Pretty rare stuff. Betsy had only one LP issued in '71. No follow-up and apparently no singles. Lovely voice to hear. But a shame we didn't get chance to hear more music from her. 😞

My understanding is that the album was private release, which means it never was in distribution in the record stores. One of the problems she may have had developing her career is that the pure folk idiom was passe by the 1970s. Maybe she got married and had kids. It could be as simple as that.
I tried doing a Google online search to find out more about this singer but all I could find was links to hear the songs from her album on TH-cam......How does someone like this just disappear from the public consciousness? Nobody seems to know anything about her. Almost like she never existed.....Saudações do Brasil...
I have also done much online research and found nothing. Because of this, I wonder if she existed at all and that the photo we have is just some obscure actress who posed for an album cover. The songs being rendered by some now forgotten studio singer. Most likely this is what happened. Still, there are some songs on that album that were very well performed. Am glad they have been presented here on YT.

Hmmmm, not the slightest trace of her anywhere, anytime apart from these songs on TH-cam. If you asked an AI Chatbot to produce an album from an archetypal female folk singer of the early seventies I guess that it would come up with something very like this name, voice and choice of songs.
This has all the signs of being an AI personality prototype trial run experiment to "work out the bugs" via an innocuous attempt to rewrite history. Another possibility is that she's a real person who took a shot at making it as a performer/musician and then moved on, possibly getting married, having kids, working a 9 to 5 job and settling into relative obscurity for some fifty-odd years before being rediscovered on youtube.

A stunningly beautiful piece, lovingly performed.
Betsy's voice is a touch of Joan Baez and Janis Ian so pure and simple.

Maybe Joan and Janis compares to Betsy's voice. Think ! It is Betsy's voice that is stellar. Never compare the best with the famous.

The song reminds me much of Laura Marling's "Night after Night", which is obviously (as much of her repertoire) inspired by Cohen.
