Here's another teen thing we can all relate to ... Finding the best bra! Today, I am testing popular bras from Pink, Target, Forever21, and Nordstrom. I am testing bras for everyday wear. I take you shopping, get fitted for my bra, and try-on each bra. Then, you can tell me what you want in a teen bra so I can design the best of what you want and the best of what I want in one bra. no hate but usually a person with size D/DD wouldn't be able to fit into an A cup?!!
She said the bra was too big in the band and too small in the cups. That’s your first clue that she’s bigger than an A.
Dana Healy but she was able to wear it tho... people with D cups would not be able to put an A cup bra on
em a 36a cup has bigger volume than say a 32a plus she kept mentioning that not only was it riding down but that she was spilling out of it, which means it was too small for her in the cup size and because she kept having to pull it up, it was too large for her in the band size. Meaning she needs a smaller band and a larger cup.

Why it’s just a bra
1. People have ONE bra size. Sister sizes are what VS tells you when they don’t have your real size in stock. (See 6 below)
2. PADDING DOES NOT EQUAL SUPPORT
3. A skate park is an actual thing. Not all parks are skate parks just because you (try to) ride a skateboard there.
4. Even the smallest-chested person can fit into a DD when the cups are nearly entirely filled with foam.
5. When getting sized for a bra, TAKE OFF your push up bra. You won’t get an accurate measurement if sized while wearing a foam-filled bra.
6. If you wear multiple bras from size 34C to 30F and think each fits well - THEY DON’T ALL ACTUALLY FIT WELL. Google how bras are measured and measure yourself - it’s simple. You have one accurate band size and one accurate cup size... regardless of the 10 diff sizes that mall employees tell you.

guys... please educate yourselves. I don’t understand why so many girls don’t know how bad sizing work. Look up a bra sister size chart. if you go diagonally, the cups are all the same size, which is the same as going down a cup and down a band size. So a 34A has the same cup as a 32B, 30C, 28D, etc. There is no single a cup, or a single d cup. everyone assumes a’s are small and d’s are huge but either one of those sizes can be big or small. it just depends on the band size that you want.

Okay. Everyone who is saying “omg she isn’t a dd or an f” or anything like that, it’s not just the cup size that matters, it’s the band too like 32D and 36D are two totally different things. Yeah I understand it’s the band too but clearlyyyyy since some were falling, she’s not that big. And she was wearing a bombshell bra from vs which makes her a few cup sizes bigger, so the sizing was definitely inaccurate.
usually stores like this don't know how to properly measure bra sizes either, & they also measure you on top of the bra youre already wearing which i think doesn't make any sense

I’m thinking when she got fitted for the bras she might have been wearing a bra with a ton of padding. This way, she would’ve measured a lot bigger than she is. I have actual 32dd-34dd and I’m noticeable way bigger than her. I also can’t even fit into a 34c much less 34a! Either she’s lying about the sizes or got fitted badly bc of the bra she was wearing for fitting
I am also a 32 or 34dd and for a lot of people who actually wear a larger bra size you cannot go up in the waste size and down in the cup. If I do that the waist size is too big and the cup size is way too small.

She is definitely a B only reason why she’s an F or D or double D is because they measure her for push-up bras all the bras that she got were push up which means they’re super padded which means they have to have room for her boobs to which means she has to go up more sizes. My boobs are bigger than hers & without any padding I’m a C. with a little padding I’m a still a C & in Victoria secret bras I’m a D or way higher. Also the 34 A fit her perfectly fine & that was the lightly padded one so that pretty much tells you the size she is.

On the link to the Bra from Nordstrom it says the cups are one full size smaller. An e/f is basically a dd/ddd. Since she had the small band it evened out. Hope that helps. European sizes are slightly different on their cup letters with it having the full cup smaller it’s more like a d/dd.

Nordstrom measures with their own fitting bras that are not padded or anything and they sized me at 30F. I've commented this in a few others so others understand the band size and cup size.
Get sized at Victoria Secret or Pink. This is straight-up the size. Remember the band size affects the cup size. So I'm a 32 D/DD. SO if I do the sister sizing thing I can fit a 34 C or 30 E. I found the 34 band too big (the one from Target). I have a small band size. So a 32DD cup is smaller than a 34DD and so on. Hope this makes sense. Straight-up this is the fitting at 2 stores.
FionaFrills Band size and cup size do NOT impact each other. They are separate measurements independent from one another. Cup and band sizing are pretty simple:
•Your band size (the number) comes from a measurement of your chest that does not include your breasts.
•Your cup size (the letter) comes from the difference between the band size and your bust measurement. There are charts that guide this but it works like: 1” difference is A cup, 2” difference is B cup, on and on (basically how it works, use a chart for precise numbers though).
While the term “sister size” can be misleading, a cup size does NOT change depending on the band size. You truly have one accurate bra size however stores will inform you about “sister sizes” particularly when they are out of stock of your true size. A sister size works like this: pretend your true size is 34B. That means you measure 34 inches around (below boobs). A B cup means that you measure 2 inches more (36 inches) around your boobs. Your sister size is 32C because: a 32 band will be a bit small on you so you go up a cup size to “makeup” for the smaller band. Your band would be too tight with a 32B but because you have a bigger C cup, there is a bit more room for you to fit on. The actual cup on the 32C bra is NOT smaller than any other C cup - as band size and cup size do not impact each other in actual measurements. There are MANY websites about this topic and I suggest checking them out to get well-informed!
Think of it like this: say you have a giant house and tiny garage, both are packed full of your belongings. Now you move to a tiny house with a giant garage - and all of your belongings fit there as well! Although the new house is smaller, the new garage is bigger and makes up for the lost storage space in the house. Same with bras. If your band gets smaller, you get a bigger cup to be able to “fit” all of you inside.

cris1986 My example detailed 34B being a sister size to 32C. I actually think I know a bit about bra sizing - from Info I’ve researched online and elsewhere , maybe more than others. Does that clarify? I wasn’t doubting what a sister size is (regarding your “ask someone” comment) however I do assert that each of us has one correct size. A sister size isn’t going to be the best fit, as a true size would be.

I can tell you right now, bra's that fit are the hardest thing to find. As a 34A, ones that correctly fit are hard to find. Either the band is too big but the cup fits or the cup is big but the band fits.

finding bras for concerts are such a STRUGGLE for me, but i go to a LoT and i think the pink ones are the best for jumping and crowd surfing and all that wild stuff.
y’all aerie bras are GREAT and tj maxx and ross has some cheaper high end stuff that sometimes are SUPER comfy and some are terrible, you should try them on but! if you’re on a budget it’s GREAT.
