Britannia Why do you think I'm white? Bizarre... And I'm a coward for offering an opinion different from yours? Even more bizarre (but very British of you). You seem to be confusing the events in the movie "Zulu" with what actually happened in reality. That's not how movies work. What about this for reality... The British Army and associated colonial troops were armed with state of the art firearms (for the time period), faced a force of untrained (in modern warfare of that period) farmers armed with spears and cow-hide shields. This gave the British a colossal superiority over their foe. This is a fact. After the battle Trooper William James Clarke of the Natal Mounted Police described in his diary that 'altogether we buried 375 Zulus and some wounded were thrown into the grave... We were very bitter and did not spare the wounded Zulus' Lieutenant Horace Smith-Dorrien wrote that the day after the battle an improvised gallows was used "for hanging Zulus who were supposed to have behaved treacherously'. (British justice) Many wounded Zulus were summarily executed on the Battlefield where they lay. A war crime by modern standards. I have no doubt that the individual British soldiers were brave, fought well and did their duty on the day. But please don't try to make it out like a glorious victory for the British Empire. It was another squalid and shameful event in the history of the inglorious, blood soaked British empire. In the words of the song; "Come tell us how you slew, the poor Arabs two by two, Or the Zulus armed with their bow and arrows. How you bravely slew each one, With your sixteen pounder gun, You frightened them poor natives to their marrow'. And I'm a brat? I'm quite close to pension age!!! LOL!!!

@@peterhodges7274 No so sure about that; the movie is relatively accurate historically, and gave the Zulu warriors the full credit they were due. And the "heroic defense" put up by the defenders wasn't mere Hollywood bombast, but historically accurate: each of those Victoria Crosses was earned in just the way depicted in the movie (Stanley Baker insisted on truthful acccuracy).
