- One of the most captivating moments of the Code 2023 conference was when Linda Yaccarino, current CEO of X, took the stage just an hour after Yoel Roth, former Head of Trust and Safety at Twitter appeared as a surprise guest opposite Kara Swisher. He spoke about death threats, X’s current engagement, and said Yaccarino “should be worried.” Yaccarino used part of her own interview to respond. #Twitter #Technology #Code2023

"He worked at Twitter, I work at X." One minute later... "The team at Twitter are great."
To be fair, the pressure must have been at titanic levels. Considering that she kept it composed at least.
@@flexplexico480Is that what you’d call…this?

💀
Yup, lol, at around 3:15 into it

Thank you Linda, stop generating.
Funniest comment ever. And sadly true in this case. I just hope she’s getting paid well.
@@BrandonCarson I hope she gets paid what she's worth, nothing
I've always advocated AI is not going to be a threat to humans so long as it replaces the crooked politicians and ruthless businesspeople. Even so, the engineers and programmers must be accountable.
I've been arguing for a while that we're replacing the wrong people with AIs. Ditch the executive suite, let AI take on their jobs.
The only concern is I'm not sure we want to teach AI engine to speak in such a narcissistic manner 😂
I don’t usually waste time watching stuff like this, but this was like a hilarious comedy sketch. I’m only halfway through. This is golden. Grabbing a drink before watching the rest.
Doing the same, I went to grab breakfast tacos and a coke because I’m starting my morning the right way 😂
omg. drinking game. yessssssss.
The fact that she looks and sounds exactly like Andrea Martin *doing a sketch* doesn't do her any favors.
It's that really uncomfortable to watch comedy where your mouth is open the entire time, because you cannot comprehend wtf is going on.
Hahaha, think I’ll grab a drink too, haha
One of the most bizarre interviews I've ever seen. She must have a neuralink chip in.

I believe she was thrown off by the on stage assassination and set-up that everyone was acting like wasn’t on purpose.

I love hearing her ask the interviewer what Musk said about moving "X" to a subscription-based service. Because she didn't know. Because, you know, she's totally CEO.

Its type cope and BS you hear coming out of right wing idiots. How ironic.
her dismissiveness and 'hand-waiving' seems to be how she lives her work life apparently, downplaying and mocking. She'd fit right in at Theranos.
later she whines that the crowd "gets those good chuckles" at her expense
saying something that you do (like chuckles) it must be one of those weird social media things
The condescending tone says a lot about her own insecurities.
Two things you never want your CEO to be on a stage: shaken and off-message.
This comment is on point.
I expected she’d have more media training than what she displayed. I’ve prepped CEOs for tough interviews and it’s a skill that takes time and a certain calmness and humility with a side of conviction for a successful interview. Linda displayed none of that. She was panicked, entitled, rude, condescending and worst of all, ill-prepared.
While sipping from her water: "I think my background is being a very senior executive". What a wild interview indeed.
It’s kind of like Beach.
this is SXSW i guarantee something psychedelic is in that 'water'
I REALLY miss SNL during this moments
20:29
So… her background is being a do-nothing liar for money?
So basically what I’m hearing is that her job as CEO is to field DMs from angry users.
Honestly shocked to hear a CEO be so disconnected with what is happening in her company and couple that with such arrogance in her responses. This is the worst of the worst.
all that is left to a CEO without control on her company is arrogance
I think calling it "her company" is a bit disingenuous. It's very much Elon's company.
And I think that's the problem: It feels like a lot of her role there is to just be a public punching bag that sheild Elon Musk from having g to be the one embarrasssed in that interview.
I'm sure the money's good, but man do I nit envy the position she's in with this.
Thought now would be a good time to check back in to remind the brain dead people that no, X has not become 100% paid subscribers as the interviewer lied about. Elon said that was a way to fight bots, not that this was an imminent change. Facts vs emotional fiction
AHAHAHA cope and seethe! I love her!
I think she represents Elon pretty well. They both deserve each other
Seems like she has a job similar to Trump’s press secretaries: appeasing your boss while trying to spin whatever thing he just tweeted/said without any warning or preparation.
As opposed to the ADL humiliating themselves by trying and failing miserably to destroy X? The ADL have become the joke; to require the backing of "61+" groups including the humanitarians at 'Media Matters for America'?
Duh, Karine jean pierre does the same thing for the Biden/DNC machine on the daily.

I'd say it's one of the best interviews. Cause now I have a VERY good idea of what things are like inside of Twitter.
If I used the excuse “it’s only my first 100 days” so many times, I’d expect to be fired. She’s the CEO?

How in the world is she a CEO of anything?
Because nobody with integrity or skill actually wants to work for a adult man child ketamine junkie.
Well, just listen. She's clearly a sociopath and on the spectrum. She's going through the moves that she thinks humans make. Every move is thought about, considered, and executed with a purpose. Right? She’s your college friend’s weird girlfriend who your friend tells you is unbelievable in bed.
she tried to get them to laugh at, supposedly, her friend for not reading a long, awful, sycophantic book
I couldn't agree more. I felt like we were watching someone who is used to being sucked up to who has ZERO ability to read the room. If she wanted to be seen as credible, she should have given him respect even if she didn't see eye to eye, and stuck to the facts to defend her company rather than the character of a critic. I went into this interview with an open mind. It seemed like she handled it ok at first, and she is obviously in a very tough spot and there are many questions that she just can't answer. But honestly, it is painful to watch this interview. She is trying so hard to weasel out of every tough question, but she just doesn't make it.
This was excruciating to watch
She totally embarrassed herself and has ruined her credibility. Deflection, avoiding to answer hard questions, answering her own questions.
I don't know how anyone walks away believing her about the company somehow being on the road to profitability based off of what she said in this.
It is WORD salad and embarrassing
The answering your own questions thing is such an interesting tactic. I hadn't actually heard of it referred to in such terms, but it's such a deceptive and off-putting thing to hear people use as a rhetorical tool.
This was an outstanding job by the journalists. You have to put them on the spot to answer some tough questions and go past their BS narrative.
Not one question actually answered...the key one that was avoided 'are you going to charge users?'....she doesn't know...however, she thinks she knows everything and is awesome...and if she is still in role in a year, I will eat my hat

Not sure, but I'd definitely need to be drunk if I had to sit in meetings with this knucklehead.
Difficult watch, thanks for sharing.
What's up with all those pseudo-power moves? Lots of hand gestures, interruptions, and gumming to the audience? The whole thing was weird.
during year 9 I tried to wing my science presentation with lots of talking, a combative approach to my classmates and some cheap prisms and a torch I found that morning. it went slightly better than this interview.

You can watch Yoel Roth's full interview here: th-cam.com/video/M9XoUUYeZD8/w-d-xo.html
The contrast couldn't be more striking.
So, you all thought it was a good idea to pin the Yoel video on Linda's video but didn't do the same on his interview?
No we can't. It's insufferable.
He still knows dramatically more about the subject matter than this stooge CEO.
Twitter got flushed down the toilet the moment when the stable genius bought the company.....good riddance X.
She doesn't seems anywhere near as belivable as Yoel. I'm being kind.
Remember on Elon's first day when a lady working there asked him if he was planning on laying off 75% of the staff and he said (facetiously), "I'm not sure where you're getting that number.". But of course he actually did exactly that.
"I'm not sure where you're getting that number" means "as soon as I find out, they're fired"
she's an expert in yapping
Linda Yapparino
Wow, pure chaos. Her jacket’s inside-out, she doesn’t seem to know what’s going on within the company, or even the company’s new name. She avoids answering the questions and turns to the audience for approval, just like her boss.
I know corporate BS when I hear it, and I will chuckle, when she is fired, all in the name of dynamic change, of course.
For $6M a year, the LEAST Linda could do is walk out on the stage. She thinks she deserves a round of applause for not running away? That's a REALLY LOW BAR.
Part Adam Neumann, Part Elizabeth Holmes, Part Kellyanne Conway
Too much Elizabeth Holmes
Goddamn you're spot on, I see all of it. She's shaking with rage at the start, which I have to admit I find hilarious
Kellyanne Conway, Edith Prickley and Teresa Heinz.
Otherwise known as the FMK situation where I kill myself. @@1247.cccccc

Good god, the difference in watching the Zuck interview compared to this is just night and day, Linda is just lost and grabbing for straws.
I never thought I would hear anybody say Zuck is the sanest person in the room, but dang, I guess we're all doomed
I was gonna say…. Having less stage presence than Zuck is sad 😞
"The team at Twitter is fantastic." So she doesn't know the name of her company.
Oh, joy! For a moment there , I mistook this for a rejected SNL sketch. Comparing this to the Yoel interview, it would be like mistaking a Picasso for a preschooler's doodle. She's serving us some serious Kellyanne Conway realness. How... delightful 🙄 Good luck ‘X’ Yikes!
Holding my breath for the moment she tears off her inside out blazer, flips over the table, and fights the journalist.
the Kriss Kross of CEOs.
Not that I have any sympathy for her, but can't imagine she pictured herself 4 months into the new job in an interview stumbling through an incomprehensible answer about why the owner of her company is threatening to sue the ADL.
You could teach a seminar about disastrous organizational leadership just studying this video.
"my background is being a very senior executive". Lol
This proves that CEOs are out of touch and overpaid, she has no excuse she's been an executive for over 20 years just roaming around being paid weird amounts of money to be out of touch and ramble
She has no excuse for what? I am unclear what is being referenced here. Did you listen to the interview?
@@christopherhale580 no excuse for being a buffoon with no knowledge of what's going on in her own failing company, this is the weirdest interview I have ever seen and this lady is worthless
