Wow! Thank you so much! So glad I found this tutorial! We just built our new home and our glass shower is huge…9 ft across two doors that are 8 ft tall and a center panel that is 9 ft tall. After cleaning it for the first time I went from loving to hating my shower. I tried using squeegees but I would still find streaking and water marks left behind. I also tried rain-x, which was awful. It had very noxious fume and it was a lot more work because you have to apply and buff it out 😓.
The vinegar worked great, I didn’t boil it. And the turtle wax was so easy to apply. Thanks for the links for the helpful links too!

Thanks for this great video. I recently bought a squeegee and am taking the time to do the entire shower after I'm done. It takes effort but man it is worth it! The water spots don't build up on the glass and the tile walls are almost instantly dry to the touch. Keeping a maintenance program on the shower is definitely key to avoiding the dreaded deep clean that can literally take a few hours to accomplish! I've been down that road so long and I'm completely sick of it!

As an experiment, I've been using Turtle wax ceramic coating on my bathroom sinks. (after cleaning them). Best to let it dry for 24 hours as recommended) Water beads and drains quickly. To clean the sink I use a microfiber cloth and a mild hand soap and it wipes clean and fast. (hand soap won't hurt the coating).

I just bought and moved in to my first home. New
Before we even turned a single faucet in this place we had a water softener installed.
Then I took apart the glass doors on our shower - thoroughly cleaned them.. and applied Jescar PowerLock to both sides of the glass.
We have a fiberglass shower so I applied PowerLock to the entire shower as well.
Another pro tip is if you have a bar of soap - get a plastic square soap case to keep the soap from bleeding scum all over your tiles or fiberglass shower.
I also squeegee down my shower after every use. At first I thought it was way too much work. But honestly its just an extra minute or two at the end of the shower.. and it dries up 100% so quickly after. It makes those needed weekly shower cleanings more like a monthly cleaning. And I absolutely hate those deep cleanings in the shower. Eventually the caulking will get gross, the buildup and scum becomes tough, and it ends up never being "like new" again.
The secret to cleaning is - do it daily and treat it as upkeep. Not a once in a while chore.

It does a great job and works terrific. I thought that if it can work on your car windows - why not on your house windows

Well Pan, I've been squeeging the shower after every use and the build up over time has become very minimal and cleaning it is simple and no scrubbing required. No question the squeegie works. Now I am taking it further and after cleaning the glass I treated it with RainX. I am curious to see over time how much build up there is. If the build up is the same then I would say that the RainX is a waste of time,. But if the build up is even less over time then it may be worth it to treat the glass a few times a year.I guess we'll see what happens.
I kind of think that the squeegie every day would wear the RainX off? What do you think or what has your experience been with that?
UPDATE: I used Rain-X after I cleaned the glass this last time and I will say that it is useless. I still get that minor build up over time that requires cleaning. Bottom line is that if you squeegee after every shower there is no need to use Rain-X. Not sure about the Turtle Wax product Pan used in this video but it's probably very similar?

Hey Pan, big fan! I have a question about cars. I bought a new 2021 Kia K5 GT-Line a few weeks ago with a beautiful Wolf Grey paint job and red interior, haven’t put any type of coating on my paint or tires yet but I do clean the undercarriage & use a snow foam wash often that you’ve recommended on your channel. Im from Buffalo, NY and it already started snowing here, I was wondering if it’s a really bad idea to ride out the winter and put the coatings on in the spring or because it’s so new, would I be able to give it a good thorough wash in the spring and then apply coating and it would be as if winter never happened!
    - a very conflicted fan

Heheh, yeah except I picked a spray sealant on purpose for this video, as it's more of a general public DIY type video, so I didn't want to confuse people who have zero knowledge about detailing cars. I wanted a product that is inexpensive, super simple to apply and readily accessible locally in big box stores or online.

Usually, people would take shower with warm water, I guess this is going to shorten the effective time for the protection.
I would do pretty much the same thing on fan blades to reduce the dust accumulation, the product that I am using is Meguiar's Ultimate Fast Finish. But it seems that it is not as effective as expected.
