Good unboxing Chris, I really liked that you went over the battery charger, as I'm thinking of adding the air 3 to my fleet, and found the charger was not included, and you are the first to talk about it. thanks for the info.
Larry, thank you for your thoughts. I think the the DJI100w charger is a pretty good value considering that similar chargers from Anker or Ugreen are about the same $100 price. I have numerous chargers around my office and house but I wanted to get the DJI charger if for no other reason than to review it on TH-cam. Anyway, glad to hear you are thinking about getting the Air 3 it’s definitely an amazing drone! Thanks for watching!

Thank you for the comment! Just in case you didn’t know, this is an older drone and not supported by DJI any longer. You can find them one may or Mercari but they aren’t sold new. It’s still lots of fun the fly though and the camera is good but not great.
Nice detailed unboxing and comparison. I like how you did it in sections, very well done. Iv wanted a M3 and then the M3pro for 107 work but it was a little out of my budget. I have had the Air 3 for about a week and a half. Coming from the Air 2 this drone is a massive upgrade for me. Couldn't be happier. Thanks for sharing! 👍 Btw nice office 👍👍
I definitely love Mavic 3 Pro. But I think the Air 3 will turn out to be a great drone too. I hope you can use yours for your 107 projects, hope it does what you need it to. I'm actually in the process of setting up an office/studio of my own. I would love to be able to work from home at some point and just fly and do 107 and photography work full time. *I really liked the Air2S bag as it has a chain. So it feels more secure. The Mavic 3 and the Air 3 bags are tend to open up sometimes by mistake.*
I agree, and a good point I hadn’t really considered that Air2s bag is more secure. The Mavic3/air3 is nice but it might open inadvertently much easier.

Good video, I just bought the DJI mini 3 pro before this drone was released and I’m not sure if I regret it since the camera quality is the same? But I really like the obstacle avoidance in this drone.
If you are really having 2nd thoughts about the Mini 3 pro are you able to return it for a refund? If yes then you might consider it and buy the Air 3. But if you can’t return it then you shouldn’t regret it at all. The mini 3 pro is a very capable drone - flight characteristics and camera. I currently own 9 drones (and countless others that I’ve sold) and my mini 3 Pro is one of my favorites of all time.
You could also consider the Mavic 3 Classic or Pro to complement your mini 3 - if you have the funds for it. If not then be glad you have Mini 3 Pro!! Just my opinion 😎. In any event, thanks watching and for the kind feedback. And let me know what you decide to do.
@@ChrisMitchells_FlyingCameras I was considering to buy the Mavic 3 classic but it would be painful to bring when travelling through airport so I just went with the mini 3 pro and sacrifice camera quality. Thanks for the reply I don’t think I can get a refund now though. New subscriber 🍾

Well done Chris, a really good comparison and Air 3 unboxing and walkthrough. So torn as to whether I should invest yet again!! TBH it’s the regs in my neck of the woods here in the UK, they’re taking a while to settle categorisation of drone, any investment over the next 3-5 years will become legacy classified. I already fly A Air 2S, Mavic 3 and Mini3pro for various scenarios. I’ll take a look after uploading this comment to see if you have done a long term on the Air3, I somehow trust your sincerity and honesty. Oh and like you I have controllers coming out of the woodwork!!

I’m fortunate enough to own the Mini 4 pro and the Air 3 but if I had to choose between the two I would have a hard time deciding. The Mini 4 pro is an amazing drone with lots of tech packed into a small package. The Air 3, on the other hand, is equally amazing on a larger scale. If you decide you want to invest in the Air 3 you won’t be disappointed at all! Hopefully the drone reg situation will settle down for you in the UK pretty soon! I hope to do an Air 3 long term review video soon but I also have several other drone video projects that I’m working on too. I look forward to hearing what you decide on the Air 3.

Both are excellent. Mostly it depends on how much you want to spend. The mini 4 pro is around $1,000 and the Air 3 is around $1,600

Hello, I AM THE OWNER OF AIR 3 AND THE CHARGING IS VERY SLOW. BATTERIES, WHAT IS THE CAUSE?
What is the wattage of your charging block and usb-c cable? Those are the likely culprits of slow charging.
What was your first drone?
My first drone was the DJI Phantom 3 Pro. That was in 2016 and I still have that drone. What about you?

Ok awesome. The first mini was a great drone since it was the first sub 250g drone. I sold my Mini a couple years ago and now wish I hadn’t. I still have my mini 2 though and I’m not selling it! 😎

No power brick… how am i suppose to charge it
I think DJI assumes most folks already have at least one power brick already, which is true in most cases. Apple and Samsung do the same thing, nothing new.

If you have one from your phone or a tablet you should be able to use it to charge the drone batteries. Either way, congratulations on your first drone. Be careful tho, you might get addicted to drones! 😎😎😎

@@ChrisMitchells_FlyingCameras It is very narrow and the propellers are strained when it goes inside the drone. It also does not have very comfortable auxiliary spaces.
@@xhuntergrI can definitely appreciate that! I generally like the DJI drone bags but they always seem to be too small. Same with the new Avata 2 bag, it’s great but a little more space would be better. In my opinion. 😎

The only reason I bought the 100w charger from DJI with the Air 3 was to talk about it in my review video (probably not a good reason, right?). However, I don't think the DJI 100w charger is a good value (sorry DJI!) when a good GaN charger from Ugreen will give much more wattage for the same or less $$. You probably already know this but I thought I would mention it anyway. 👍👍
@@ChrisMitchells_FlyingCameras yeah I noticed Ankr gots a 240watt 1 at $160 and the other 3 at 100 shared..so the bank for the 140 and the controller at the shared 100..and then it has an usb A, which will be nice as I got an mx ergo that can use that and i own quite a few o light flashlights as well..seen the thing get to 130..
I've always noticed these drones when i wander around in bestbuy killing time for work, but never really fancied it. Finally started looking into it..the Air seems like good value. I also plan on buying a Nami Blast Electric scooter sometime this year..probably later half as well..53mph top and about 90 miles range on paper. I figure pairing those two could be a real blast!
I'm going to pretend i never heard of the FAA though. I figure as long as i stay away from airports..ball games and the rose bowl during events..as long with fires and other helis and such..nothing should really happen..from what ive read..people only got dinged when they flew next to blimps or a stadium..which..i honestly cant blame their utter curiosity..but seeing as the fines are 10's of thousands of dollars..id rather not.
A shame they dont provide the charger! Perhaps a 100 dollar credit/rebate would be nice..I mean i get samsung and apple saying..yeah well you prob got one already..but how many people really own charges capable for these gen 4 drones..meh..not a big deal when you consider what im going to spend on these things..is a little weird though.
Anyways appreciate you! I was curious what exactly was in the box! I know samsung likes to give 25 watt cables for their 45 watt capable phones..wanted to make sure this wasnt the same! Thank you!
