I also work solo and I've learned so much from your content. Thank you for showing how you solo rig and how versatile a speed line kit can be. I would have invested in completely different gear had I found your channel sooner. I would really enjoy an in-depth video on how you rig bigger stuff over obstacles.
@@metaspencer I've been remorseful about this long enough. It's high time for some candor. We need more candor in this world, by golly! Okay. Here goes. I don't really have a trained woodchuck. There. It really felt good to get that off my chest.
Nice job man... lift the bar tip when u tighten the chain. Sometimes they can loosen a tad. Not a bunch in the little saws but the longer bars can be alot. I pucked up a telescoping pole saw. I think i might bring it up next time i am at the top if a redwood thinning.
I've been wanting one of those telescoping saws ... good purchase man. Yeah, I'll have to do that tip-up thing more often. Old habits die hard. Stay safe in those monster trees ya got
Great work, I love the safety you involve in your climbing and tree cutting, You make it look fun and easy, I would love for you to try out the panther conversion kit on your 2511, I can never go back to an Oregon set up after trying it. Take care and God bless.
nice style and video...your smaller is safer style makes it go so smooth although the free drops make me cringe as I do them a lot as well and have had some bad bounces ...tks for keeping it real by showing the slam dunks and the rim shots ;)
ive got my first removal coming up here real soon, super excited, as far as I know itll just be a climb to set a pull line and yank on it with a dozer, but maybe I can talk him into chunking it down in 8ft logs to mill (its cherry)
I've never seen a manual pole saw like that. Very handy! The bucket truck blew a hose today and I got stuck up there till my brother brought a 40 ft ladder over. I was gonna go down on a two rope system with a made up saddle but my wife was panicking! Shes my ground girl keeping the speed line tight.🤣😀
oh wow, that sounds like an ordeal! I guess it would be good to bring a rope, saddle, and figure 8 up there. at least it didn't drop on ya!!! get that hydro line fixed my man
I don't spend a lot of time on TH-cam, but I came across your channel when I was searching for help repairing my fence. (Ironic since you never make how-to videos.) I ended up watching pretty much every video, and even ordered your book from Amazon.
Wow man, you made my day. Cool to hear from ya and to think that the videos were interesting enough to dig into like that. Take care and I hope the book doesn't put you to sleep too quickly :)
@@metaspencer The videos are all interesting for the work and information, but what made them really appealing was your attitude. Your humble approach, your obvious work ethic, and your extra effort to put that camera out there. The book won't put me to sleep. I read a lot of philosophy from those big boys who barely even live their own lives. I'd a lot rather listen to you talk about neighbors and fences.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh nice too see the Red demon back to bits original form...I get chipper aren't cheap but don't you think it would reduce work time🤔🤔🤔.. All in a days work...
I hear ya about the chipper, but then I see myself spending time fixing it and sharpening the blades and all of that ... and end up rolling the same way that I have. But I'm sure you're right!
As usual, repetitive greatness. I'm literally itching to climb. I've got a lovely case of poison ivy and worse I woke up a few days ago with a painful stiff neck. I'm hoping to be back to normal in a couple more days. Thanks man.

very good as always. thanks for taking the time to film.
Excellent. Thanks man
from the Netherlands thanks for the video Spancer .
still no chipper budget 😉
haha ...definitely no chipper budget :) someday!
Great swings. By yourself on top of that. Love it
thanks man ... always nice to swing 'em
Thanks!👍
Oh yeah!
I admire your preparedness, I'm sure you've done it long enough to know what can be done by yourself and what can't.
Thanks for that! Yeah, over time things become more predictably ... not 100% of course, but more so :)
Awesome job Spencer stay safe

Gooood evening Spencer another great job done!
hey Loren! thanks for checking it out
Love the swings.
Stay safe
Absolutely. As long as that rope is tight and well placed, and as long as it's hinging wood and not brittle, can work well
My trained woodchuck and I were watching everything with intense interest.
Thanks for the content.
Keep up the good work.

I've been dreaming about that panther setup for the 2511 -- dunno why I haven't gone for it yet. I totally should. Thanks for the encouragement!

Awesome work, how do you disconnect the pieces once they get to the ground when you solo rig like this?
The pieces are never connected. I give a full overview on how I do it here: th-cam.com/video/skrcy223myU/w-d-xo.html
@@metaspencer Thankyou looking now, I appreciate it.
The ground crew did a great job!! Did the power guy ever show up?
Power guy never showed! I had meant to call the company to see what happened, but must have forgot ... oh well

TECNU ( you must already know)
The movement for a chipper is growing, lol.
it's true! chip chip
I thought we were gonna get a announcement... Like you got a chipper, or a second ground guy!!!
Chipper! Ground guy! I'll have to keep the "announcement" story going in the next vid :) For sure I keep the biz news flowin
What kind of saw do you use? i got a 12lb husqvarna and its kind of a pain to use one handed im just wondering if ur saw and some of the other saws ive seen other guys using are lighter or im just weak
The Echo 2511t is the lightest out there ... just over 5lbs. It can't handle big stuff as well as the more powerful saws, but it's a dream to carry
Three words you don't want to hear your tree pruning guy say, "Oh! Oh! Oh!"
Haha! Exactly! I should keep it down up there instead of freaking out all the time :)
Were you a rock climber? You coil your rope over the shoulders, like a rock climber I knew. Thanks for your vids!
Been around a few climbers and must have picked that up from them :) It keeps the rope from kinking up, so I like the method
Isn't like the movie's finding gold or a swarm of bee's but then it's TH-cam lol just realitie
The real deal I guess :)
Hopefully this is an older video, should stay away from the oak pruning until the weather gets cold enough. Gotta be mindful of the oak wilt.
