After cruise cancelled, and rescheduled in November 2021 ( I actually am relieved, cause believe things will be better then). Then Vegas trip that was scheduled for June of this year, on hold till next year (or whenever shows resume) we decided to take a New Orleans trip for our anniversary (socially distancing, of course) was surprised to see ya'll in this video!! Thanks for the video, originally from Louisiana but around Monroe, Louisiana so doing my research. BTW...If ever in Monroe, Louisiana got to go to the Mohawk!!!!! So good....GET THE GUMBO!!!! :) If interested reach out, and I'll share the recipe (It's a secret, couldn't find anywhere)!! After almost 30 years, we hit on something that was almost identical to the best Gumbo we have ever had!!! I had messed up the gumbo, and my husband had an idea (I was skeptical, but DANG!!) Did I mention...my husband has visited New Orleans more than me?!! Again...Thanks for the video!! :)

We always stay in the business district instead of the French Quarter as it is less expensive. On this trip we stayed at the Drury Inn & Suites. There is a video tour on our channel of this hotel. NOLA is an amazing city!!

ACME is our favorite place to eat in the French Quarter! Char grilled oysters are delicious!

What hotel do you stay in when in New Orleans
We don’t have one specific hotel as we try a different one each time we go. There is not a bad hotel in the French Quarter or Central Business District so we typically let price choose for us.
Deanie's is the best! My wife and I love it. Get the sampler and bring an appetite. My wife always gets the BBQ shrimp. YUMMY!
I loved it when your boys go on a trip and both Jason and the boys always gets comical...boys will be boys. LOL Thanks for the food tours it always exciting to see what's out there if and when I gets to visit LOLA.

Oh the food is sooooo good there! We really need to go back. We did a comparison once of the debris sandwich from Acme and the debris from Mothers. Funny thing is I liked Acme and Jason liked Mothers better.
That Sweet Shop looks awesome!!! I could live on seafood and fish it’s so awesome!!! Fish and seafood is mega healthy!!!
Those potatoes are bomb. I wonder why other restaurants don't follow suit. Rather have this than bread at the table.

Seems like a pretty cool places (Lucy's, Deanie's and the candy store), will have to check it out the next time in New Orleans. Spent our second Anniversary there when stationed at Keesler AFB. (2008) Enjoyed Bourbon St., French Quarters and Riverboat River Boat Cruise
I have never had a bad meal in New Orleans but Deanie’s is one of our favorites!! It is such a fun city, there is so much to do there.
I'll have to check out that candy shop next time in NOLA. Yes ma'am that food at Dinner looks ohmazing. I love it when you say you're from Alexandria one of our biggest UPC churches is based out of there😍💒
Please do, those are the BEST pralines in New Orleans... so good! And Deanie's is one of our favorite restaurants in town! POA puts on some amazing shows!! We went to their Easter show this year and it was beautiful.

Oh glad to help! We just love visiting NOLA!!! It is on Decatur close to Jackson Square and across the street from Cafe Du Monde. There are actually 3-4 of them in the French Quarter.

Oh heck yes! We didn’t make it there in this last trip but have been there many times before. And that pineapple cayenne is crazy... crazy good!! We have a video from a earlier trip where we went here.

Deanie's is amazing! The BBQ shrimp comes out in a sizzling pool of butter, so so good. BTW, one tour you HAVE to try when it's adults only is the French Quarter cocktail tour. If you take it on a weekend, my friend Joe Gendusa is the tour guide and he is a New Orleans legend, the best!
