Thank you for this video (and your many other videos). Along with an electrical issue (turned out to be the noise filter board), I also needed to replace my rotor. I used many of your videos to repair my washer at a fraction of the cost it would have been to call a technician and pay for the repair.

I changed my LG wm2101hw rotor assembly and bolt. I tightened it up, but it's still making that noise like it's grinding when it's spinning. is there a certain amount of pressure the bolt is suppose to be tighten up? Maybe I over tightened it?
where can you find just the center piece? the rest of my rotor is fine except for the inner piece that splines to the inner drum. Mine is stripped out due to the drum bolt coming loose over the years. The number no my part is >PBT-GF30
So my LG front load washing machine has had a few problems. First the control board stopped working. I successfully replaced it after ordering the part from repairclinic. But that issue was followed immediately by another. The machine started making a very loud metallic noise when the tub was spinning. I found out that the bolt on the center of the rotor assembly was loose. I tightened it, which worked up until the rotor began spinning counter clockwise. I even tried using thread lock to keep the bolt in place but that didn't work. Now I am wondering this. It looks as if the center of the actual rotor does not have any teeth. I am wondering if that is supposed to be the way it is or if the teeth have simply been worn down? If it is supposed to have teeth then that might keep it from not loosening during counter clockwise spins. If this is the case, can I only order the center piece of the rotor instead of the whole thing?? Thank you!
I am placing the rotor on but it's not turning to lose like in the video. I am having trouble putting it in and it not turning I am doing what I see in the video's but it's not working.
my motor is warrantied for 10 years. I I diagnosed a bad rotor but they will not send me one. the bolt came undone and the water became stripped. I was lucky enough to find a used Rotor at a parts store. how do I get LG to send me parts , they say they will only ship to authorized repairmen
Joel Mendez We cannot look up any parts for model WD12270BD. LG states that it is not in our list of repairable product. We are limited to the U.S market so if your model is for another country you will need to contact an LG dealer.
I just discovered the splines in the hub of the motor rotor were stripped. Much to my disappointment, the hub is not available to buy with out the rest of the rotor, even though it is just a small a plastic piece held in with only 3 bolts. The hub would likely cost only five or ten bucks, but you have to buy the whole works for nearly $100 with shipping. That is not a very ethical thing to do, in my opinion.
I've had my washer since 1/10 and had to replace this in 11/11 and now again this month (12/12). While it's easy to fix, at $86 for the part, it makes me yearn for my old top loader. Good thing I bought the $99 svc plan. These things are a P-O-S...
I have had to replace this part 4 times in four years. Absolutely the worst design ever! Cheap plastic gear to mesh with a metal shaft! Really!!? And you have to buy the whole rotor assembly just to replace that stupid plastic hub that probably costs $5.

They make the part with metal insert now. (Metal on Metal contact) just bought one and repaired it within 10 minutes. Very easy repair.
Where did you get the threaded metal insert? Do you have a link for it?

gordon west , hey Gordon l think l have same problem my spline are slightly rounded, it's seems to work, but under load you can feel it slip.

I want a commercial use washing machine, like they have in laundromat's. Top or side load I don't care.
