They day that hurricane Harvey hit Houston I had my Samsung s8 plus in my pocket. The water reached all the way to my chest and I even fell into a ditch . The phone still works and running normal. The phone was all wet nothing happened .. I love the Samsung s8

@@4reazon331 Why? The s8 is so much cleaner and organized, I just hate the overall stance of the iPhone X, including that little storage space at the top, it looks terrible with the phone. On the other hand, the s8 has a larger screen, and comes in larger sizes, so that's more helpful then the X, which is smaller. s8 screen, battery, and looks are all stunning to me!

while iPhone X has the same edge width on all sides and I kinda like the nodge, as it creates a great tiny place for the batterie % icon and the clock...
In my opinion the iPhone X is much better designed, than the S8 or S9
but anyways...the reason why I don´t like S8 at all, is that I hate the edges, and the weird look due to inequal width of edges at top/bottom and the sides

How can fast charging be a draw? Apple requires you to shit out another $50 for a compatible wall adapter. For a price of $1150 for the 256gb model it should have been included. The iPhone is twice the price of the Samsung s8, and it's not twice as good!!!
Curtis Jarvis not to mention greedy apple nakes their own usb that no other items use, just so you have to buy a unique wire from them. Also, the face scanner is bs. You realise that the government watches your every move? This makes it easier for them, and you must be blind if you dont. It scans everytime you go on your phone, a bit of where you are, what state you are in, and every detail of how you look.

Tony Serves Apple right, they have spent many years suing Samsung in the courts for stupid and petty patent infringement claims, I am surprised that Samsung even agreed to supply screens to Apple in the first place, albeit at a high price. This is one of Apple's big problems, they don't actually make anything themselves unlike Samsung.

Not really. All was done by Samsung, apple only 'calibrated' the system of the phone to adapt to the screen, because you cannot write a O.S. with the same codes on a LCD and the same for an OLED/AMOLED etc. Different tech, needs a different code, but they also copied the code from Samsung, just tweeked it a bit..

sakitech you also forgot to mention that the S8 has a curved screen which is thin as paper , it also has a dual pixel camera which in professional mode can make way more better pictures in night time than any other phone brand on the market and you can also put it on a docking station and use it as a fully functional computer with keyboard and mouse and even connect a whole external hard drive to it if the 256gb micro sd is not enough - SAMSUNG all the way !

Ramiro Ruiz if you like to play around with your phone and have customizations then yes. But if you're like some people who already spent a ton on Apple ecosystem then maybe it'll be difficult. Android definitely isn't as easy to get used to than ios, but once you have made it to your specifications the possibilities are endless.

Alex yes , the notch takes away a great portion of the display. Plus the s8 edges look amazing. Plus the X has bezels on the side plus a notch. The s8 has a better screen to body ratio. Plus you won't even notice the top and bottom bezels in the dark but you will notice that notch on the X. So I'll prefer top and bottom bezels and Samsung buetiful edge display rather than side bezels and a notch taking a great amount of screen use in playing games or watching a movie.
Naji Kaskas I agree, when watching movies in the dark or playing games all you see is screen. While on the X you have the notch in the way. Yes you can just pinch the screen to make the notch not noticible but then it'll look like an iPhone 8 screen when watching videos.
My eyes are always drawn to that notch on iphone x. I upgraded from iphone 6 to s8 and am very glad I did. Apple must get rid of that notch. Android for me from now on

I went for the the S8 because Its beautiful, I'm not a gamer, I love my freedom and ability to customize. I would like to also note that I hated SAMSUNG in the past. They were nice to look at and to hold but as soon as I would start to use them. They would turn into a battery draining fumbling mess that could never quite get anything right (just from my experience). I am however proud to say that the S8 seems to be an entirely different beast and is probably not only the best phone I've ever owned, but also the best piece of tech I've ever bought and has revamped my outlook completely on SAMSUNG.

Its a personal choice. I could never go back to apple just because i can't handle all the restrictions. I love the freedom with android.
Nobody is even talking about what a piece of garbage iTunes is. How bloated the UI is.. How impossible it is to use regularly. How with the S8 you have no need for such an animal as the OS is all inclusive. As for the android app quality I will admit that many are buggy and are presumably iOS apps converted to android, not rewritten but converted. The droid apps aren't so bad that I would consider going back to iOS. I assume with time the apps will only improve. The MSD slot on the S8 is now something that I could never give up. Apple should really sell their X with a jar of Vaseline as they charge so much money for memory. AR kit and augmented reality will be a game changer in the future so google better step up their game! For now AR in the X is not very important. My being a horsepower fanatic I cant help bet be envious of the X performance compared to the S8. Horsepower is the one thing that will make your equipment feel dated a year from now. The faster the performance the more future proof the device...

One key Bluetooth difference is that Samsung devices can pair with 2 devices at the same time and iPhone X only one. Example would be playing music on 2 Bluetooth speakers at the same time.

Design: *S8* (curved back, no camera bump, no notch, less bezels, also curved screens for some like me)
Hardware: *S8* (headphone jack, IP68 verified, expandable stoarge)
Display: *S8* (higher resolution, more colours, no blue shifting, almost twice as bright as the iphone, and a proper aspect ratio)
Performance: *iPhone* is a bit faster here, but both are incredebly fast and smooth. It should be a draw but im going to give it to the iPhone here.
Battery: *S8* (watch xeetechcare's vid.)
Camera: *tie*
Intangibles: *S8* (*tons* of Samsung Experience features, fingerprint scanner, IRIS scanner)

Fro example the processor - at the moment there is probably not a big difference but in sone time you'll start feeling the difference alot due to applications getting heavier..
And the camera is better on the iphone.. 240 fps 1080p slowmo is just amazing

As far as the camera goes, its actually the opposite tbh. Sure, the slow-mo is cool and all, but the galaxy phones (including your and mine S7) have the Pro mode, which is basically the manual mode. It doesnt give the phone the ability to record 1080p 240 fps videos, but the pictures, and normal vids you can take using that mode can easily compete with actual DSLR cameras. No joke

That with dslr is right besides quality.. my "cheap" dslr makes pictures that are about 25mb.. my samsung is normaly between 3 and 4mb
So you can edit them better later.. otherwise the samsung pictures you can allready use without editing

BizyGi PPI is only one one of many things that are necessary for a good display. btw iphone might have less ppi but Apple has increased the screen so good, that it is much sharper, than smeone would expect. Maybe sharper than a S8. With this fast wireless crap theres an update from Apple coming which should add that later.

I think they are both great phones, but the S8 is simply unbeatable. Benchmark scores are just numbers, they dont matter too me, maybe on a laptop. I used to have iPhones all the way, but at its pricepoint the iPhone X is a big fail.
Joost Meijer to x only does better with loading games by a few seconds and with everything else it's the same. Also it has a higher score because it's built for augmented reality which needs a lot of multitasking power

Wait wait wait you forgot the fact that the s8 has a gaming mode built in it. It tunes the phone so it can perform better while playing a game. And the S8 let's you record the game too, Yes I know the X can too but the S8 gave the idea to apple to create that feature. Also, lets not forget free apps such as showbox and spotify plus plus, yes u can get them on the X but they get uncertified after a week. The x has 2 methods to unlock the ancient passcode and the facial recognition which can be hacked by your twin.
Hm, i Don't think you realize how fast apple A11 bionic chip is. Not only did this processor pace Apple’s flagship to huge wins in synthetic benchmarks such as Geekbench 4 and 3DMark; it also ran circles around the likes of the Galaxy Note 8 and the Pixel 2 XL when doing things like editing 4K video and opening large files. Took the X 42 seconds to transcode a 2 minute 4k clip from adobe clips while the s8 and the note 8 took 3:03 and 4:07. Oh lets not even talk about the apps on the IOS wtf, its a proven fact that the iPhone is still favored by developers as the launch platform of choice for the hottest new apps. The reason why they put more effort in Apps on the IOS is because android is piracy magnet even though its a good thing for some. The unlocking method? While I do agree that I prefer the finger print and facial recognition in one device, I don't think you realize how Secure and better face Id is on the iphone X. Even better than the new samsung 9. Why do you think Banks don't offer facial recognition for samsung to use their iris scanner for their apps but let apple use theirs? No need for an explanation for that one. S8 is not a competitor for the X in terms of specs but the S8+ is. Android vs IOs is another story. All to do with preference.

on amdroid yoi can run windows os like dual boot. plus there other android version you can install mods or more light weight android os. you can overclock cpu and gpu to run better. i used to do it several yars ago, if you cmart or follow tutorial good you can inctease performance of android juat like pc owners do and wiyhout mitch extra heat and strain on chip
I go with the s8 because of: headphone jack, SD card, price and longevity of the SW updates.

i have S8 before but now i switch to Iphone X...the iphone x is much smoother than s8 the appstore is much superior compare to android. S8 sometimes it hangs and so many bloatware ..hardware and software iphone x is the winner base on my experience.

I did at first, but you get used to it fairly quick. And with facetime, there are plenty of apps that are similar. With the S8, there's a feeling of customization that I didn't get with iOS
