Great videos on the planted tank set up. I have 5 aquariums of various sizes & a 70 gallon pond - all planted. Father Fish saved my aquarium hobby life! These tanks are so easy to take care of! In fact, they ALL survived 6 days without power - no lights, air or even food after Hurricane Milton came through. A testament to the eco system of these tanks! Nice response to the viewer with FF concerns, btw. I’ve been following FF for over a year now, and as the Christian preacher he is, never heard him speak unloving toward ‘other’ people. Please keep the content coming! 🪲🐞
Are there any aquatic insects that can be successfully kept alongside tiny fish like guppies, provided the aquarium is densely planted furnished with a lot of hiding opportunities? I really like the boatmen and scavenger beetles.
looks like such a fun project!! I'll definitely need to try this at some point :) What sort of conditions do the boatmen need in order to successfully breed?
I've been learning a lot through setting this tank up for them and tweaking variables. There are now tons of eggs in there and I've seen a couple small hatchlings but I think they succumbed to not being able to breach the film that continued to form on the surface of the tank, being super tiny as nymphs. And so I'm adding in an air stone/bubbler to help keep the water moving a bit and continuously, at least partly, open from film if it happens to build on the surface again. I do have some concerns about adult eating their young and so I'm making frequent looks into the tank now that I've seen some of the boatmen also taking down Daphnia and a couple fairy shrimp I put in there as a test. Other than that, conditions are essentially as the tank reflects!
Awesome!! I still want to do one of these at some point. I love caddisfly larva! How are keeping the DO high enough for them? They need a lot, right? Always find them in riffles.
Hey so a while back you did a video on spiders in your area and in the end you had a massive trap door spider was that found just in your back yard or somewhere in Oregon I would love to get one as a pet due to the fact that I have tarantulas I think this species would be interesting to care for
yo man can u Ship to Australia? I’ve been looking for backswimmers/water boatmen for days but no shops in aus even tho they live global. Is it possible to ship backswimmer to au?!,
While I have nothing against Father Fish's methods, I wanted to make you aware that he has said some rather racist and alarming things on stream before. That said, wonderful video- love a good dirted tank. And you don't often see invertebrate aquatics on youtube. This is great!
I'm sorry to hear that and invite you to send me some sort of proof via email as I like to be mindful of promoting people, and despite watching tons of his videos have never noticed anything questionable in that area though I tend only to watch the edited long format videos rather than livestreams.
Hey - Thinking about ordering from your website. How old are usually the white and orange jumping spiders? It's 18 dollars+tax on your website. I'm prefereing subadults.
Size is clearly noted on the site and sorry but the captive-bred ones are never around long enough to grow to that size. If you can find a jumper for 18 dollars that is subadult and captive bred, the person raising it isn't being compensated for the 8 months they put into the spider and will go out of business 3 or 4 minutes later ;) More than likely subadults that are available are always wild caught specimens, even at $75 each.

Do you maybe ever have any widow spiders available?

Very cool! Ya I’m also curious how the adults will act around babies

Have you ever kept belostomatidae?
yes, I currently have Abedus and Lethocerus and I also have some of the related creeping water bugs.

@@bugsincyberspace Oh, I can't find the size on the site for some reason - if it's not a subadult I still might buy it.
Can you please help me on how to make a nice place for breeding Mantis? I like to keep them as pets
Some update?
Who are you?
lol, Keith! I assume you are making a joke about aquatic insects. Hey, they're still bugs! 😉
