this is great man - thanks so much for taking the time to document this process. will save me a ton of time when I get around to doing it. I love to add modern amenities to my mx-3 as well.
Awesome video!! Your channel is like the "cliffs notes" for us MX-3 owners/lovers. I kind of want to keep mine "old school", but your video makes this mod so painless and the unit is so inexpensive I just might give it a try. So glad I found your channel!!!
Yea, the glow needles are a must have in my book. You can still keep the "old school" look and keep the green, just add the white glow needles. Check out the Porsche 911R (991) gauge cluster for the retro look. Thanks again for your support brother!
@@illrolla16 Something to consider. I have a '92 GS which has a more "conservative" dash. The stock panel fits with the overall "vibe" better than it does with the more elaborate dash in your car. I guess I like the simplicity...It reminds me of the gauges of motorcycles I used to ride in the 70's!...Dating myself....
Great videos! I have my 94 since I bought new. How is the Banvie holding up as I think I am going to get this or similar since I think my ignition switch is failing?
That's awesome that you have a 1 owner mx-3! They're rare nowadays. The RFID is still holding up just fine. Definitely worth it in my opinion for security/cool factor. Let me know how it works out for you, thanks for watching!
@@illrolla16 The install went well. used a toggle switch instead of break pedal incase I need to crank if engine stalls while driving. My air meter had been acting up at the time and caused some stalls.
@@illrolla16 Have you ever hit up any junkyards in your area? I am pretty sure all the ones around here in South FL stopped holding Mazdas from the 90s and I need a new windshield header, the metal right under glass and roof.
Most older cars do not have an immobilizer security system. However, if you are installing this in a newer car, with security measure, the same company sells an "immobilizer bypass" on amazon. You will need that.
When completing your performance build please ensure that you don’t have “ugly keys”🤤 I’m just playing man. Just did this to my Camaro after the ignition barrel broke and got stuck in the on position. It was easier to install an aftermarket keyless ignition than to replace the ancient ignition switch (guts of the steering column have to be removed). The primitive anti theft system was a pain in the ass, so it got treated like a tumor and cut out, after which the car started just fine. I’m real curious to see what kind of life I get out of this thing
Banvie is the worst brand ever, it just cut or disconnected the ignition2 wire without warning, (i installed two different models of banvie, the same problem after 6 to 7 months most) and ignition2 for my car is the radiator cooling fan and air conditioning. If I didn't Pay Attention, I could get car engine overheating, i used to let the car running if i do somthing that takes from 1 to 10 minutes, that enoght time to get you engine burned up if the ignition2 wire disconnected. First start button was 70 dollar easyguard model that lasted 8 months and when stopped working, it cut the main ignition, your car stopped working, like Banvi cut the ignition2 wire, and the car kept running like nothing happened. Now i installed an expensive easyguard model $130, and see how long will last, ofcourse, i will buy another one the same model soon, and keep it as spare, when the it stops working, I will just change the main computer box and problem solved.
Why doesn’t this video have more views!! This is the video I was looking for! Thanks man!

Miss my mx3 driving a e class now but tink I need a mx3 back in my live I'm form Ireland love you mx3 video 👍
Thank you sir! Hopefully you can find an mx3 and enjoy the awesome roads in Ireland
You could put the RF id receiver from outside the car then it will unlocked the car and you do not need to unlock the car using your key.
Wonder if one can put the RFID CHIP inside a keyless entry 🤔
Yes, but it requires a few extra steps according to the instructions!
Nice car man im gonna buy a mx3 in 2025
Awesome instructions bro imma have to do this to my mx3 👍 👍
man i'm trying to find an angle kit for the mx3 but it simply doesn't exists, where can i find one?
What do you mean by angle kit?
@@illrolla16 my english isn’t the better so I’ll link a video about it here th-cam.com/video/39ACFSrZJrM/w-d-xo.html
They don't make an steering angle kit for the mx3, you would have to make a custom one from another car probably.
Very detailed and helpfull video thank you for posting it
NP, thanks for watching!
Thats awesome! Hey would this work for a carbureted 1991 mazda b2200?
Yes, this is universal and will work on any car with an keyed ignition i believe. Just make sure you confirm the wiring. Good luck!
So you completely pulled out the cylinder?
Yes, but now that i think about it, could of left it in place for an easy swap back to a regular key.
Do you need a extra bypass system for cars that have a chip in the keys?

Hi, I don't understand what happens to the coded chip security part of the ignition system. How is that bypassed?

Hi I'm ask about my polo classic I want to conting
I’m buying a 2017 Chevy Silverado will this work on it as well
Yes, but you may have to buy an immobilizer bypass to avoid issues with the chevy security system.
