why did they level lock div cards anyway. every map has 4 div cards and have all 4 of them drop. by making things unnecessarely complicated, they set themselves up to be exploited -.-

@@SuliXbr t1 maps are still way easier than t16, at least if you adding content to the map. 10+ essences on a t1 boss vs t16 boss for example. Quite a drastic increase in difficulty
The logical thing would have been to make brothers gift the higher level by design compared to say the garbage drop cursed words. That way you can never cull the garbage from the table. But in this case the lowest ilvl card is super valuable for some twisted reason.
I got a div in act 8 and sold it for 119c in the market yesterday. Used the chaos to buy myself enough gear to crush tier 12s from wearing level 20 stuff. That bug really sucks but if it's fixed it will work it's self out quickly. I love all the new systems so much.
I really hope they dont kill or restrict div card swapping. Just make sure all div cards drop (no blocking with tier) and potentially nerf other stuff like the guaranteed 3 rares tht drop div cards.
If they all can drop that doesn't really change much. Sure it's easier to farm but there's no more quant gear so low tier maps are just a downside since most players farming div cards. Not having influenced mobs is a pretty big loss in mob density.@@darudesandstorm7002

I had an idea about the kiraks memory that turns all loot into currency shards. If that had worked with gold, then I would have done my 1 map, reported it to GGG and asked them to remove it immediately. I used that memory in affliction to farm up a mirror, through mirror shards alone. Heist coins are turned into shards. Luckily or unlucky, gold was already disabled. I don't know if it is from all memories or just that.
SOFTCORE trade league is on fire, in HC Trade there was like 10 ppl who was able to abuse this. Most of folks barely start mapping. HC economy always was healthier
As a player who farmed up 1 div and 44 chaos up to this point... I feel like these 1%er economic events don't affect me. I'm "Old Poor"; these "New Poor" players are experiencing a bit of my life 😂
except id DOES affect you, UNLESS you play ssf, it's the reason everything is expensive as hell comparedly to where it would have been without the extra divines in the economy, mirrors are beyond week 2 price already, and it's day 3

By the end of the league I typically amassed something like 30 to 60 divines... I'm definitely not the target audience for gear that is actually expensive. (But I am having fun every league, so I got that going for me.)

Is that would be dumb to say that only ones who benefit from resets are RMTers? I'm just exited to play with new builds and new Quality of Life features like BOSS BAR showing when they are invulnerable, this is MASSIVE for new and casual players.
The question ultimately is, how many divine orbs are they still sitting on after buying out the entire market? We're only a few days in, so the number of mirrors and magebloods entering the market should continue to increase over the next week. Will these players be able to buy them all with what they have stockpiled? My instinct tells me that this was caught quickly enough that it's going to resolve itself within a few days without any further action from GGG being required. But I do agree that it shouldn't have happened and hopefully they won't be so cagey with the details next time so players can actually catch things like this ahead of time.
They are banned, which means all their inventories arent in league anymore, it will take a few days for New magebloods and mirrors to reset the economy but it should balance out now again, unless a new exploit comes up
GGG lack of communication = bad economy, tale as old as time. Hopefully they come up with a good fix before this leagues economy is dead, if it isn't already. Either way I'm still loving the league, might just play SSF for the first time if it gets too bad.
As someone who works a full-time job and has a family this is very bad news. I’ve already been left behind and now will have to farm 3x the amount of currency to get a build established. Just ruins the game and most likely already made people quit.
It helps to have a good guild that'll assist you, it doesn't even have to cost anything either for them. Just get 100 maps completed (bosskills) and you're good to go with the atlas passive tree.
dont listen to the doomers, at the time you're writing this already has no impact on you whatsoever. And even if they didn't remove the currency, it wouldn't have changed things meaningfully.
Last league there were safeties to prevent this - quite common drop everywhere cards. Tinkerer's Table, and Her Mask in low tier, The Trial in medium, Encroaching Darkness in high. Solved a lot of issues.

"Lets make a card on a T16 map gated behind the Map tier. Oh, and also introduce a possibility to PERMANENTLY shift those cards to a different map. Suuuuuurely this will not break anything." It is annoying to see, that there is basically every league an event like this and that there is no real statement of GGG. Its just like "well bad luck for all normal players or players who didnt "abuse early, abuse hard". ". As a programmer myself I am literally questioning the mental state of some decision making people at GGG. And tinfoil hat theory: this is done on purpose every league to get more publicity. This will almost always be the case because "no lifers" will be the first to the finish line where the most powerful interactions/rewards are. If you aren't no lifeing the first 3-5 days, you are going to be poor. Even without exploits like this.
This is not a big deal. People flip out about these things and then it turns out not to be a big deal for the vast majority of players. It can even help in some cases.
It's a great find for the lucky few that were able to use it early on. I'd be thrilled as well if I managed to figure out such a rare interaction. Hopefully the economy will balance out over time.
it really blows for early league though since people are so div starved but then there's a huge amount of divs plugged into the economy, drastically lowering their value and this driving up the corresponding div value of gear.
This should be an important lesson for GGG. Everything in regards to ballance is completely irrelevant, if the economy fucking implodes. Disclose anything that can potentiall fuck with it beforehand next time? idk. Also IMO - MB's costing 100 divs instead of the usual 400 or sth was a good thing. Its good to have chase uniques, but its not ok if 99,99% of the playerbase will never see one in their life. Obtaining even one in a private league takes an absurd amount of time and luck too, if it ever happens. Same with every other t0 etc.

Still working through red maps ATM, but managed to get a very solid build and done a few of the new content bosses and unique mods by just farming and trading scarabs as I do my atlas. Atleast 5 divs worth of gear and an annoited amulet. The currency trade is a god send.

I like the streamers who went offline relatively poor.. then had their magebloods/headhunters when they went back online.. "oh yeah I found a good farm but I couldnt stream it because I didnt want it to become devalued."
GGG should be more transparent with the changes, other undocumented changes that shouldn't be undocumented was removal of Attack Speed affix from flasks and Rituals now spawning the overtuned Wildwood enemies that slap chaos damage everywhere.
This is why I stopped playing, Im not mad, and I'll say what I said in my steam review. I'm just constantly disappointed each league, nothing more can really be said.

I don't have a problem with such people being banned, for me its an exploit that should be reported to the devs even if its a legitimate game system, not capitalized on by you and your friends to ruin the economy of a game.
I think the really bad actor part of this is how they immediately started market manipulation It may have not been cheating but they knew it was grossly not intended to be that easy and immediately start to abuse it
I mean this sucks and their items should be sent to standard.... But if divines dropped in beach instead of wisdoms, would running beach be bannable? If ggg accidently made apothecary 50 000 times more common would looting apo be bannable? It's not like they missused a mechanic. They used 2 mechanic the exact way they are meant to be used. It's just overlooked by ggg.

In those examples people didn’t set out to use mechanics that they knew weren’t intended, they just stumbled upon them. Maybe that’s a distinction without a difference, but I don’t think that should be bannable anyway. The market manipulation might be ban worthy but I don’t know. Had they just hoarded the wealth and only bought what they needed I don’t think anyone else would have been affected, but intentionally buying up all the chase items to re price and control the economy using interactions you know weren’t intended is something I could be convinced warrants a temporary ban. I mean, why even do that when you already have enough currency to buy everything you need?

Everything which can be farmed by a handful of people in 2 days will be diluted in a few days. I am more concerned that GGG apparently does not realize the most obvious exploits. The first thing you think about when adding the option to switch div cards between maps is the possibility to transfer high-value cards to other maps and to block the other drops. It's such an obvious exploit, the same as the "div frogs" in 3.24. Shocking oversights.
Id like to point on out forbidden trove makes 10s of thousands of divs and nothing is ever done and thye run pretty much the entire market for high grade items or desired items.
I hope their trade market have some logs about the trades and could catch them. It's always the same players also. They look at what is broken every league and abuse it. It's like a race. Yet GGG knows who some of them are, they do nothing.
Your solution is rather fair, but I do wish there was more of a honor system reward for players like you who tend to find things like this and announce it publicly. Cheers
They should design a Spiffing Brit Helmet mtx to give out to players exploiting intended mechanics in obviously unintended ways. There is no good solution to this, and I can only hope that the trade economy will not be as impacted as to never recover in the next couple weeks...
I get that it's something they found within the game that was completely broken, but that's just it it was broken. The fact that they did not report it is what makes it an exploit. I wholeheartedly agree with the ban. If they would have said something about it GGG probably would have been like okay roll back no harm no foul
I think they should have just left it in. Just means Divine orbs would drop in worth and probably exalts or something else would raise in price. If you make it so the Divine orb are basically worth nothing. No harm no foul. However, since they removed it, it just means all those people that took advantage of it win
that does not work, it's far from that simple divines are not expensive solely from their rarity, they are as rare as exalts on about 1:1 ratio; and those are 7c. divine orbs are used on the crafting bench to apply most metacraft; crafts used to deterministicly make desired endgame itens, while also being used to rerrol mods on important uniques making them pisscheap would make a lot of gg rare items pisscheap and unique rolls wouldn't matter, it would crash the market big time
@@ColderHeat_ I didn't really say or mean for it to be the best end-all solution. We would end up with a 3.23 type market, not quite as bad as 3.24 though. Exalts would probably would go up to at least 20c. Divines would probably end up around 40ish. Like you said, they're used for quite a few things. The economy is player driven. Also don't forget this is running tier one maps. The only thing you would be getting is the card for the most part. You might get some other little stuff from the map, but nothing like running tier 16s. People would compensate by running other things. A bunch of divines flooding the market does no good if you have nothing to spend them on. Obviously the best solution was ggg not letting this happen in the first place lol. It does seem like they came with a decent solution I guess and they didn't do what they did in 3.24 which freaking ruined the league in my opinion. Hot fixing stuff and not removing the results of the mechanic. Just ruined 3.24.

That's illegal in the real world for a reason. They should be banned for philosophical reasons as those players attempted to ruin the game.
They got banned. Anyone not with reddit IQ can see this was an exploit by the definition of use of an error to gain benefit in a way that was NOT intended. T10 map drops in t1 was not intended, nor was making 10k div an hours, more than than the last few leagues.
This seems to be completely within the boundaries of clever use of game mechanics. It is not a bug. GGG just did not think this through before going live. If it was a mere bug, they wouldnt have to disable the divination scarab. sirgog's proposed resolution seems the most fair.
GGG needs a catchall to protect from people using mechanics in an unintended way and breaking the market like this. They could state that if you find an interaction that is generating more than x div/hour then it should be considered an exploit.
@@sirgog Is that really worse? I know it was powerful, but it was still pretty core use of the league mechanic. This seems more like a manipulation. Not sure the ban is totally warranted, but I understand why they moved quickly. They stockpiled like 15K divine and used it to hoard T0s. I think the behavior of trying to take over the market after they farmed 15k div may have been the tipping point. Doubt they would have been banned if they just built their character and didn't try to blow up the market.
while spooky seeming, my impression is that is 100% "blip" level issue. last league had numerous tier-0 printing strategies over time and they went on for days and days and were easily replicated to anyone with knowledge of the method, which was spread far and wide by numerous methods. this div card situation seems to have lasted maybe a few hours, so it wasn't spread much, and even those who would have heard would have been *heavily* limited by their ability to acquire T16 Siege or Burial Chambers maps, then get the seer to do the swap, then get the scarabs, then exploit. if this happened deeper into the league it may have been worse but all in all i don't see indications in the economy that anything odd has happened... so it really seems like a small amount of currency (relatively speaking to the whole economy) was generated.

If I was GGG I would put out a blanket statement by GGG that they can easily track when someone is exploiting and they will ban people for it if they don't report it and use it. If they report it and GGG says it is fine, go ahead use the special interaction. And yes you can email GGG you dont need to post it publicly if that is a concern. Im open to hear why this would not be a good idea for the wide audience.
Agree on exploiters. This... isn't exploiting though. This is GGG making a mistake that should have been caught - except they decided "let's be secretive about div card changes" If the card changes were detailled in the patch notes, it would have been like the Taming. GGG would change it after realising what would happen if it went live.
Honestly, the game shouldn't be balanced around trading. GGG should realise this and limit it severely or outright get rid of it. It drains so much development resources, it is a shame.

This was CLEARLY unintended. If they had used this 2-3 times to be sure it actually works and then reported it, nobody would have minded. But they took a situation and derived unfair advantage (since most people can't nolife a game to keep up with this kind of retards). And not only did they derive an unfair advantage, they also threatened to ruin the trade economy for most other people. If this isn't an exploit, I don't know what is. They deserve every second of their permabans.
They shouldn't get anything for exploiting. They should get their accounts suspended for the duration of the league. By not taking corrective action, GGG is promoting this behavior.

I heard that some of the peak exploiters got banned this time. But I'm surprised that this wasn't intended. Farming div cards with Kirac missions has been a thing for a long time, and they made the div card restrictions intentionally I assume?
There's no way an A tier div card was meant to drop in white maps. It's an oversight that was being abused. I was also told they were banned and a ton of their unique hoard was deleted.

I just hoping in next league GGG they add mailbox or achievement board so these kind of problematic/hotfixing bugs/exploits all players are conpensated
Yet another league krangled due to exploit, hope this effect does not last long. Happened on the current last epoch cycle as well and made me change from trade to ssf over there since the prices just didnt make sense.
If you were doing this and printing divines for such a low investment it's pretty obviously not an intended mechanic / in the "spirit of the game". Most of the players doing these exploits are already in the top 0.1% for currency generation. It's such a selfish thing to do, to tank the economy for tens of thousands of other players who have lives / jobs / ethics.
Seems like we are talking about hundreds of thousands. I do not believe the people talking about tens of millions. That is simply too many. A single currency stash tab can hold 105000 div. Personally I can 2 stash, so in theory I could hold 210000. A quad tab that is 24x24x20, 11520. That is a bit over 1/10 of a currency stash.... So tens of millions is logically impossible. Then there is the time to open the cards. Let us say 5 second per card. Only full stash at a time. That is 5 minutes, to get 300 div. Let us just say 6 man group.1800 div per 5 min. If they did this for 48 hours, without taking a break, then we are talking about 1 million div, per group. Of course each group would only need 600 scarabs and T1 maps. That is nothing! In terms of cost and time.
Oh common we know EXACTLY how it's gonna get resolved. Like its has been resolved all the other time when that happens : 3.20,3.21,3.24 etc. Nothing is gonna happens
And here I am on Monday, just about to finish the campaign, with 5 c to show for it, while people have made 250 000 divines. PoE constantly teaches us about the evils of rampant capitalism and infinite money glitches.
I appreciate the thought that they are trying to make sure the game is fun and if you don't like Crimson Temple or want to run a variety of maps and still want to grind a Mageblood through Apothecary cards you can do it, but just stop. They literally said they don't want Div cards to be the main source of items and then they are doing everything they can to make div cards the main source by making it easier to get them. If somebody wants to grind one map for Apothecary cards, they will and that is their choice. GGG needs to remove these stupid div scarabs that only really benefits the min-maxers and stop fucking up the league economies to try to accommodate the degenerates that no life the game and will get all the divine orbs and items they want because they'll play 4,000 hours this league anyway.
It would be a much better look if they didn't keep this secret or selected a few knowledge able ACTUAL players that know how to break shit to give their changes a good review and fix things up front than to have to keep emergency patching unintended exploits after the economy get ruined and piss people off.
I feel secondhand embarrassment seeing people transplant their hate of the "real world 1%" into the "wraeclast 1%" like there could be any comparsion between the two in terms of organization, scale, scope or even simple human consequences.
You know, I actually think banning the people is completely fine. This was CLEARLY an unintended exploit, and I think GGG are pretty clear on unintended exploits. There's a difference between being able to print rare items and being able to print currency. Rare items, honestly, aren't thaaat much of a problem. The only difference is that last league, top tier players had to find other ways to make money than to farm Magebloods, and a few people that couldn't get a mageblood otherwise got to try it out. This league, printing currency for a short time means that you get to obliterate trade, possibly for the whole league. Those two are not the same. One is unfortunate, the other is ban-worthy, at least IMO, and GGG would be in their right to say - yo, fuckers, why didn't you report this instead of spamming it for hours on end?

Last time I played on affliction prices for essences were good and my money was flowing, but now essences worth piss 😂 wtf happened

I got a div in act 8 and sold it for 119c in the market yesterday. Used the chaos to buy myself enough gear to crush tier 12s from wearing level 20 stuff. That bug really sucks but if it's fixed it will work it's self out quickly. I love all the new systems so much.
I really hope they dont kill or restrict div card swapping. Just make sure all div cards drop (no blocking with tier) and potentially nerf other stuff like the guaranteed 3 rares tht drop div cards.
Then people will farm higher tier cards in low tier maps if there's no limiting it by tiers...
If they all can drop that doesn't really change much. Sure it's easier to farm but there's no more quant gear so low tier maps are just a downside since most players farming div cards. Not having influenced mobs is a pretty big loss in mob density.@@darudesandstorm7002

I had an idea about the kiraks memory that turns all loot into currency shards. If that had worked with gold, then I would have done my 1 map, reported it to GGG and asked them to remove it immediately. I used that memory in affliction to farm up a mirror, through mirror shards alone. Heist coins are turned into shards.
Luckily or unlucky, gold was already disabled. I don't know if it is from all memories or just that.

By the end of the league I typically amassed something like 30 to 60 divines... I'm definitely not the target audience for gear that is actually expensive. The question ultimately is, how many divine orbs are they still sitting on after buying out the entire market? We're only a few days in, so the number of mirrors and magebloods entering the market should continue to increase over the next week. Will these players be able to buy them all with what they have stockpiled? My instinct tells me that this was caught quickly enough that it's going to resolve itself within a few days without any further action from GGG being required.
But I do agree that it shouldn't have happened and hopefully they won't be so cagey with the details next time so players can actually catch things like this ahead of time.
They are banned, which means all their inventories arent in league anymore, it will take a few days for New magebloods and mirrors to reset the economy but it should balance out now again, unless a new exploit comes up

It helps to have a good guild that'll assist you, it doesn't even have to cost anything either for them. Just get 100 maps completed (bosskills) and you're good to go with the atlas passive tree.

Last league there were safeties to prevent this - quite common drop everywhere cards. Tinkerer's Table, and Her Mask in low tier, The Trial in medium, Encroaching Darkness in high. Solved a lot of issues.

It is annoying to see, that there is basically every league an event like this and that there is no real statement of GGG. Its just like "well bad luck for all normal players or players who didnt "abuse early, abuse hard". ". This will almost always be the case because "no lifers" will be the first to the finish line where the most powerful interactions/rewards are. If you aren't no lifeing the first 3-5 days, you are going to be poor. Even without exploits like this.

It's a great find for the lucky few that were able to use it early on. I'd be thrilled as well if I managed to figure out such a rare interaction. Hopefully the economy will balance out over time.
it really blows for early league though since people are so div starved but then there's a huge amount of divs plugged into the economy, drastically lowering their value and this driving up the corresponding div value of gear.
This should be an important lesson for GGG. Everything in regards to ballance is completely irrelevant, if the economy fucking implodes. Disclose anything that can potentiall fuck with it beforehand next time? idk.
Also IMO - MB's costing 100 divs instead of the usual 400 or sth was a good thing. Its good to have chase uniques, but its not ok if 99,99% of the playerbase will never see one in their life. Obtaining even one in a private league takes an absurd amount of time and luck too, if it ever happens. Same with every other t0 etc.

Still working through red maps ATM, but managed to get a very solid build and done a few of the new content bosses and unique mods by just farming and trading scarabs as I do my atlas.
Atleast 5 divs worth of gear and an annoited amulet. The currency trade is a god send.

I don't have a problem with such people being banned, for me its an exploit that should be reported to the devs even if its a legitimate game system, not capitalized on by you and your friends to ruin the economy of a game.

If ggg accidently made apothecary 50 000 times more common would looting apo be bannable? It's not like they missused a mechanic. They used 2 mechanic the exact way they are meant to be used. In those examples people didn’t set out to use mechanics that they knew weren’t intended, they just stumbled upon them.
Maybe that’s a distinction without a difference, but I don’t think that should be bannable anyway. The market manipulation might be ban worthy but I don’t know. Had they just hoarded the wealth and only bought what they needed I don’t think anyone else would have been affected, but intentionally buying up all the chase items to re price and control the economy using interactions you know weren’t intended is something I could be convinced warrants a temporary ban. I mean, why even do that when you already have enough currency to buy everything you need?

Everything which can be farmed by a handful of people in 2 days will be diluted in a few days. I am more concerned that GGG apparently does not realize the most obvious exploits. The first thing you think about when adding the option to switch div cards between maps is the possibility to transfer high-value cards to other maps and to block the other drops. It's such an obvious exploit, the same as the "div frogs" in 3.24. Shocking oversights.
Id like to point on out forbidden trove makes 10s of thousands of divs and nothing is ever done and thye run pretty much the entire market for high grade items or desired items.
They shouldn't be rewarded for this. Delete everything and punish them.

I hope their trade market have some logs about the trades and could catch them. It's always the same players also. They look at what is broken every league and abuse it. It's like a race. Yet GGG knows who some of them are, they do nothing.

They should design a Spiffing Brit Helmet mtx to give out to players exploiting intended mechanics in obviously unintended ways. There is no good solution to this, and I can only hope that the trade economy will not be as impacted as to never recover in the next couple weeks...
I get that it's something they found within the game that was completely broken, but that's just it it was broken. The fact that they did not report it is what makes it an exploit. I wholeheartedly agree with the ban. If they would have said something about it GGG probably would have been like okay roll back no harm no foul

divines are not expensive solely from their rarity, they are as rare as exalts on about 1:1 ratio; and those are 7c.
divine orbs are used on the crafting bench to apply most metacraft; crafts used to deterministicly make desired endgame itens, while also being used to rerrol mods on important uniques
making them pisscheap would make a lot of gg rare items pisscheap and unique rolls wouldn't matter, it would crash the market big time
@@ColderHeat_ I didn't really say or mean for it to be the best end-all solution. We would end up with a 3.23 type market, not quite as bad as 3.24 though. Exalts would probably would go up to at least 20c. Divines would probably end up around 40ish. Like you said, they're used for quite a few things. The economy is player driven. Also don't forget this is running tier one maps. The only thing you would be getting is the card for the most part. You might get some other little stuff from the map, but nothing like running tier 16s. People would compensate by running other things. A bunch of divines flooding the market does no good if you have nothing to spend them on. Obviously the best solution was ggg not letting this happen in the first place lol.
It does seem like they came with a decent solution I guess and they didn't do what they did in 3.24 which freaking ruined the league in my opinion. Hot fixing stuff and not removing the results of the mechanic. Just ruined 3.24.

That's illegal in the real world for a reason. They should be banned for philosophical reasons as those players attempted to ruin the game.

This seems to be completely within the boundaries of clever use of game mechanics. It is not a bug. GGG just did not think this through before going live. If it was a mere bug, they wouldnt have to disable the divination scarab. sirgog's proposed resolution seems the most fair.

GGG needs a catchall to protect from people using mechanics in an unintended way and breaking the market like this. They could state that if you find an interaction that is generating more than x div/hour then it should be considered an exploit.
They didn't ban anyone for FAR worse in Affliction - the abyss multiproj exploit thousands were doing

They stockpiled like 15K divine and used it to hoard T0s. I think the behavior of trying to take over the market after they farmed 15k div may have been the tipping point. Doubt they would have been banned if they just built their character and didn't try to blow up the market.

People won't want to hear this but the solution to this kind of economy problem is to make rare uniques more common instead of less.
This is why I stopped playing POE for a while, eventually they just kept on messing up like this and I guess they still do.

while spooky seeming, my impression is that is 100% "blip" level issue. last league had numerous tier-0 printing strategies over time and they went on for days and days and were easily replicated to anyone with knowledge of the method, which was spread far and wide by numerous methods. this div card situation seems to have lasted maybe a few hours, so it wasn't spread much, and even those who would have heard would have been *heavily* limited by their ability to acquire T16 Siege or Burial Chambers maps, then get the seer to do the swap, then get the scarabs, then exploit. if this happened deeper into the league it may have been worse but all in all i don't see indications in the economy that anything odd has happened... so it really seems like a small amount of currency (relatively speaking to the whole economy) was generated.

If the card changes were detailled in the patch notes, it would have been like the Taming. GGG would change it after realising what would happen if it went live.
Honestly, the game shouldn't be balanced around trading. GGG should realise this and limit it severely or outright get rid of it. It drains so much development resources, it is a shame.

This was CLEARLY unintended. If they had used this 2-3 times to be sure it actually works and then reported it, nobody would have minded. But they took a situation and derived unfair advantage (since most people can't nolife a game to keep up with this kind of retards). And not only did they derive an unfair advantage, they also threatened to ruin the trade economy for most other people. If this isn't an exploit, I don't know what is. There's no way an A tier div card was meant to drop in white maps. It's an oversight that was being abused.

Yet another league krangled due to exploit, hope this effect does not last long. Happened on the current last epoch cycle as well and made me change from trade to ssf over there since the prices just didnt make sense.
If you were doing this and printing divines for such a low investment it's pretty obviously not an intended mechanic / in the "spirit of the game". Most of the players doing these exploits are already in the top 0.1% for currency generation. It's such a selfish thing to do, to tank the economy for tens of thousands of other players who have lives / jobs / ethics.

You did not mention "kirac's mission to find a dev card" that GGG supposedly emergency patched from their own notes.
Seems like we are talking about hundreds of thousands. I do not believe the people talking about tens of millions. That is simply too many. A single currency stash tab can hold 105000 div. Personally I can 2 stash, so in theory I could hold 210000. A quad tab that is 24x24x20, 11520. That is a bit over 1/10 of a currency stash.... So tens of millions is logically impossible. Then there is the time to open the cards. Let us say 5 second per card. Only full stash at a time. That is 5 minutes, to get 300 div. Let us just say 6 man group.1800 div per 5 min.
If they did this for 48 hours, without taking a break, then we are talking about 1 million div, per group.
Of course each group would only need 600 scarabs and T1 maps. That is nothing! In terms of cost and time.

And here I am on Monday, just about to finish the campaign, with 5 c to show for it, while people have made 250 000 divines. PoE constantly teaches us about the evils of rampant capitalism and infinite money glitches.
I appreciate the thought that they are trying to make sure the game is fun and if you don't like Crimson Temple or want to run a variety of maps and still want to grind a Mageblood through Apothecary cards you can do it, but just stop. They literally said they don't want Div cards to be the main source of items and then they are doing everything they can to make div cards the main source by making it easier to get them. If somebody wants to grind one map for Apothecary cards, they will and that is their choice. GGG needs to remove these stupid div scarabs that only really benefits the min-maxers and stop fucking up the league economies to try to accommodate the degenerates that no life the game and will get all the divine orbs and items they want because they'll play 4,000 hours this league anyway.
It would be a much better look if they didn't keep this secret or selected a few knowledge able ACTUAL players that know how to break shit to give their changes a good review and fix things up front than to have to keep emergency patching unintended exploits after the economy get ruined and piss people off.
I feel secondhand embarrassment seeing people transplant their hate of the "real world 1%" into the "wraeclast 1%" like there could be any comparsion between the two in terms of organization, scale, scope or even simple human consequences.
You know, I actually think banning the people is completely fine. This was CLEARLY an unintended exploit, and I think GGG are pretty clear on unintended exploits. There's a difference between being able to print rare items and being able to print currency. Rare items, honestly, aren't thaaat much of a problem. The only difference is that last league, top tier players had to find other ways to make money than to farm Magebloods, and a few people that couldn't get a mageblood otherwise got to try it out.
This league, printing currency for a short time means that you get to obliterate trade, possibly for the whole league. Those two are not the same. One is unfortunate, the other is ban-worthy, at least IMO, and GGG would be in their right to say - yo, fuckers, why didn't you report this instead of spamming it for hours on end?
