idk if anyone else tries to replicate this - but it is 10000X easier keeping the leather wet the whole time, i dont have strength so getting those stamps was a beast then I re-wet it and boop! so if you see the dark in the video, keep it dark or somehow keep it super wet. Also, I cant find that diamond stamp anywhere, but will be re-doing and re-watching this tutorial until I get it! love your work!

One of the most beautiful pieces I've seen you create so far. Question for you... How do you handle the dye on the inside of the cover, and it rubbing off on the book? I've created book covers plenty of times, and I've never been able to leave the inside not-line with something like pig suede, etc., because no matter what I do (burnish the inside with Tokonole for example) I always end up with some dye rubbing off on the books.
Thank you very much! I try to use just a light coat of dye on the inside. As far as whether or not it rubs off onto the book remains to be seen. This is really the first book cover I have made like this. So we shall see.

I'd definitely keep an eye on the spots that might not have gotten much Tokonole, as it might break down and disappear a little faster, leaving a spot just waiting to rub off onto the inside of your book. I'm still learning, but wouldn't adding the mink oil before doing the carving be better? Because from my understanding, you want to soften leather so it's easier to carve designs into.
You can't beat handmade.
Takes a lot more work to make a leather cover like this than I thought. I always pictured it being a lot more simple of a process, boy was I wrong.

You should case the leather with water. That is what softens it for carving.
