Lyrics
Wele goelcerth wen yn fflamio
A thafodau tan yn bloeddio
Are I'are dewrion ddod I daro
Unwaith eto'n un
Gan fanllefau'are tywysogion
Llais gelynion trwst arfogoion
Craig are graig a grbn!
Arfon bth ni orgydd
Cenir yn dragywydd
Cymru fydd fel Cymru fu
Yn glodus ymysg gweldydd
'Nghwyn oleuni'are goelcerth acw
Tros wefusau Cyro'n marw
Annibyniaeth sydd yn galw
Am ei dewraf dyn
Hark I hear the foe advancing
Barbed steeds are proudly prancing
Helmets in the sunbeams glancing
Cymru fo am byth
From the rocks rebounding
Let the war cry sounding
Summon all at Cambria's call
The haughty foe advancing
Men of Harlech on to glory
See your banner famed in story
Waves these burning words before ye
Cymru fo am byth! - เพลง
RIP to Col. Rick Rescorla, 9/11/2001. He was last heard singing this as he directed people from the WTC that day saving hundreds of lives while giving his own.
Englishman here. No nation in the world can project their national identity better than the Welsh. Beautiful country, people and culture.
❤❤ TOTALLY AGREE
WELSH THE BEST SINGERS ....EVER .🍒
New Zealander here. Couldn't agree more
NOT YOUR FAULT...LOVE XXXX
Damn right! Canadian born of Welsh-Irish ancestry. No better singers, scholars and soldiers in the world! Amen.
Pity the English don't think the same of us...! ;-)
Irish American here. If this song does not make your hair stand on end, you're not alive. Cymru an byth!

As an Irishman from the South Coast, I swear I hear this on the wind every time I sail back to Fishguard on my way back to Sussex 😊❤
You know Patrick came from Wales, yeah?
Any man from the British Isles who claims to be from the "South Coast", is not a real Britisher apparently. My Old Dad and my glorious DNA is from Hastings, let's forget 55 BC 54 BC and 1066, all the REAL men were in the North.. waiting. Cheers mate .
Apparently... I've been misinformed for quite a many years. Santo Patriko turns out to be from... Scotland, actually. Roman-blood from west end of The Wall, specifically.
OMG. Full respect to the Welsh choir who took time from singing in the mountains.
Holy cow, i remember when she first came to prominence but never listened to anything of hers. What a bloody voice. No wonder they called her voice of an angel
I'm a 73 year old retired US Marine, who's twice been to war, and I burst into tears when I heard this! GOD BLESS WALES! Semper Fidelis! 0205 CWO4 USMCR [Ret] 17 February 1969 - 1 August 2004
Thank you for your service 🙏
WELCOME HOME
2nd Battalion 5th Marines? The fame of your Regiment precedes you Sir.
ALL ACROSS THE MOUNTAIN....
Bless you. Brought up in Wales. Have lived in Africa for most of my life. l still cry. xx
My Grandad was Welsh and an Old Contemptible of the 2nd Batt Royal Welsh Fusiliers .When the film Zulu was shown in our town an old man stood to attention alone in the cinema when the soldiers sung this song .God Bless Granfer what patriotism.
Brilliant film zulu,rokes drift
There is an old Irish blessing you say when entering another man's house for the first time. I say it now to the nation of Wales. "God bless this house and all who dwell here".
How's that in Gaeilga?
Beautiful voice. Beautiful song. Thank you!
The Welsh are blessed with beautiful voices powered by hearts of love.
I love the pride and loyalty the Welsh have for their country. And I love the way they sing
Watch this.. th-cam.com/video/L_9ZZLBgSMo/w-d-xo.html
Good Lord. I'm not Welsh. This little girl has a voice from Heaven. Stunning
She is just a "little thing". Where does that power come from?
Lol Charlotte Church is now 38yrs old….no little girl anymore.
Zulus sir ,Thousands of them,
Oddly enough, not many in London!
And????🏴
This puts hairs on the back of my neck, nobody can sing like the Welsh and I'm Irish!
RIP Nancy Edna Hayday. Thnx for the gift of music 🎵
I have not heard Charlotte Church for ages and I had forgotten what a wonderful voice she has. Great song sung by a great choir.

No one remembers that other Welsh kid... David somthing.
may freedom come. from Ireland.
We all live in the same United kingdom but many welshmen have given their lives in our fight for freedom
The young lady has the voice of an angel - but when the male chorus come in I am ready to pick up my Claymore and do or die for King and Country !!!
There is no greater sound than a Welsh Choir in full voice.
At least as good as a choir of naked Zulus...
@@spackretired Heheheheheheh!
Unless it's Charlotte Church in full voice backed by a Welsh choir in full voice!!
Especially at a rugby match
An english choir singing English
Brings a tear to my eye every time especially the Welsh part
This song has seen me through some dark days and it will always keep me fighting!
Charlotte Church is an amazing singer a pure pleasure to listen too. The mens choir is a great accompaniment to a great anthem :)
If your not Welsh, never mind,!!! We Welsh loved it 😁😁😁
What a patriotic performance! A young girl with great pride for her country, its heritage and her roots. And why not? Wales is a beautiful country. So says an Englishman.
Right on. As another Englishman I say the Welsh are some of the finest people on this planet.
Thanks, I appreciate it.
And the best anthem.
@@martinputt6421 "Right on"? An Englishman?🙄 How the standards have dropped.
They have the best anthem
As an Aussie I always wanted to go to Cardiff Arms Park, rugby of course, but my welsh roots just wanted to hear the boyos sing!
Sung like an Angel then, and today she still does although we don’t see enough of her ❤️❤️

Britannia
How do you know?
Britannia
Why do you think I'm white? Bizarre...
And I'm a coward for offering an opinion different from yours? Even more bizarre (but very British of you).
You seem to be confusing the events in the movie "Zulu" with what actually happened in reality. That's not how movies work.
What about this for reality...
The British Army and associated colonial troops were armed with state of the art firearms (for the time period), faced a force of untrained (in modern warfare of that period) farmers armed with spears and cow-hide shields. This gave the British a colossal superiority over their foe. This is a fact.
After the battle Trooper William James Clarke of the Natal Mounted Police described in his diary that 'altogether we buried 375 Zulus and some wounded were thrown into the grave... We were very bitter and did not spare the wounded Zulus'
Lieutenant Horace Smith-Dorrien wrote that the day after the battle an improvised gallows was used "for hanging Zulus who were supposed to have behaved treacherously'. (British justice) Many wounded Zulus were summarily executed on the Battlefield where they lay. A war crime by modern standards.
I have no doubt that the individual British soldiers were brave, fought well and did their duty on the day. But please don't try to make it out like a glorious victory for the British Empire. It was another squalid and shameful event in the history of the inglorious, blood soaked British empire.
In the words of the song;
"Come tell us how you slew,
the poor Arabs two by two,
Or the Zulus armed with their bow and arrows.
How you bravely slew each one,
With your sixteen pounder gun,
You frightened them poor natives to their marrow'.
And I'm a brat? I'm quite close to pension age!!! LOL!!!
She hits the high notes with such easy power.
Charlotte,s last note just stunning .
Over the years I've returned to this magnificent performance many times...
It must be so emotional for any Welsh person, I'm English and I'm loving it. Charlotte did a wonderful job.
Love to hear the Welsh language love from Ireland
One of the best musical masterpieces of all time. Just epic

Oh my life!! My mother used to sing this, she died 23 years ago, but a day doesnt go by when I dont think of how fortunate I was to have such a wonderful mother - this had me in bits… tears of joy - diolch yn fawr 🎵❤️
Always love this song and gives me goosebumps. Proud of my Welsh great grandfather 🏴
I heard this and wanted to march into a horde of Normans with a smile and a rock in my hand. I'm Irish but by god no one sings like the welsh. Outstanding song and the most beautiful language on earth. Welsh is what angels sound like.
I'd rather march into a horde of English racist xenophobe tories with a smile, an LMG and a haversack of full mags - wouldn't matter whether it was to Men of Harlech, Amhran na Bfiann, Flower of Scotland or the Europa Hymne. WHO'S WITH ME?
I am English and I agree with you

Rousing inspirational song.......up there with Le Marseillaise as a stirring national song , what a fabulous rendition by Charlotte Church and the London Welsh Male voice choir bravo !!!
I love the contrast between her speaking voice and her singing voice!!
As an Englishman even my heart is stirred by Men of Harlech and Charlotte and this choir - magnificent !!!
Unbelievable voice. The Welsh really can sing.
Ive seen this at least a hundred times and i still get amazed at that last note she hits
Superb version. Charlotte certainly has the voice of an angel. The men aren't too bad either.
Long live the memory of the 2nd Battalion,24th Foot! Welshmen will not yield!

To end the performance, A proper CURTSY!! by Charlotte Church! What a magnificent acknowledgment of respect.
Wow! Goosebumps and respect from America!
I was on a train today from Portmadoc to Shrewsbury and while we were stopped in Harlech station I played this recording of Charlotte Church and the Welsh choir with the castle right above us in full view
Very atmospheric. Cymru an byth and long live th Celtic people. I love the Western Scottish Highlands and Islands too and go there regularly too. Wonderful!
Voice of an angel!
Every time I hear this my blood runs cold. Chills run up my arms. What magic is this?…
Amazing voice the Welsh are definitely the best singers

chills down my spine....just brilliant.
The welch singing men of Harlech love it and there's nothing like listening to the The Principality Studium in full voice singing Land Of My Father's sung with such passion it always makes me cry
The most beautiful, and the original language of Britain
My mother, who we have just lost to heaven was Welsh. If there's one song that expresses my grief it is this one...
Tears and goosebumps ...

So it's true, you Welsh are a people of music.
That's how angels must sing....what a voice....
Beautiful...
And i am French and love this song..!
She's a Celt, I love it too....
I also liisten to the "La Marseillasie" sung by M. Mathieu w/ English subtitles. That is a powerful anthem but does not make me weep like Men of Harlech..
It doesn't get any better than this !
As an Englishman with no welsh blood at all I love this song , long live wales on of 4 countries that make up this great nation of ours
You can be forgiven when you understand that only 10 soldiers of the 1/24 that fought in the battle were Welsh. Many of the soldiers of the junior battalion, the 2/24, were Welshmen.[55] Of the 122 soldiers of the 24th Regiment present at the Battle of Rorke's Drift, 49 are known to have been of English nationality, 32 were Welsh, 16 were Irish, one was a Scot, and three were born overseas. The nationalities of the remaining 21 are unknown.[56]
Do you remember the film zulu
You have no monopoly on your emotional reaction to this anthem. I am an American and love it.
@@stevenwolfe7101 A beautiful song.
Eric your words are so true, the four countries that make up the Uk are so diverse and special in their own way and stronger together !
Whenever I hear this song, I think of the movie Zulu- but what a voice she has.
That was in Zulu War
I'm afraid we won't see "Zulu" again - longer politically accepted. Such a pity.
@@peterhodges7274 hmm
@@peterhodges7274 I watched it again on TV here in Australia only a few weeks ago.
@@peterhodges7274 No so sure about that; the movie is relatively accurate historically, and gave the Zulu warriors the full credit they were due. And the "heroic defense" put up by the defenders wasn't mere Hollywood bombast, but historically accurate: each of those Victoria Crosses was earned in just the way depicted in the movie (Stanley Baker insisted on truthful acccuracy).
One of the most beautiful voices I have had the pleasure to listen to and often wonder what has become of her in her music career. Sheer beauty
Tears. Wonderful
Book me in. See you there ❤❤❤❤❤❤
