    I've been riding 37 years. Crashed my racing 600 in late July and still haven't got it all back to good (but it's functional and I've had it out already), so I know all about losing the front. :) One reason I got ABS on my new RSV4. Take a look at my videos if you want to see either of the mentioned bikes in action.

    The 08- 09 Honda CBR 1000 Has set faster laptimes on all the WSBK Superstock 1000 races, than the 2012 CBR 1000. Infact the 09 CBR has set almost exact record laptimes as the Panigale, and the HP4 and Hawasaki zx10 in 2013 in similar conditions in superstock trim. compare laptimes from 09 STK 1000 MAGNY COURS, PORTIMAO, BRNO. with those of 2012-13. Even though 2012 model is prettier it is also slower by 2.5 seconds a lap..

    Here is Aprilia by far is the best possible choice ...BMW is nothing more than classical product of Brandomania or mass hysteria like many things are this days that anyone who chooses to any German product has to pay, and nothing real is justified or deserved, famous BMW's quality there is just in the advertising story's old as the last victory of BMW motorcycles in the Paris Dakar Rally, which would was sometime in the early eighties, but we all kept hold of the story by one of most famous Goebbels propaganda formula "a million times repeated lies becomes bigger true than true its self" and "the bigger the lie, that people will find it easier to believe in the same" In short it is the case with BMW, Why if he is so quick they failed to win Kawasaki in most possible reference competition, as is SBK, or when it comes to quality and durability, why did not manage to win the Suzuki that costs half as much as the BMW in Endurance competition in all fields lose the competition but still everyone kept talking about how 1000RR is the best and fastest and the best quality money can buy....nonsense and Advertising corruption under the full stim, BMW spend ten time more money on Advertising and all what they comprehend like part of same, then they spend like ratio, spending on development of one product and spending one Advert campaign...that talks more than any kind of advert bullshiting, why they do that, Simply they can and brainwashed army of consumers will do even terrible stuff just to get that money for one BMW, Ducati is Exotic , Ducati wasnt take frame from Suzuki GSXR1000 k5,Ducati still fight they dream and concept of frameless bike whit V twin engine and Ducati has not like "universe wast capability for engine development" like actually BMW does make that famous engine, and than purchased from Kymco that they make for BMW motorcycles engines block, that is something which is for Ducati will be to much, especially when they know which kind of money they will "except" from they customers and customers know exactly which kind of unique engineering they will get so for me BMW is on this test bike which do not belong there, no matter of performance and BHP or Traction control etc etc. South Koreans aka Kymco have one of most sophisticated metal alloys casting factory from engines blocks to the much complicated and bigger metal alloy casting parts, so isn't any surprise that same Kymco for years is actually best quality Scooter maker, but Like Japanese SK have kind of work and business ethics, and they made a miracle whit they industry,electronic, heavy industry like is ship buildings, Car industry and now military industry like logical way of development, and all that for less than 30 years for reasonable price, and i'm hundred percent sure that they invest much more in development, and quality issue of they wide spectre of most demanding industry branches than is case whit Majority of Germans all ready "famous" Brands and branches in same period of time, because in start everything which is German made in last twenty years cost like is made it from solid gold. until true is almost on other side of "alchemy"
    P.S
    Of course that still exist some of industry in which Germans is really still the best, but that number in reality is rapidly shrinking, and all because of pure GREED

      Was all of that one sentence, lol? BMW is the most powerful, smoothest, easiest to ride fast, most capable street bike on the market. Believe the hype. It is that good. Bikes for various world championships have very little to do with stock bikes and BMW has the least of race experience of all. That might be the reason for not winning much. ;)

      It all depends on the riders preferences with confidence and comfort. A rider can have a favorite make and model, and given the chance to ride all makes and models said rider may find they're more confident and comfortable on a bike that is not their favorite.

    Are you kidding me? If you buy the Aprilia you get it for the engine. It's the only real superbike with an V4, and it is a beast. More torque than the BMW in the whole rev range too. The BMW just has an inline 4 like any other superbike out there. Not saying that it isn't a really good engine, but it is not as outstanding

    I have a S1000r excellent bike but my old 2003 rsv mille still gives me a big smile,it not worth 2000 euro even due to the miles but man there is something about Italian bikes,id sell the s1000 before the mille no joke,and I made the mistake many years ago selling my 916...oh do I lay in bed thinking about that bike...Italian bikes just have that extra something,just more soul and passion,took the s1000r to the TT lucky for me I live In Ireland and my friend took his Paginale,nothing but BMWS,ZX10S,FIREBLADES all the usual bikes on the ferry but his Ducati was fucking gorgeous compared to anything else...guys were eyeballing it everywhere,and we swapped for a run up the mountain in the evening and man oh man them Paginales can move...try an Italian trust me,they will make you smile big time.

    A v4 engine? But it has no breath against others, the BMW for exemple, its engine still superior and also has a high technology. I wouldn't pick a Aprilia...

    How does a heavily modified race bike have anything to do with a street bike? The Repsol Honda MotoGP bike absolutely dominates, does that automatically make a Honda CBR the best bike on the road? No, not really.
    Even if Aprilia is faster on the track (it's not really), they are not even taking that into consideration. The BMW is more comfortable overall, so it's the better street bike.

  • @AlbertSantoso
    @AlbertSantoso 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    While MPG shouldn't matter, when you talk street ride, it does. Not because of the money you spent, but it decides how far you can go before the next gas stop.
    I just got back from a riding trip to Salem (600 miles 1-way) on my S1000RR, it managed to do 200+ miles/tank, getting around 49 MPG (up to 53 MPG once). I wasn't going slow or just cruising with the traffic either, average speed was between 70-85 MPH.
    With the comfy seat, it's one versatile sportbike.

  • @eodaoreo
    @eodaoreo 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    HP4 reigns supreme and I've got # 585 not to mention the standard version (without the carbon fiber and a few cosmetic add ons) is under $20,000 and has everything the $25,000 competition model does performance wise. The DDC (dynamic damping control) works flawlessly. It's like having a master mechanic inside your bike setting your suspension up a hundred times per second to adjust to your riding style/conditions. Incredible machine. There's nothing out there right now that's in the same league.

  • @shamarone
    @shamarone 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    gotta wonder who the hell aprilia consulted on fitting that fuel economy map for the American market bikes while giving Europe the full power version...? if anything, that should've been the other way around. fuel in the states isn't $9 and $10 dollars a liter, not yet anyway. never mind the fact, one doesn't shop the $20,000+ price point for a motorcycle ANYWHERE on the planet with the objective of saving fuel.

  • @vaughanelphick8694

    It's why I'm still riding my 2007 1k Repsol, nothing has appealed to me as an all round package yet with all these new bikes, either not comfortable, or ugly etc etc, I'm still waiting for one to tick all the right boxes, specially in Australia where it's more expensive again to buy one of these, Ducati R as reviewed is 60k.

  • @Sorry_ImTruthful
    @Sorry_ImTruthful 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't see anything exotic about the BMW. Just because it has some carbon fiber still doesn't make it look good. Its a great bike but that Quasimodo face makes me not want to consider it. The other two bikes will be a coin toss. They look really nice

  • @MrCloobey
    @MrCloobey 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    All quality exotica !! who cares. Got the RSV 4 at present & the best bike so far I've had, thought about the duke but too much money for what it is. May be the new Honda Rcv 4 is the way to go ? don't think I've got a possible £100 k at hand tho.

  • @MarijnKramer13
    @MarijnKramer13 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    when you buy a bike like this, i think you dont care about comfort... and is less special. teh BMW is a realy great bike. but the Aprilia and the Ducati are much nicer build, a lot more special tuches. so my hart go to the Italien bikes.

  • @YodaWasSith
    @YodaWasSith 11 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @twowheeldanger

    The Beemer's Akra system is stock and EPA legal. The Duc's Termi system isn't street legal. But if you checked out our story, you'd see we dyno tested the Termi system and recorded a whopping 186 hp at the rear wheel!

  • @YodaWasSith
    @YodaWasSith 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    The face is a statement that this bike can be your street bike, or you could take it to the track and it'd compete HARD. Versatile. The feel of a street bike on a track, that's what people want.

  • @Airbag1010674
    @Airbag1010674 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is so dumb. The HP4 is under $20k, the standard that is. The "competition" version they have has blue smurf wheels and carbon fiber bits with some levers and rearsets. HP4 wins hands down.

    Thanks for releasing more on the videos than before (and still leaving some for the magazine). It is a much nicer balance than say last year. I love the looks of the BMW. I saw an RSV4 go by and then the BMW, something about the white red and blue caught my eye. I like the goofy headlights, makes it show how mental these bikes are.

    I'm upgrading to a 1000 soon and I'm just going to test ride them all because I like all of them for the most part. I just want to see what I like the most in comfort power looks etc.. I'm going to test years in between 2009/2012 because that's what fit my price range the best. If you have any pros/cons for the bike you have rode that fit in this category let's hear what you got to say?

      Mitchell Hopkins I bought a 2014 GSX-R 1000 last month. Pros and cons for that bike would probably be unique looking front end that I think looks great. Comfortable for a superbike. Cons include lack of ABS and traction control.
      I've ridden a 2013 ZX10R and I disliked it but pros and cons for that bike are good electronics package, supposedly amazing engine (honestly, I don't ride on the track so at legal speeds all the litrebikes feel pretty similar to me), and good looks. Cons include being uncomfortable, and cheap feeling, creaky plastics.
      Can't comment too much on the others, but you'll find out plenty for yourself during your test rides I'm sure. They're all largely similar handling machines on the street though as far as I can tell. Mostly up to your personal preferences regarding comfort and aesthetics.

    I commute on my RSV4. It's not that bad... it does need a 15T front sprocket and should be put in "R" mode which softens engine braking.

    Tell that to all the people who turn faster lap times on the RSV4.
