I believe that if any friend, family member or partner ever gifted me a set of rebound books that were to this level of quality and into this level of detail and attention….. They would be the greatest gifts I would ever own if I would cherish forever. You truly are an artist and it is awesome that you found your artistic expression. It is absolutely breathtaking. I hope you continue to do it because you should be so proud of the work that you put into this. Well done!
My Mother knew how to repair and rebind books. She didn't do it very often but she was very meticulous. If we consider centuries past when most wealthy people would buy certain books, they would choose to have them rebound for their collections so the covers would match and protect the books. Your artistry enhances the works.
Is there enough superlatives in the universe to describe how exquisite these book covers are?!?!?!?!? Just stunning!! I love them and as I love books, your library must look very impressive! Thank you for sharing
Good craftsmanship but some of the artistic choices are baffling to me. An Evenstar necklace on The Fellowship of the Ring, (this gem doesn't exist outside the movie adaptation). A broken sword Narsil (movie style, not book accurate) in The Return of the King when the sword had been remade two books previously and was a portent of the king? A barad-dur (again, movie adaptation style with the flaming eye on top) in Two Towers when the relevant towers in that book are Orthanc and Minas Morgul? These would be good for leather bound Blu-Ray cases but for the books I would not buy these if I saw them in a store, which is unfortunate because of the obvious care taken into making them.
This is so cool to see. I been making books from scratch and rebinding books. I worked with leather, made belts, stubby holder, wallets, pack bags for motorcycles but I never rebounded any book with leather. I made my pattern with punches, never tried this method. It’s way cool I haven’t worked with books or leather for over 10 years, got arthritis in my hands which make it so much harder This was so nice to see and brought back memories. Beautiful work Thank you.
Now I have seen so many rebindings of these books (I love them, too)... the urge to do it myself grows. But until now I didn't work with leather. Seems there is a first time to everything.
I love seeing this! It absolutely beautiful! I would love to see what you could come up with if you decided to rebind Stephen King’s The Dark Tower Series!
It's the first time i saw something like this. To have the possebility to watch how you do it, is something quiet extraordinary. Normally, you would pay for this. Such beautiful book covers. Absolutely amazing. Just jawdropping ❤ I hope you do this as a job? If not, maybe you should consider to make money out of it, because the love you put into these total beauties let it look really special. Out of the average. I think a writer would love to work with you. To make a special edition for their books. Keep it ip 🎉
These are absolutely amazing I’d personally love to see you do this to Michael J Sullivan’s books… in a perfect world all of them but I’d mostly vote for the Legends Of The First Empire series
Perfect, but... Broken Narsil on the back of RotK where Aragorn have new one in FotR is out of place, Tower of Isengard its great but the title is Two Towers, maybe coukd be diffrent way to show it. Anyway fantastic leather work, some fancy covers for sure.

Not gonna lie, I couldn't help wincing slightly when you ripped the covers off, but the finished leather-bound design looked absolutely amazing! You'll have to rebind the Chronicles of Narnia next.
these are simply a one of a kind work of art! so fantastic. you are super talented! one question: i’m not super familiar with leather. where do you buy your leather? and what is a reasonable price for it? (i don’t want to over or under pay)
I was thinking the same thing. If you just rebind a cheap paperback the paper will yellow and get brittle no matter how well you keep it. You might get 30 years before the paper is noticeably yellowing. By 50 years it will start crumbling.
I'm a bit surprised that you would put that much work into books that have a glued binding vs. sewn, which are far more durable and long-lasting. Is there a reason why you use glued books?
My experience with this (as a much more inexperienced person) is that removing the covers from hand bound books can rip the binding, which in my case made it IMPOSSIBLE to complete the job.
In future please double our triple and definitely slow down showing the end result. It is hard to admire when it is so rushed. Be proud and take the time to show off your hard work! ❤
I have a few books that I thought had proper covers when I bought them… online… but they turned out to be the worst paperback covers and I do not like them… but I don’t think I have the skills to do this ✋😮📕
These are lovely but is anyone else annoyed as hell the Leaves of Lórien are on the Hobbit cover when they are NOT in The Hobbit? I cant be the only one really frustrated by this detail?

I know your finished product will be absolutely incredible, but every time you rip the cover off a book part of my soul dies 😅
Yo, right? I have that same, cringing "gah..." feeling.
I was literally about to comment the same. I know the outcome and reason. The act is just horrifying and disgraceful. And yes a part of my soul dies.

Is that tool you’re using to put the design into the leather, is it carving the leather away or is it burnishing it?
