Thank you! Thrift stores can be treasure troves, and I'm glad I could inspire you to explore. I appreciate your kind words about the fabrics 💜 Happy thrifting!
Christine, you are such inspiration to me. I love how excited you are with your treasures. I’m learning to sew again after backing off 20 years ago when I could sew anything. Now I’m hesitant but as I built up my stash I’m feeling more secure. With your help I am encouraged to start my projects. 😊
Thank you so much! I'm honored to be a source of inspiration for you. It's wonderful to hear that you're getting back into sewing and building up your confidence. Remember, it's all about enjoying the process and creating something special. I'm here to support you along the way. Happy sewing! 💜
Great haul, Christine! The green is too sheer for the playsuit but the blue shirting might work. Love the yellow/white stripe, perfect summer dress. Does it go with the 70's towel? That print is fantastic! The last appliqued piece is actually made in China. I used to grab these all the time because they are achingly lovely. You see mainly pinks and blues. Became really popular in the 1980's and we're mainly tablecloths, napkins and guest towels. If you are really lucky you can find a duvet cover. I found a huge tablecloth once...130" long...but the stains were too set in to remove and they were everywhere. Once heat sets food stains they are super hard to get out. They are all done by hand and I shudder to think how little the women who did them were paid. Hope to see you with a makes video soon.♥️
Thank you so much, Charlotte!! I think I do need to rethink the green. The more I look at it, I think you're right, it's too sheer for the romper. I guess the conundrum is what else to make out of it and nothing is coming to mind just yet :-D That's so interesting about the appliqued piece! And so nice to know we share the same admiration of the lovely work 💜
If you ever plan a visit, let me know!!! I would love to come up your way one day, too. The markets here are hit or miss but I can usually find at least something :-)
You make me want to grab my keys and visit the thrift store. Every fabric that you purchased is so beautiful.❤

Every time I see a fabric-store my fingers start tickling and it's difficult to just walk by without bying anything 😊
I understand you perfectly 😂💜

Man, I need to visit Valencia! I love fabric thrifting. I haven’t had luck with it in Barcelona. Great finds.
