Oh my gosh! What a treat to hear from a REAL, scatter-brained, energetic thrifter/crafter. I love that the "younger" generation are learning to sew and craft, but I just can't listen to their monotone voices that drone on about their creative process with absolutely no creative flair whatsoever. Thank you for the wonderful ride, sarcasm, humour, and all!
as soon as I realized that I didn't have it, my stomach started turning and I felt so sick, I literally got my main credit card stolen online last week and getting that all taken care of has been a whole ordeal! I'm so glad it was in my pocket 😅
I hate the anxiety attacks not finding a wallet where it’s supposed to be and immediately feeling like someone just bought something huge already on my card that might not even be lost haha! And it being in your pocket is gold to this story haha. So glad it wasn’t lost though!
I just tell people that I shop for textiles. Then if they ask more, I tell them. I really enjoy doing it also. I have discovered both table cloths and shower curtains,(Yes I have the coolest 100% cotton one with tiny multi colored pom poms...will soon be a summer dress. I also buy curtains, duvet covers, sheets, baby gause covers, pillow shams, some upholstery fabrics (for jackets, waist pieces/sashes,vest, and hanfu skirts), pillow cases for teired dresses. I have 1 very special 100% cotton scalloped and embroidered bed skirt. Oh it will be a very special teired dress. I have bought a great pair of boots to wear with it. I keep my eye out for same fabric in different colors for color blocking. All these from Goodwill. I also have picked up a lot of expensive apparel fabric there (including dupioni silk). I am hoping an unbelievable embroidered linen piece will still be there tomorrow.
TH-cam randomly recommended this, first one of your videos I’ve seen. Wish I’d found you sooner. Fun video! Totally relate to the “I’m having such a feeling great day!” To suddely 180 and “Oh [censor]! [censor] where is it?!” Panic attack. I’ve had some awesome fashion fabric finds at the thrift store. My best is 12 yards of vintage gingham 100% cotton (burn tested)- paid just $3 for the giant 12 yard blob! I almost had one top that but it didn’t have a price tag and the cashier knew what it was/was worth so they refused to price for me.. pretty sure it ended up in thier car. It was 100% merino wool 2 yards of it (content was sewn onto the salvage). Where I live you can’t find the at sort of fabric, not without an insanely long drive.
Frankly I like the coral top with the green jeans. And thank you for giving this 6’1” girl permission to wear a top that I wish was longer. I’ll be looking for your sewing videos. Do you ever show how to resize patterns?
I hear you on the men's pants having pockets. I finally gave up on women's jeans a few years ago. I only wear men's jeans now and I love being able to stick my hands in my pockets up to my elbows 😂
Ohhh! Ive been learning to sew. And came across a few channels for thrift projects. And i haven't found one that has similar interests and i'm so excited! And you're so relatable. Yay!!! Tyyyy
There is a really good thrift store a few towns over from mine and I want to vlog at that one soon too!! I was worried that nobody would enjoy my vlog/ thrifting videos, so thank you for letting me know you like it!
Thank you!!! I’m hoping to get some new videos up soon! I had a baby at Christmas time and have been busy recovering and learning how to keep a tiny human alive 😂😂
Thank you so much Alexandria, I really really enjoyed watching you thrift, and I really appreciate your attitude towards thrifting, I love ❤❤ thrifting, and I think you have the best sense for it too. I’ve subscribed and given you a thumbs up too
I lost my house keys, twice, on moving day. Now I have some Tiles that will play a jingle when you use the app. Haven't lost my keys since. And they make credit card style ones for you wallet. Total sanity saver!
What is the "wrap the waist around your neck" test with the pants?? Does that tell you if the pants will fit you or is it more to do with how much fabric you will get from it if you deconstruct the pants?
It’s pretty straightforward, you just button up the pair of pants you want to test, and wrap the waist of them around your neck. Most a lot of people’s neck circumference is Half that of their waist circumference. It worked for me before I had a baby, but I’m Not sure if it still works now that my body has changed dramatically
Thank you so much for looking out for me!! lol but its just a scar, and when I pull my hair up into a bun juuuust the right way, I don't cover it 😅 I got it when I was like 3 years old, I was showing my mom how good twirling I was and I twirled right into the corner of the coffee table 😂 a trip to the doctor, multiple stitches and many years later her I am showing it to the internet 😂
@AlexandriaLayne Oh nooo 😅 I did a similar thing when I was 4, only it was the fireplace and it hit just above my eyebrow. Thankfully it wasn't too bad 😅

Such a relief that you found your wallet. It's so easy to misplace items when your in a hurry in public.

I'm going to make a crossbody bag just for ph & wallet & wear it around my neck. Now I'll have to go thrifting for my materials

Thank you for the tip about waist around the neck, it works
I'm glad you found your wallet. Thank you for the update tips.
As far as how fabrics smell, I hang them outside in the sunshine until most of the smell is gone, then I wash. Otherwise, it will always stink.
I lost my house keys, twice, on moving day. Now I have some Tiles that will play a jingle when you use the app. Haven't lost my keys since. And they make credit card style ones for you wallet. Total sanity saver!

Omg just found out you have a yt channel! Love this one ❤️
thanks for joining me!! I have a lot of fun videos coming up, I hope you stick around and watch them!
I made this comment before watching the whole video and omg I'm sorry about the wallet fiasco! But I'm glad you captured some good finds 🙂
Can you explain wrapping the waist of the jeans around your neck?

I hardly ever thrift for actual clothes anymore, it's always "now how can I use this to make me into another fictional character?"
90% of the time, I have that mindset about thrifting 😂 thats how I find all my DND related outfits!!
Am I insane or was that a fendi throw u passed up
That's what I came here to say 😮
Geez.why dont you just carry a cross body purse to hold your money. Its comfortable.
One of the worst things to happen to you is misplacing your wallet. Total terror.
I felt like I was almost in shock, my brain was running so fast but also I couldn't think straight all at the same time. I don't wish that on anyone!
