    generally good interview but Kara has an interrupting mode where she constantly overtalks and interrupts some people she interviews - this interview is a good example of that. A lot of disagreeable, constant interjections, trying to make a minor point to look smart, aggressively saying UMM HMM 1000x or "but go ahead..." - things that add no value and constant interruptions really detract from getting in depth...

    • @AllMyWakingHours
      @AllMyWakingHours 2 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      I could not agree more. I studied journalism and worked as a journalist for several years and kept thinking how much my professors would have dunked on a student for this interviewing style. It’s not even just the interrupting, but she does it in such disagreeable way, as you put it. It’s more about her and her tiny little ego boosts than the subject of the interview.

      I read this and was almost put off to the point I didn't watch the interview... However I'm really glad I did, it was fantastic, and these criticisms are a lot of hullabaloo about nothing.. watch it! Iger is great!

      @@rubic0n2008 I have no idea what you’re going in about. No one said the criticisms are bad enough to not watch the interview. She is just not a good interviewer. But thanks for chiming in with nothing.

    Iger projects so much confidence. His investments were interesting as they are very focused on tech transformation, I wish someone would have asked if he thinks tech can also tarnish experiences/media. As an example: I love the parks and have been a handful of times both as a kid and up to 6-7 years ago as an adult I recall the feeling of immersion he described well... However, I went to one of the parks a few weeks ago for the first time in several years and it seemed to me a requirement that you have the park app open constantly to be able to actually do anything. Some aspects were great like seeing photos appear on there so you could see if they came out well, etc, but it definitely felt like a job managing the itinerary w/ the rides and whatnot - somewhat dampened the immersion for me.

    • @floydphillipsco
      @floydphillipsco 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's an interesting take. Disney is definitely diving deep into digital inclusions into the park experience with Genie, Genie+ and I'm sure Genie++ is coming soon lol...

    • @jaimehumenay9608
      @jaimehumenay9608 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Excellent wording. This very much echos my/my family's experience. Add to it the constant increase in price, and once we stop getting significant military discounts, we will likely skip the parks and choose other, more immersive experiences.

    23:20 in post-scarcity - I believe - creators are self-funding their creations - after working for that money. Then they release their work for free without expecting any compensation in return - because it's their own work. However, they can position themselves in a way where it can make money (or at least be bartered), or people donate when it helps them out and they want to see it continued. No one should wait on money to get things done nor make money steer their passions. This is how I live my life - and believe it's how it should be - because building something has value even if there's no money involved!

    I agree with yoyoma - if you are happy with something - then it doesn't matter the success. People know what's great and what's not and will work with it all - and when they see better - they'll go to it. It's all about encouraging happiness - because that's the path that transfers to better. Can't do that if you start off just working hard - because it's burnout. Gotta have the passion to fuel the starting point. From happiness - you can go anywhere - that's why it's ok to start small - bigger stuff happens all the time! It's all about being ready - which hard work with misery, nonchalance, and/or emotionless - puts you in the position but doesn't give you what you need. We all work with what's best and what we think is best for us - even if it's not right - being on track gives us the tools to think - how to do better.
