use it in the summer because I am sweatyyy. I won't stink with it but it is just a deodorant not an antiperspirant.
I mean I’m from hawaii and a lot of my coworker and myself included love the native deo. Some don’t like it, kinda like skincare and makeup etc, not everything works for everybody. Ps I’m just a normal person who’s a server/bartender, they’ve never paid me to say nice things
@@kilikiana I sorta think a deoderant should work on everyone. Never had one that didn't work till I tried Wild!
Dawn kitchen soap (foam in spray bottle) is the better choice! I don’t have to re-clean my brushes or sponges. I actually wash my sponges before EVERY use. Gotta get it wet anyway 😊
Spraying brushes and sponges with hypochlorous acid spray is a safe way to disinfect, especially sponges. You don’t have to rinse and it will not hurt your skin. This a dermatologist recommendation.
I don't do dish soap. I use shampoo (because I always go through conditioners faster, so I always have more shampoo than I want). Gets through a product I'm trying to use up and cleans well without me buying something specific.
i can’t get the dish soap out of the brushes. 😂
@@AdriannaGreenuse a basic shampoo
I use a foaming hand soap and a cleaning rubber glove that has ridges on it. Soaping it up and rubbing it on the soft ridges gets it all out.
@@BlowinFree If you have natural hair brushes, you could also use a moisturizing shampoo. Will keep the bristles slightly softer.
The tree hot shave oil is more of a gel consistency than oil, and I find it works super well and doesn’t gunk up my razor at all, I highly recommend!
Tree Hut is underrated
I also love the Treehut shave oil I ran out and I need to get more!
Same❤❤❤
Best brush soap I found is the African Black soap from Ulta. Takes old discoloration stains out and brushes feel brand new.
I'm a big Cinema Secrets fan, because it deep cleans SO well and dries in less than a minute, but the alcohol content is so high that I don't want to use it every time I clean my brushes. I'm always on the lookout for a cleanser to use in between deep cleans that'll help keep my brushes moisturized, so I'm going to pick this up tomorrow afternoon!
Oh is it the shea moisture one?
I am a brush collecting and cleaning fiend. The Shea Moisture African Black Soap bar is my holy grail!
@@daniellefaluski7353 yes
Dr bonner, or bronner (whatever, can't remember) from Target is a cheap soap that takes all the makeup off sponges and brushes. It's so good.
“Where’s the buttered feet, I know it’s in here.” I’m dying 😂
Clip the "Where the feet at?" part lmao
Watching while suffering with insomnia and good lort when you said buttered feet, I actually laughed out loud. Quite a feat, no pun intended 😂
You roast products like no other and I'm always here for it 😂
Buttery feet vomit, dishrag lash glue---- your scent descriptions of the things you dont like could become a stand-up act. Truly, comedy gold! Thanks for the laughs...and the warning! I was about to blind buy the SaltAir body duo in Santal Bloom, so youve saved me there. I will wait until i can smell it in person before spending the money. I typically love a good creamy sandalwood and the thought of it had me swooning, but if its not a "creamy" sandalwood then i doubt it would be for me either.
Do you have any perfume regrets or things you don't love from your fragrance collection? Id love to see a video like this on the fragrance channel! ❤❤❤
Oh my goodness STRONG AGREE on the Glossier cleanser I cannot stand it! Gets off literally nothing. I’m meticulous about my skincare routine and I do double cleanse, but even as a second cleanser it’s a hard no from me.
➕ I had the same experience
It’s definitely for dry skin, not for make up removal.
It doesnt even smudge the makeup it does so little. Its a waste of time and money 😭
i love an unscented goats milk bar soap for all my brush and sponge cleaning! natural and synthetic hair brushes, it’s fabulous for both. very deep clean.
@@imperfectlyEm I have some I wasn't sure how to use up, this is great!
Good luck with your move! I move in 3 weeks and I’m very stressed lol so glad to have your video to watch to relax a bit!
Thank you!! 🩷 I hope your move goes smooth!! lol it can definitely be stressful!!
Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser used to be amazing. It became a victim of Glossier’s constant reformulation and now everyone hates it! It doesn’t work anymore.
Best wishes for a smooth move! Love how it motivates one to declutter. ... btw, Not sure I would want a body scrub in a glass jar in my shower. ... Native shampoo leaves my hair lifeless. Save your money.
When she tapped it with her nails it sounded plastic
I'm 90% sure the native shampoo and conditioner made my hair fall out. My boyfriend's daughter used it too and she shed so much more hair than normal. I tried using the conditioner to shave my legs with and it irritated my skin.
Stopped using it 2 months ago and my hair is slowly growing back. I had to get on minoxidil just to combat it and get my hair back thick again.
I feel like only influencers are keeping Native afloat because honestly I’ve tried their stuff and it’s literal trash. And everyone I personally know has agreed. And don’t get me started on their Girl Scout Line!!!! Who the hell wants their pitts to smell like peanut butter!!!!!????? Literally no one with a sane mind.
I don't like it either, if I get a body wash at wal mart or something while I'm grocery shopping I like the new Olay bodywashes, the collagen one is my fave.
Lauren the Davines Oi shampoo and All in one milk is for thick curly frizzy hair. You should try the DeDe or Solu shampoo from Davines.
I needed some LMB in my life today ❤
😊🩷✨
16:00 when I tried a tester of the supergoop unseen sunscreen in Ulta, I immediately had to run to the bathroom and wash my hands. It was a sensory NIGHTMARE. It instantly turned me off from any silicony primer sunscreens like it, like the elf one
Same! Applying it for the first time made my skin crawl. Turns out all the supergoop sunscreens ended up giving me major ick. I never want to feel that on my face again.
it's interesting to see people having this reaction to supergoop bc the unseen sunscreen is one of the only face sunscreens i can use lol it has a weird hand feel when you first apply it but it doesn't have a harsh sunscreen smell and it feels really matte on my face rather than greasy which is why i like it. i guess it really depends on the person!
It's...nasty
@@breensproutseriously, it's my FAVORITE sunscreen ! I think it feels amazing and it is great as a primer.
I love the sephora liquid brush soap. It works amazing 😊
I will have to give it a try at some point!! Hope you’re doing well!! 🩷😊
I agree! It’s very good
Hi Lauren, just wanted to say I have super fine, short blonde hair too so even though I'm here for the makeup content it's a nice bonus when you do mention hair products! 99% of them just make me oilier so you help me know which ones to avoid 😊
More fine thin hair content is most welcome! Desperately need help in that area 😁
I agree... I'm not suffering through using things that are not serving me. If it's no good... it's a loss. If I can't give it to someone that might like it it's trash. I'm moving on to products I like and love that work! Life is too short to "put up with" things... move on to things that do you right!
Wishing you the best with your move!💜
I total agree about the Sigma brush cleanser. I was surprised how underwhelming it is.
"Where's the feet at?" LOLOLOL! I can't with your descriptions. Love this so much, literally clicked and squealed when I saw your dot beside your name. Love your honesty, and hope the move goes well.
Hi I hope you have a wonderful day! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on products it’s very fun to watch!
I hope you have a great day!! Thanks so much!! 😊💕✨
Sunday Riley Good Genes with Lactic Acid is where it’s at. I have sensitive skin and it’s one of my holy grails I won’t be without.
Same!!!
The best brush cleaner I’ve ever found is Dawn liquid. I always keep a bottle in my bathroom
Instead of the Good Genes I’d recommend trying the Peach & Lily Lactic Acid Cocktail serum instead. Not only is it a pretty solid dupe it’s also much more affordable ($51 vs $85) and actually a bit superior imo.
You can get that same Fenty packaging in their lip mask, if you someday want that cute packaging but not the eye cream 🤣. I really like the lip mask.
Lauren you absolutely Crack me up 😂
The Josie Maran is a pretty universal bad one, I think you are liike the 4-5th person saying the same thing.
The worst part isn’t even the smell. The scrubs do not scrub at all and leave a thick, buttery sludge on my skin.
I’ve spent an embarrassing amount of money on Josie Maran products, believing that I was missing out or not using them properly. I then learned that they’re just crappy. There were 2 products I liked, but when I tried to repurchase them, they were discontinued. Must not have been that great, because now I can’t even remember what they were. 🤷♀️
Can you believe it's almost september?!! Are you going to do advent calenders again this year? I really enjoyed watching you open them last year. You became my only calendar channel!
Not the advent calendars already!!! 😅😱
@@maryeckel9682 I just saw a video in my recommendations of a girl already opening one. Lmao 😂

If you want some bomb candles, Target's Opalhouse candles will fill up the entire house! They are so good, and the big ones are $10!
With you on the glitter - gimmicky addition that does nothing for the skin. At $160 dollars I expect your formulation to do the talking!
I bet that was the rose quatrz
Omg yes! Keep your cheap glitter and give me quality products!
Omg I am dead at your, “where’s the smell of feet at cuz I know it’s in there” 😂😂😂
Thanks for the reviews. There are way too man cosmetics brands; for skincare, I stick to French Pharmacy and Quebec Pharmacy: Avène; Bioderma; Cétaphil & Caudalie. I'm also fed up with how many makeup brands there are.
I just switched to Korean Skincare and I will never buy American skincare ever again.
Hi,, the tangerine body lotion smells awesome! Give that one a try,, the other two suck!
Omg I work at an aveda salon and spa and they brought davines in this year. The scent makes me think of OFF bug spray with deet 😅 I cannot handle it
Hi Lauren! Just wanted to let you know TH-cam has been unsubscribing people again! I just checked to see if I was subscribed to you & i wasn’t!!! It’s happened on other channel’s too! Just a heads up!😃
This is great information to have! Thank you for sharing. I appreciate your take on the haircare especially. I have fine hair with an oily scalp too. The double shampoo to conditioner comment was so relatable. Haha.
Shampoo: nickel
Conditioner: dime
(Short thin oily-ish hair)
dove beauty bar + a little scrubby brush cleaner bowl from shein is the best brush cleanser don't bother with anything else. it has oil in it that breaks down the makeup but is gentle enough not to damage your brushes. never bother buying anything else.
Native body lotion is THE WORST. IT PILLS. WHY.
Good that you point out the difference between the US and the EU version of the Good Genes serums! They are quite different since the US version is lactic acid and the EU and U.K. version is glycolic acid. And these two acids work very differently on the skin. Lactic is a lot milder as it doesn’t go very deep into the skin. Glycolic acid is the smallest acid molecule which penetrates deep into the skin. Which also can cause more irritation for people with more sensitive skin conditions.
The reason there are two different versions is because the European Union has a strict limit on how much lactic acid a product can contain. And the good genes one contains more lactic acid than would be allowed to sell as skin care in Europe. And since the U.K. was still part of the EU when Sunday Riley wanted to launch their good genes for the European market they also were included in her launch of the glycolic version. I think I saw an interview with Sunday Riley on why they chose to create a glycolic version. And if I remember correctly I believe she said that she chose between making a new product with glycolics and lowering the amount of lactic acid in the original good genes and decided that creating a different product was better as she was happy with the lactic acid one as it was.
Having tried out both I think they are worlds apart. The lactic acid one is quite gentle on the skin but still does a pretty good job exfoliating the skin. The glycolic one is not kind on sensitive skin and will probably work best on quite resilient skin and skin tolerating stronger glycolic acid products well. On me I find it way too irritating to use. ❣️
Aw, I *love* the scent of the Davines 😂 love that all in one milk, it's great on both mine and my daughter's hair.
Lauren, I love the lactic acid good genes… it was my favorite skincare product ever… until I tried the lactic acid serum from the ordinary! I actually prefer that and it’s much more affordable :)
My fave lactic acid products are the Farmacy Honeymoon Glow & Good Molecules Overnight Exfoliation serum. I'll never be able to justify $42 of my own money for a skincare product, but if I get a gift or another deluxe sample, I'm gonna be excited, hahahah
@@ZijnShayatanica honeymoon glow is discontinued I believe. Sadly.
I love your glasses!
Thank you so much!! 💕😊
Love the smell description!! I tried a cleanser that smells like an old canvas tent! Fail...
so to my strange nose 9/10 times anything that claims to smell like vanilla usually just reads as "feet" or plastic toys from the 90s to me, whether applied to my skin or one someone else's skin. Unless it's like actual culinary vanilla. I don't know why. I'm sorry to all the gourmand/vanilla girlies, your tribe is not my vibe, but hey, more for the rest of y'all!
Try the Eos vanilla cashmere lotion ❤ i don't usually like vanilla but this one is heavenly. And you can smell before you buy cuz you can get it at wal mart. I've gotten so many "you smell so good" compliments
I was just thinking one of your videos would be a welcome treat today. I hope your move is easy and stress-free!
Love your honesty
❤refreshing!,
Yeah!!! Needed this! ❤❤

I love the Josie Maran body butters. They firm your skin right up!
the vanilla josie maran scent smells fishy to me! absolutely hate it lol
Now you're making me want the shimmery 111 skin thanks friend😂😅😂
Excited to be so early!! After so long watching you, I trust your opinion! Thanks for the great video as always 🫶
Lauren I love watching your videos! Thank you for being my self-care TH-camr 💖 Miss Elevated Essentials!!!
Oh that's so funny I actually loved the sugared crust body wash lol The way you describe it is surprising and I wonder if you got a bad one haha I'll have to resmell it if it comes out again but I finished a couple bottles last winter haha
Lmaooo your descriptions for scents has me dieing! 🤣🤣🤣 and YES 1000% can't get on board with native products! I've tried most of their stuff and it's just not that good tbh. Their deodorant was the absolute worst for me though! Literally, 20 minutes after showering I would smell like I hadn't showered in weeks. Sooo soooo bad! The only aluminum free deodorant that's ever worked for me is lume
Hey Lauren you don’t have to limit actives, honestly they do the work. Maybe try PHA instead of AHA and BHA. PHA is for sensitive skin, the molecules are larger which means it penetrates slower unlike an AHA and BHA. Products with PHA is the watermelon toner from glow recipe and inkey list has a PHA toner. Dr Jart+ also has a PHA serum.
Please, a video for thin hair girly!
My skin cannot handle glycolic acid. Changed my skin when I stopped using it. lactic acid is effective but gentle
What is your lip combo? Your blush also is perfection!
You are in the right field, your descriptions are next level and really paint the horrible scene 😂
I LOOOOOVE the ELF sunscreen. I don't mind how it feels, all sunscreen has an annoying feel. It absorbs in my skin pretty quickly and works well with my makeup. Could be because i have dry skin though.
You have been the best at describing scents. Been loving your fragrance channel. I love the tree hut shave oil. I don’t shave very often either.
The Josie body scrubs - I agree! They do not smell right at all
Omg I love josie Maran products
omg your complexion is flawless!
Thank you for saying that about the Native body wash and the line!! I have tried two different body washes now, and they suck. They suck, period. The scent is so light, it barely can be smelled while using it. And you definitely can’t smell it on the skin afterwards. It’s not a luxurious body wash, it doesn’t make the skin soft or anything. I actually like the cheap ass Dove scented liquid body washes better than that frickn Native. Every time I see them all lined up, looking all nice at the store, I just want to roll my eyes at them 😂🙄
The new Olay bodywashes are nice. They smell great, lather up good, and actually soften your skin so nicely. It's my favorite cheap bosywash. The collagen one is my fave so far but I want to try the retinol one when I run out.
The “Topless Tangerine” scent for the Josie Maran scrub is amazing! It’s much more moisturizing than the sugar tree scrubs just fyi
Your makeup!!! I love this soft focus look ❤
Thank you! I thought I was the only one not in love Native. Everything is just ok.
i loved the Sunday Riley lactic acid serum. i got it in a subscription box. it lasted forever and i was sad to see it go. i haven't tried the glycolic acid one tho.
i get so much skincare in my subscriptions that i pretty much never rebuy anything aside from cleanser, but I'm always trying new stuff. of all the brands I've tried i think the only one id really want to buy from is Elemis. it is just so high quality and scents and textures are always top notch 🎉
I am so excited for your move. You must have something drawing you away to a new place. I KNOW moving helps me declutter!!!!
I almost went all-in on the Josie Maran collection when it dropped. Love a dodged bullet. 😅
Lactic acid is WAY better than the glycolic. It hydrates too
The Tree Hut shave oil is great!
I love the Sunday Riley Good Genes (US). It is one of my favorite serums ever. You should try that at some point when you are ready. I find it very hydrating, and my skin doesn't have an issue with daily use.
Milky Jelly is my favorite morning cleanse!!! Super gentle but enough to get off my skincare from the night before!
😂😂😂your scent descriptions have me rollin!!!
So weird because the Josie Maran lotions are literally some of the best I’ve ever smelled!
i was so glad when you brought up the hair gloss. just dimethocone in a bottle that makes my hair feel weird. i hate her!
Native Powder and Cotton Bodywash is amazing!!!! The coffeehouse collection they did was also amazing.
12:16 it’s giving glam glow hahaha
I wanted to love the native deodorant, but there is something in the formulation that makes my underarms itch. The fragrance options are okay.
I’ve never used Native, and not sure of the ingredients, but if there is baking soda in it, that could be the culprit. I started using more ‘natural’ based deodorants a few years ago and wondered why I itched so much with certain deodorants. My dermatologist told me that baking soda can be irritating to underarms. I haven’t had any issues since I’ve stopped using deodorants with baking soda. Or it could be something completely different, but thought I’d share my experience. Sorry for the long reply 😂
@@sydney88888 Thanks for the information. I'd have to re-look at the ingredients, but if there is baking soda, that's probably the irritant. Native is so expensive.
@@valerieP1968 You’re welcome! And yes, Native is expensive!
That glossier cleanser is my absolute favorite!

Lauren you sure the fenty thing is an eye cream? nm I was confusing it with my lip mask which I find too think I should not have listened to the sephora girl on that recommendation
Thx for the info and good luck in your upcoming move! That is such a stressful event!!
Thank you for your contribution to my society
100% agree on the Sigma brush cleaner. I usually used it only for brushes with light powder on them and used baby shampoo for the rest. 😂 Thankfully I finally used it up so it’s gone!!! 🎉
