i was there, then. never got over the music. doubt if i ever will. never heard of her. what a classic, beautiful voice. i lost connection with popular music 50 years ago, never mind what passes for music now. i am almost sorry i stumbled across this woman and her recordings. it;s a deep, stabbing moment of remembrance.
This version is so tender and stripped down...it really emphasizes the raw lyrics and the melancholy of the song. Thank you so much for sharing. I feel like I'm listening to a beloved ghost.
I thought I would never hear this again. Betsy Legg sang on her back porch with her friends when I was growing up. We would sit in our backyard and listen across the fence. We lived in Santa Fe NM at that time.
Such a well paced version. The voice draws you in and I can honestly say there are words I heard in this song for the first time in my lifetime. Wonderful. Thank you for uploading this.
Now isnt this great music wow . Beautiful soft vocals . Hell yeah you dont hear music like this on the radio . Why is betsy unknown . What a travesty. Sydney australia 25/3/2023
Yes! I was just now trying to find info on her. There was a site called mudcat that says she was signed to do this one album, a limited run for a small label. There is a photo in a high school yearbook from a school in Tennessee….a young lady holding a guitar who might be this Betsy Legg. It’s a travesty and a mystery. “Finding Betsy Legg” could make a good documentary.
@@dantallman5345 Yeah shes a hard woman to track down . I came across a site asking if any one had any info on her She sure had a great voice . All i could find out is she did this one album of covers . I recorded it on to usb .
I really for once am nearly wordless! She is folk music’s best kept secret. I sincerely wish that she was reachable because she needs to be told the profound truth about the purity of her style. She is somewhat reminiscent of Joan Baez, but really, she’s the one and only Betsy Legg!

"...deep, stabbing moment of remembrance". So well said. That's what nostalgia truly is to me. A painful melancholy.

If I live to be 100, I would never tire of the beauty of folk music, Betsy Legg takes folk music to another level!

Lucky duck!
Can you share or post here or Wikipedia what you know of her?
She seems to be a mystery

Hard to believe that so many have never heard of this lady!
Just love the simple soothing dreamy folksy music of the 1960s and 70s.
Well take off your shoes and smoke some pot in mellow evenings lit by amber lights
This is so amazing! I wish she got better publicity by the record company.
Beautiful, agree with Jarod……Afraid much of what passes for folk music these days leaves me cold. This is magical, thank you.
How did I miss her? Classic.
Wonderful interpretation and a magnificent voice!
Great feeling about Dylan's stellar song.

A natural easy flow voice🎶🎵👍
My gosh. Who was she. I grew up in the 60s, and never heard of her. How is that possible with such a voice?
I know the feeling, what a beautiful voice.
Beautiful voice!
So nice I ❤ your voice !
What a voice, remind me of Kate.

Wow, a better singer than the great Joan Baez. How is it possible to be so perfect?
Where’d she go then?
This must be Joan Baez.....
Nope. Sounds similar to her though
I would rather compare Joan Baez to Betsy Legg
