Probably my favorite beetles in the tank, though I love all of the beetles, and that Hydrophilus sp. is pretty amazing (and it also keeps the duckweed under control!)

I'm 44 and people think I'm weird because I'd rather hang with bugs, reptiles, and dogs than humans. 😂 I'm such a nerd, my new buddy is a little cobweb spider I caught in my kitchen. From Buffalo NY I hope all of my fellow bug people have an awesome day.

Is it better to catch or buy one of these? I've got a great enclosure I think would be neat for a small spider. I'd prefer a spider or gecko but I think they need more space.

Sad part about it is the pest roaches of the ones that give these guys a bad name.. I had to put off start my own Dia colony because we had a German infestation pop about from neighbors

Get a specimen from the other gender When you observe breeding behaviour, give them a live tarantula, the female will lay its eggs on it, then remove the parents, but beware in some species of tarantula hawks males protect the brood, so removing the male is optional

There are tons of these guys at my workplace and me (being the custodian), have to unfortunately clear up their webs from the doorways because these little shits are BALLSY and put their houses right in the way of foot traffic. It's such a treat though to be able to watch them come back later on and rebuild.

The wood paneling on the aquarium really sets off the aesthetic too. I like the bug jelly being the food source it makes things so easy.

the stuff in the tube was Superlastic bubble plastic, I loved that stuff. quick question what do I need to do to save these guy and gals that I discovered yesterday in my oldest and largest compost bin. Never Mind I can not find a place to add a photo, I have found what I believe to be 25 Eastern Hercules Beetles in pupa stage. 21 have been removed from their pods accidentally and 4 are still in pods and also one still in grub form. Do i need to create artificial pods for them to complete their cycle?
