    Correction:
I left out the short-lived Hotak dynasty that overthrew the eastern majority of the Safavid Empire, before Nader Shah conquered their territory and more.

I remember a saying, that had Islam come to the Persians and not the Arabs first, they (the Arabs) would not have accepted it at all. The pagan Arabs were way too egotistical. Thankfully Islam has changed them.
Also, Imam Khomeini (RA) even said, if a nation loses its culture, it has lost everything and has been defeated.

From clothing to cuisine to music. You can truly say that while Islamic culture was Arabic in language it was Persian in behavior.

Hello ! May Allah protect and guide you to his light and happiness in this life and the hereafter, God bless, Ameen. Excuse me for giving a little presentation of Islam, because it is very misunderstood nowadays, especially on those « Antichrist's » times, where media and politics are mixed to distort history and truth. And terrorists (puppets of the Antichrist) who misinterpret verses, out of ignorance and political motivations, and take them out of historical context (just like radical atheists do by the way), don't help either. Thank you very much for your time.
Islam is an arabic word that means the Surrender to the One and Only God, our Creator, Protector, Provider, who gives us life and all that we have, we are safe and sound by his will and grace, we are His and to Him we return, and we have to thank him in this trial life by submitting to him by our free will, or later in the Day of judgment when it's too late to save our own skin. Islam was the original Religion descended to earth from heaven with Adam and Eve (peace and blessing be upon them) in the beginning of humanity. and was passed to people with the succession of the 124 000 prophets and 315 messengers of God to all nations and civilizations since, passing by Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ismaël, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Solomon and Jesus (Peace and blessing be upon them) during the history of mankind, the last replaces and completes the previous, until the succession of the last messenger of God fourteen centuries ago, Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) to complete the noble morals of all mankind, to bring humans and jinns out of darkness into light, and to purify people's religion and belief from corruption and polytheism, and return it to purity and true monotheism, like it was in the times of the prophets (Peace and blessing be upon them).
Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI).
Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy.
Allah said in Surah Al-Ikhlas : In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful.
Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” (1-4 / Translated by ITANI).
Allah said in Surah An-Nisa : O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God. Never did the Christ feel too proud to be God's servant, nor do the angels who are near unto Him. And those who feel too proud to serve Him and glory in their arrogance [should know that on Judgment Day] He will gather them all unto Himself: (171-172 / Translated by Muhammad Asad).
Allah the Most Merciful said in Surah Ali-Imran : Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning!
Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures.
Verily, as for those who deny the truth of God's messages, and slay the prophets against all right, and slay people who enjoin equity - announce unto them a grievous chastisement.
It is they whose works shall come to nought both in this world and in the life to come; and they shall have none to succour them.
(19-22 / Translated by Muhammad Asad)..
      Salam (Peace) ----------

I dont know if this was done due to the fact that at time Iran was constantly at war with european empires such as Rome and the producer of this video is biased because of that. Otherwise any fair person would dedicate as much time to pre islamic iran as islamic. There are so much detail! The whole European and Greek culture is shaped around those events.

There seems to be a pattern throughout the history - no matter what civilization conquered Iran, they all seemed to assimilate to the Iranian culture and were pretty fond of Persian language. I wonder why? Was Persian poetry really superior to Arabic one?

Yeah in some parts but what made every conquer of persia(Iran) attracted to persian culture is the culture and nature of the persian(Iranian) people. They are really calm and intelligent people. Their beautiful art especially poetry is loved throught the world. Some of the must loved poets are persian like Rumi. Plus they are good at assimilating conquers from the greeks to mongols and the persian culture and language always become the way of life of the conquers. For examples when the greeks conquered Iran under Alexander the great, they adopted alot of persian customs. Also Alexander married persian princesses.

The biggest loss to mainstream/Sunni Islam was losing the Persians to Shia Islam. It saddens me when I think about it! They did so much for Islam. The Islamic Golden age of Knowledge was because of the Persians. I'll even go as far as to say that once the Persians became Muslim, they served Islam more than the Arabs. They are a higher form of civilisation. They are really clever. Even today, look at the way Iran operates in the region. Very cunning! Very resilient! This is the Persian soul that they inherited from their ancestors.

Even if Iran was Sunni I believe the same problems would've been taking place today, except without the excuse of the Shia label, the excuse that iranians are persians and non arabs would've been the political drive. Otherwise I agree with you 100%. These petty differences need to be set aside.

      3. he says shah was the puppet of the U.S and had a brutal police force which are baseless claims, shah was an ally to the west but built a very good relation with the east against U.S's will, didn't become best buddies with soviets, but made peace and started trading with them and made sure there's not gonna be a threat from any side for the other (apparently puppets make deals with their master's enemies), and actually there is proof that jimmy carter's administration orchestrated the 1979 riots and pictured khomeini as a charismatic leader with BBC's help. and carter refused to accept shah in u.s after his exile (except for a few weeks in a hospital and treating him like a captured criminal) even when they knew he had cancer and at best had only 2 years to live

Monarchy is the best! My god do you ever look at yourself and realize that you're a total loser? You support monarchy in the fucking 21st century because you lack the personal responsibility to make your own decisions and get scared by people fleeing war and destruction because they speak a different langauge. You're unable to seize your own destiny and instead rely on outdated "tradition" to gain a sense of self. Look at the world around you! Everywhere people are seizing the opportunities and through strength and wisdom are creating a new world that they have the vision to see. You are completely lost behind the cart and instead of being part of this you are a pawn of the wealthy elite who stubbornly try to prevent this world from being born. They will fail but you don't have to be their loyal lap dog, you can regain your independence and take part in this transformation. Or you cannot and you'll throw away the only life you will ever have being little more than a sandcastle trying to stop the mighty ocean.

@حالمي من حالمين The Persian language is way older than the arabic language, and it was used as royal court language for almost 1200 years. Many Arabic, Turkish and Indian royals spoke Persian exclusively because it was considered a royal language. By the way, while Farsi does have some arabic words, Dari (Afghan dialect) is almost completely pure Persian. And Farsi and Dari speakers can communicate with ease, so arabic didn’t really change much. Finally, arabs were nomads when Persians built empires. Didn’t you look at the video? They also lost a lot more wars then people realise. When Parthia fell to the Sassanids, Rome had created a monster in its own image. This quote I heard a while ago describes them perfectly

In absolut monarchies like this turkic states the ruling dynasty is the owner of the state and all the country , the state/country was their property! For example the state and all country of saudi arabia belongs to the saudi dynasty! But a choosen leader of democracy is just an official.
All managers are Turks.you're talking about a single foreign ruler.each country can have 2-3 foreign rulers.but you cannot say a single Iranic ruler in the state you call me.
There are 20 races different rulers from the United States. Now I ask you, were there rulers from different societies in these states?there wasn't, right? All managers were Turks.in order to be as you have said, 20 different races rulers should have emerged !
show me a single persian ruler in these states? Is there a single persian ruler in Khwarazmian state? There is not a single person, is there? Is there a single persian ruler in Seljuks state. There is not a single person, is there?and there is not a single Persian ruler in the empires established by all the other Turks, Mongols, Arabs and Greeks.and none of these states see themselves as Persians, they are influenced by culture, which is also very natural.you are thieves who steal the past of other races.and none of these states were Persia. The example you have is that the American example is too stupid to give you an example.because even the name of that state is AMERICA.The state does not change under the control of a foreign state, but you are trying to steal all non-Persian states who are strangers to the founders.Persians have not been state-owned for 1200 years.First of all, the Persians did not manage any of these states.None of these states set up Persians.

    • @KingExituS
      @KingExituS 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Di Vepets Not really, Communists would do anything to push the agenda of their own political party while Mossadegh served Iran, followed the national interests, that's the true definition of a Nationalist!
He might have been slightly left oriented, but he was the head of the National front of Iran.
Many believe ''Mossadegh bein a Communist'' was a rumour spred by the British to make the Islamists stop suporting him what actually finally led to his downfall.

    • @0249er
      @0249er 6 ปีที่แล้ว

Firstly if you truly believe communism is the best way for the people of your country and he certainly had left leaning ideas like workers rights, healthcare for all and nationalisation of resources that could best serve the nations in government hands rather then privet free economy company's. Then I think you are a nationalist, he put himself at risk to improve the lives of people in the country.

    • @KingExituS
      @KingExituS 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

0249er There is no doubt that Sattar Khan's effort for bringing in Constitutionalism in Iran were of high value, however his rebellion has only political aspects. Mossadegh also played a major role in improvement of Iran's economy by his efforts in nationalization of Iranian oil industry. He managed to make Iran a constitutional monarchy, even if only for a short period of time, his state was the closest thing Iran ever had, to a modern democratic country.

Only thing that stopped the different empires of Asia minor from expanding into the India were the Himalayas.

    Fantastic video Epimethus.
I really enjoyed your breakdown of the background of old persia. The detail you went to here was wonderful to see.
Some corrections I would offer is that the Ghaznavids did continue to rule their Eastern territories, even after the Seljuks took over, and these later gave way to the Ghurid and then Indian Mamluk Sultanates.
I'd also say that the administration of Seljuk Iran, while there was a certain degree of "Steppe Appanage" governance imposed, did remain fundamentally Persian, like before, since we have the names of great Persian bureaucrats like Nizam al Mulk and others, who remained the governing body of Iran, and became the governing class of Seljuk Anatolia.

Much is left out and negative.
At the beginning of his rule, he was weak but after 1953 on wards, he became more in hand in the decisions and progress of the nation.
Its even fair to say that the cities built under him have largely remained unchanged and his progress in modernisation one of the greatest Iran had seen.
