You don’t just listen to Chris Stapleton music, you FEEL Chris Stapleton music! You really can’t box him in to any genre. He just has so much soul, blues and pain in his voice. ALWAYS listen to the live version of any song. As others have said, “I Was Wrong” at ACL, “Either Way” on Charlie Rose, “Sometimes I Cry” “Whiskey and You” so many more. He doesn’t do music videos as he doesn’t like the spotlight, but he did do one at the insistence of his label so he put out one official video “Fire Away”. It brings me to tears every time and is meant to bring light to an issue so many deal with. Highly recommend! I love watching people go down the Stapleton rabbit hole. I did the same. I’ll sub and watch you do it as well. Enjoy!!!
He’s effortless. Just so relaxed. No showing off, no dancers to distract, no flashing lights, no stupid runs or pulling faces…nothing but him. Simple. That’s talent.
There's not to many people who actually sound better live than in the studio. Chris simply nails it. And you said he could sing you out of your drawers...lol. I'm a straight 56 year old white boy and told my wife I can't go to any concert of his that comes to town because I'd be throwing my drawers up on stage. Lol!! Chris is the shit plain and simple. Get the lady in the mood with his music. He's a rarity for sure.
I subscribed from your first Chris Stapleton, I highly suggest "I Was Wrong" live at Austin City Limits. He kills it! Also, I highly recommend Allen Stone if you want to be surprised. Brown Eyed Lover, Unaware or anything that he has done will blow your mind yet again. Keep up the great reactions!!
Chris collaborates across genres. He can sing anything with anybody as a true collaborator and does. Also he was first known for his songwriting. He’s a whole story. Btw, he won Best Song and Best Album at this awards.
True story about him is that he is actually kind of shy and it took his wife coaxing him to sing in public, which by the way she is a darn great singer herself. If you will notice early on he always would be looking at her when he sang so he wouldn't be distracted by huge crowds.
There also two one-off covers, filmed by phones in the crowd that will blow your mind: “It’s a Man’s World” cover, he was in the audience and called up and did this, also, “Nothing Compares 2 U” Prince cover that he sang on the day when we all found out Prince died and he was in concert. A tribute.
I have been following him for quite a few years now and I haven't found a miss by him yet. He has two new songs out that are both amazing, "White Horse" and "Think I'm In Love with You."
The other thing about Chris is he was a jock, class President in high school. He was clean cut & you'd NEVER recognize him. He was also valedictorian, so he's smart!! You'd just never know that seeing him now.
Was lucky enough to see Chris live in concert a couple of months ago and let me tell you if you ever get the chance go see him. He is one of the most amazing live preformers that I have ever seen.
Glad you like this song. Chris Stapleton is an amazing singer, but he is almost an even better songwriter. He has written many hits for other artists his song lyrics are everything! If you want to hear something a little more country from him, I suggest listening to the song, “what are you listening to”, I also love the song “either way”. A couple of my other favorites are “starting over”, and “I was wrong”(the song I Was Wrong really showcases his guitar skills).
Chris used to write for other singers but never did his own music until his wife gave him the confidence to go out on his own....and boy are we all grateful for that!!! He's mesmerizing!!🎶🎼🎵🎹🎸🥁🎤🎧🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
🔥 The lyrics His songwriting is off the chain!!!! That voice smooth as butter!!! The guitar 🎸 skills 😮 A breakup is worse after 40 years of marriage and family. I really relate to the shock! He feels our pain because he’s had that pain.
You've got to listen to his new song Higher! Just when you think you've heard it all, he hits you with another vocal that is out of this world. It brought me to tears. I've been a fan for a long time and finally get to see him live in the UK next year! Loving your reactions. You've gained a sub from me 👍
He’s the best singer on the planet. No lypsinc or auto tune like 99.9% of singers today.what we are hearing from him we take for granted. He is definitely legendary.
Try listening to Chris back when he was with a group named the Steeldrivers....a song named CAN YOU RUN takes you on a history lesson with music, pay close attention to the lyrics...wow
Can You Run is an amazing song. Poetry, history, set to Chris' heart-rending voice. One of my favorites. It brings me to tears. The rabbit-hole is deep!
Okay, first, let me say I love your reactions in general, and I particularly like your reactions to Chris Stapleton. From the moment you heard the first few notes of Tenn. Whiskey and you said, "Day-um," I was lickin' my chops in gleeful anticipation of sharing your experience as you got blown away, as I knew you would. And now you know for sure, our boy ain't playin'. I didn't think you were, either, when you said you were going to go down the Chris rabbit hole...and I didn't think you were playin' when you said it again after this reaction, the first time I watched it. So why you gotta be so cold? Why you gotta get my hopes up and then put our Chris love on ice? Maybe you're thinking, "What's she talking about-- I been listening to him..." Nahh...you may think you went down that rabbit hole, but you haven't even begun to get a feel for his range, imho. In order to do that, you gotta watch him do "I Was Wrong"-- till then you can't (again, imho) begin to get his relationship to his guitar(s). You gotta watch him do "What Are You Listening To" to see another side of him, and watch him in the studio with his crew recording "Startin'' Over." You gotta fall out of your chair seeing his depths in " Sometimes I Cry.," and you need to listen to "Either Way," so he can break your heart. All of these have to be videos of his live performances. And..you got to let him take you into other depths, and watch the movie he creates, with "Death Row"-- but the studio version on this one, for various reasons, not least of all so you can be alone (rather than with an audiience, watching him), in the cell, with that man on death row. There's more, but in my mind, these are the basics. Well, these, and maybe the one about his dog, but I've forgotten the name of that one...another one in which it's like watching a movie...with all the emotional ups and downs of a really good movie. Meantime, thanks for another great reaction. p.s. How could I have forgotten? His version of the national anthem that blew the country away and brought pro football players to tears.
@23rdMAB great reaction! Please react to Chris’s cover of “It’s a Man’s World with the Shadowboxers”. He was in audience, band saw him& asked him if he’d sing a song. Crowd picked song. Not his band, no rehearsal & Chris killed it!! I think James Brown would be proud! It’s on TH-cam and it’s a black and white video! It’s awesome!!!
Check Out Chris Stapleton Its a Mans World and Chris Stapleton and Stevie Wonder Higher Ground . Both are Badass . Also , Chris Stapleton Think Im In Love Wth You
I 100% second 'I was wrong' or 'Sometimes i cry. With Chris, always watch the live verison. Or for the next white boy Wednesday have a look at 'Iron sky live at abbey road studio's' by Paolo Nutini, the best voice to come out of Scotland.
He does a cover of It's a Man's World that's awesome!! White horse, Fire Away, the list goes on and on....but, you can't go wrong with whichever you choose!! Great reaction! You have a new sub!
That performance is still one of my favorites from _any_ awards show I've ever seen. Just amazing. Those two brought the house down. "Tennessee Whiskey/Drink You Away - Justin Timberlake & Chris Stapleton (CMA 2015)"
He has a too many good songs to name! Live is always legendary and the video for "Fire Away" brings everyone to tears!! If you do that video please show the message at the end it's important and it's something Chris wants seen. He did a collaboration with Tom Morello from RATM/Audioslave/Prophet's Of Rage on a song called "The War Inside"
Chris just built different! Love watching you discover his talent!❤ " I was wrong" is a great song, you will feel the need to take chris back even though you were never together 🤣

Cry and Fire Away are two favorite songs from him. He can bring a tear to a glass eye with Fire Away. Darn sure brings tears to this old man's eyes.
Truth. Every time!@@1OldBuzzard

What's crazy, too, is he WERITES all these songs, too!! Man is HELLA talented.
Your takes, looking right at the camera, tell the truth in your reaction. He really does sing the hell out of a song.
He’s like a cross between BB King and Hank Sr. with some others thrown in. He’s incredible.
He is an amazing singer.
One of the best. ❤
You need to check out Chris singing the National Anthem at this year’s Superbowl. Once you hear it, you won’t want to hear it from anyone else!!
I am truly loving your reactions to Chris Stapleton singing "Cold"❤❤ it's 🔥🔥🔥🔥
You have to see “I Was Wrong” and the collab with Justin Timberlake live. Amazing
Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton... Say something
Indeed! That's the sexiest colab I've seen...and I ain't even gay!

You have so much more to discover with Chris Stapleton.
Nothing but the blues. There is so much music out there.
What can you say negative about this mans voice.. it's just smooth ... he makes you pay attention!... The more I hear the more I love.

Chris is so unique and special, he’s the real deal!
Chris grew up lovin classic 90s rap. This ain't country, it's straight soul.
