Super helpful. Just replaced the diverter valve on our B7 avant today and it fixed my P0299 code! Best tools for me were 1/4 inch ratchet, 1/4 inch 5mm hex bit socket, and 3” 1/4 inch extension. Every other tool was either too long or got in the way. Take your time and be patient and it’s an easy swap.
Never a routine job. There is always some one new (me) who gets a lot out of these vids. It did help having the extensions to see exactly what is going on. Didn't expect to find under the car - but the engineer probably got a good laugh out of it. Over all thanks for helping out with this information. Thanks.
Thanks Guy's... Just did a new valve plus the GFB DV+ Kit on our MK6 GTI. Connector Plug was a bit stubborn but we got it. Very pleased with our efforts.
I changed this valve this year. It was leaking small amount of oil It leaked for 4 years. Small amounts... Finally I was able to change it. Much clean back there now..
Just watched the vid. Excellent camera placement. Great vid except at the end just before you appear to say finished you will notice that the 5 mm allen tool is still on diverter fastener!
You should post one of these videos for 2020 VW Passat se installing the DV+. not too much info out there because the job requires access from underneath.

So it looks like there is some sort of plate over where the location is shown in this video. There is however an identical looking part up by the right hand side of the front grill that is attached a large air hose, attached to the plastic turbo Inlet pipe, any ideas what's happening here?
@@kkelv I know it's been 3 years but you push back on the little tab while pulling the connector in the other direction. Try with your hand before using a screwdriver, more prone to breaking. Good luck lol
Would this fix a low compression problem on cylinder 3 on the 2.0T FSI engine? If not, what are the obvious suspects? Valve issues, etc? What's the typical cost to have a valve job done on this engine? Thanks, Mark

The old valves with a bellows type diverter rip and leak boost to atmosphere, they changed the design to a piston which is more robust than a rubber bellows.
I've been trying to change it on my car, but I don't have the ability to lift the car up. Let me tell you how much of a pain in the ass it is to even lift it up.

Holy smokes. I just did this. I had a really hard time getting to the lower left bolt. Things are so much easier when you have a lift.

Yes, that's why we just did my sons car. Discovered it was an older revision and kept finding the connector with oil on it....

Drive up ramps at Harbor Freight Tools. Probably $40 max. Just dont overshoot the ramp and youll be about a foot off the ground.
