I like your point of view. Chris has written a huge number of songs besides the ones he sings himself. There are 2 more singer-songwriters like this. Rag N Bone Man (Rory Graham) in the U.K. and Avi Kaplan in the USA. Rory even sounds alot like Chris. Try "Human" from him or he does one with Pink "Anyway Away From Here". Avi's voice is alot smoother, he had professional singing training, but his themes are the same and soul the man does have. "Change On the Rise" or "First Place I Go" I'd suggest for him.
