Hey everyone, full transparency: This video is just the last 3 videos from this channel stitched together. If you have watched any of those videos, it is not recommended that you also watch this one. The intention of this upload is not to trick anyone into watching content I've already shared here. Instead this is an experiment on my end to see how the TH-cam algorithm treats this kind of tutorial supercut. I appreciate your understanding, and you can expect more original content here on the channel in the coming days. Thanks!
really well-made video, there are a shitton of "top 10 pro tips!!" and "THIS is why YOU suck at deadlock" vids going around but this is the first ive watched that's really touched on fundamental macro skills in the different phases. going to recommend this to friends looking to break into mid-level play.
6:00 if you're an especially slippery, but squishy hero this is also a great way to get early mind games going on your opponent and stop them from focusing on creeps in an attempt to kill you. I do this a lot as Ivy when it's incredibly risky and it usually wins me the lane because the psychological damage is just that brutal.
This is exactly what I was looking for! So many tutorials assume a certain understanding of the game that new players just don't have. This has helped me a lot!
The extent of my experience is playing halo way too long ago, and I found this guide to be very helpful. I often find myself down after the laning phase, and your advice is pretty direct and actionable. Thank you very much for putting this together, I'd love to see more content where you break down situations and talk about what your options are, and how you think about them.
I just started playing 3 days ago and one thing about the late game that helped me, (having a bad laning phase, and mediocre mid game using Seven) was the item return fire,it literally helped me to at least compensate for how bad I was at the game earlier.
This was an absolutely fantastic video, thank you so much man. I feel like I learned more from this video than I have from any other video talking about how Deadlock works I’m not sure if you’re checking comments, but I wanted to ask about a specific hero: Pocket. If Pocket is weaker in midgame than their teammates, do they benefit from being in team fights? Or should they be pushing lane? Because I feel like it could go either way. Pocket’s ult can shut down enemy pushes because it does so much damage, but Pocket also doesn’t have any real cc. Just burst damage. What’s the right answer, do you think?
Great explanation, and great info. But if I might make a suggestion, your mouse movement while you're explaining things is very shaky and makes me dizzy.
Outside of your opponents denying souls, you're guaranteed full value if they pop. You dont NEED to shoot at the souls to gain full value, but if your enemies are denying, then yes, it's ideal that you shoot them first.
Dota's Purge and some others call them "kill lanes" when the laners arent trading as many last hits and one team focuses on killing heroes. Usually a kill lane favors the hero that doesnt need as many souls to be effective. I'm spamming Shiv and first 3 levels are a fricking nightmare if the opposing hero is favored matchup and they leverage that advantage.
cant speak for first time watching this video but i always have longer form content on in the background so odds are ill play this video in particular again versus the cut up version
when i don't focus on last hits, they push the minions all the way up to my tower and then start getting me to sub 100 hp while i hide behind guardian or even between guardian and walker
You may have misunderstood me, which is my fault for explaining this poorly. You need to be pushing the wave and trying to last hit, while paying particular extra attention to soul securing and denial. Forgoing pushing or last hitting altogether is a mistake for the reason you describe.
Should note that you dont need to last hit the creeps, you just need to damage them recently, i almost always prioritize harassing the enemy and grabbing orange souls over managing creeps, it’s a great way of keeping them on the back foot during early and laning phases
Appreciate how informative this vid is. I gotta say, when you point around with your cursor and do little circles and stuff, it makes it really hard to watch.

so many guides, but this is the first one that really made sense to me
32:37 should recommend to read when dead rather then just blindly going bc the top build says so
A guy who plays FGs and Deadlock, that's a channel I must subscribe to. Thanks for the guide, I used to play Wild Rift, but it's still very helpful.
FGs? (nvm I realised fight games)
@@goldythefish36 yep. I'm more of KOF player, but it's cool to see someone who have experience at both genres.
