Added to the game in patch 3.23, The Adorned certainly shook up POE's gearing meta. The item is extremely strong, but demands you use it alongside a lot of weird items.

It is not a mana reservation implicit on jewels as stated in the video near 7 minutes - it is a reservation efficiency implicit which is absolutely a huge difference and is even better. The way that scales with a life reservation AND mana reservation build is insane due to reservation efficiency is actually very difficult to get without prism guardian. I have over 100% reservation efficiency from my 20 jewels (jewels and cluster jewels) all with a 2% implicit modifier and various suffixes. All with a crazy life reservation and mana reservation combo. With this you can reasily reserve large auras on the life as well where you could normally just fit a discipline and a maxed vitality, precision or similar. Now you fit another 2 large auras.
Combo this with the popular chestpiece that we all see on our inquisitors
Oh wow, I got the explicit mod (mana efficiency only) confused with the Vaal implicit (which is both).

Thank your for your excellent content, sirgog. I'd like to also mention good crafting and trade strats to get good or insane magic jewels. Including: Gilded fossil crafting to have a 50% chance to protect an insane implicit or split beasts for a three stat jewel with two excellent explicits, etc. :)

As a brand new player (literally started day 1 of necro league, only ~100 played) I see items like this and have absolutely no idea what it means even after reading the wiki, especially things like Lions Pride. 12:00 if you have a second person to drag along, one person can have an inventory of scour, the other with chance orbs, and spam it until you hit the unique with adorned, empty showcased it recently
The adorned is so far beyond my scrub skill level, but i am gobsmacked to learn there are unique vaal side areas. Playing on-and-off since breach--TIL...
You can definitely get a 115-119% one in trade pretty easily. Arguably the third best item under 10 divines this league (Taste of Hate and Headhunter being the better two, HH obviously not at a price typical for its history)
I'm certain there's something out there we're missing that would make a 50% adorned build enabling, but I haven't had much luck putting the pieces together.

It's been fun. I think I'll go later again in future, the BPL interruption somewhat wound it up. Not really enough trading for a real economy - trades happen, but private league players tend to self-select people who are SSF-oriented. I don't think I've traded with either of the level 100s, for example.

I think you should have highlighted how powerful those vaal implicits can be, besides the RMR. Like if you run as few as 6magic jewels you can get curse, poison and bleed immune from those vaal implicits alone. IT really lightens the burden on the rest of your stuff and particularly flask affixes/pantheon. Last not on that, people go crazy for bleeding immunity corruptions on rings when they could just just those magic jewels.
Adorned is too powerful as it stands. Far too many builds follow a path of budget -> mid investment -> high investment -> adorned. I love the design of the item, but I think it would be far healthier if it didn't work with cluster jewels. It didn't work with them when originally released and it was still a good item.
Got 124% adorned 30 divine it cost tried scour chancing areas took like 1200 attempts to hit chaos area then I vaal orbed area and it changed to rare area kick in the teeth. Do you need to vaal orb the unique chaos bane area or can you run it un-corrupted

Does the Vaal side areas have to be rare to corrupt them to unique? I think it shouldn't matter but I'm not sure.

@@sirgog Thx for your attempt! I will make them rare now. They don't show up too often on the map I'm running at the moment (Underground River). Maybe Reef would be better, but I already have a 143% Adorned. And thats for RF good enough. 150 would only give me some more reservation efficiency.
Adorned is so good, i think its detrimental to the game
I feel it's close to that threshold, but under it. It's not as much of a build diversity reducer as Mageblood is.
@@sirgog I would happy trade Adorned being drop disabled for That Which Was Taken being added back to the game. Adorned is a pure power item, whereas TWWT let us play with some actually 'new' (not on our class) game mechanics.
my jewels socketed into clusters seem to still be affected by the adorned buff?
Yep, those will be. They are on your tree and jewel sockets provide the buff. It's the cluster small nodes that don't scale

Scour + chancing vaal side areas is not that bad! IF you are 2 people, 1 with scours, 1 with chance orbs + click bound to scroll wheel.

i tried scour chancing, and you dont want to do this, ill never do it ever again. you dont understand how painful it is, until you do it yourself.

Am i dumb or just misundrrstanding that adorned doesnt work with jewel sockets coming from cluster?
If the buff comes from the jewel socket - +50+150%
If it comes from a different node, no boost.
If you allocate only the cluster and none of the nodes it adds to the tree and that allocation gives the boost - % increase
Build that doesn't use adorned is missing out 🤣

Correct. It's 50-50 to not brick the jewel on vaaling it, and half the time that it doesn't brick, it gets better.

I feel like adorned is genuinely overhyped. People keep using it for all builds, when in reality is worse than using rare jewels with good clusters.
For example, I took all cold dot pobs from ninja and swapped the adorned setup and I always got way more damage. The only advantage adorned has realistically is that it gives a large ES pool, which is overkill in most cases anyway. And the corruptions you get are most of the time meaningless (example: reservation is fixed already with good gear).
However, for a lancing steel trickster build, adorned is bis, since stacking ES gives you damage with ephemeral edge. So yeah, for that build I have no comment. For crit builds...it's probably bis too most likely. Also the corruptions here matter, since these builds can't put mana reservation on gear like a dot build, so adorned has even more value.
For my dot builds, this is the tierlist: meh jewels < adorned
Varies by build. Reservation though is sublime as you can get rid of other sources of the stat, or go +1 aura. For instance you have to pick one Eater implicit on helm - 12% MRE (top tier) or 8% phys taken as X (again, top tier) - with the Adorned you might be able to dump that 12% to get way tankier

Varies by build indeed, no doubt about that. The reason why I said is overhyped is that literally everyone tries to incorporate the jewel in their builds without thinking what it does and what it gives. A mindless search for adorned basically. The jewel is still insanely good regardless.
This is an unfortunate example of truly bad design. It hasn't just become a unique most high-end builds _use_ (looking at you, Mageblood), it's made the way high-end _passive trees_ are designed homogeneous and dull. It's unobtainable to most of us and there's fundamentally no way to tweak an Adorned tree to make it work without the item.
