As a 80 year old man, I loved the Jack Recher novels. I think that Alan is the right actor for the Reacher character. I lived in Niceville, Florida town after Vietnam for the Air Force in the 1967-69 time period. My son was born there at Eglin AFB. I used to run at the Highschool track like Alan did. As a Christian man, I appricate his boldness in talking about that part of His life. As a great actor and family man, He will get prayers from me, as he will most likely be under attack from the Evil one.
What is frustrating for me is that he sure sounds like a Christian by some of the comments that I heard him making in different videos, and yet he makes such horribly wicked scenes in some of his shows.

There's NO WAY he had a true born again experience and still makes nudity anf sex scenes on this show without at LEAST being somewhat convicted! He shows no true fruit of the spirit playing a role in that show that he does. Yea, I like his videos on his InstaChurch channel, he just doesn't feel the conviction of God to not be in a show that GLORIFIES violence, sex and cursing. My husband and I have read all the Reacher series books and we’ve been amazed at how close this production stays to the stories. And Alan Ritchson IS Reacher as described in the stories. Great job of casting and so delighted to see he is a man of faith.
This is a good man. Those that want to criticize I would humbly ask you to pray for him. Lift him up instead of trying to be negative. We ALL sin every day. In these days, he is a rarity in Hollywood. We don't know the battles he fights every day spiritually.

No, they are not the church but, it costs when you compromise- especially when you pick up a script that has 200 F-bombs and takes the name of Jesus in vain constantly. There is a difference between unknown circumstances and known circumstances. Reading the script? I'm sure Jesus doesn't mind. But we should never say, "Because he did A or B, he cannot be a Christian." Has he done what King David did to Uriah, to Bathsheba, to his own child? Or has he done what King Solomon did later in life? But they were saved.

Interesting how Christian actors are always the most humble and down to earth. Chris Pratt, Jim Caviezel, Jon Voight and now Alan Ritchson. Sometimes I'm so done with Hollywood and its self-serving celebrity culture, I have to remind myself that there are genuinely great guys like this among them.

Something to remember is that when we first believed we were but babes in the faith! It takes time and submission in order to grow in the faith! Don’t worry about the spec in your brothers eye, but instead worry about the LOG in your own eye first. Then you can see clearly enough to help your brother. As long as the babies (in the faith) aren’t just sitting there having temper tantrums, and holding their breath until they pass out, lol… (which definitely IS A PROBLEM) and as long as they are learning to crawl…then eventually learning to walk, and then jog, then running… as long as there is progress in their lives, the FRUIT WILL COME IN DUE TIME! Maturing is a process. Not something that we just get instantly, as a gift. Maturity comes also with setbacks along the way. This is called experience. Have patience with those who are not on your level… you were not always so fruitful either. GOD gives grace where we fall short. And he helps to lift us up, and encourages us to keep going forward! Amen! PRAISES TO OUR KING OF KINGS, and to Our HEAVENLY FATHER ABOVE! And THANKS TO HIS HOLY SPIRIT WHO LIVES WITHIN US! 🙌🙏🙌 Amen
It's a tough role to play - could easily have been very wooden but Ritchson does a great job - bringing depth and even some vulnerability at times - and owned the violence in a very controlled sort of way. Willa Fitz was also fantastic.

I was a trainer at one time and I had a guy at 34 years old, six foot tall and 196lbs that had been lifting for years. Looked faily solid but had stalled and wanted to bulk up. We changed what he did every thirty days and in 3 months he had put on 30 lbs His waist size stayed the same he just filled everything out way better and looked more solid. I had him on a split system, Upper body three days away lower body 2 and it took about a half hour 45 min each day and he was done.
Very posible with steroids. Not without-don't even try and tell me 30lbs of muscle in 3 months working out 30-45 minutes. Total BS, claims like this are why younger people get unrealistic expectations.
Read all and LOVE all Lee Child’s books. Saw him a couple of times at book signings (in his early days) - cool dude. Reacher is an incredibly well-drawn character and Alan literally makes him leap off the pages! I guess I was directed to this site because TH-cam has marked my interest in virtually “everything Reacher.” I’m 22 minutes into this interview and I’ve been cringing for what feels to be an hour. I have to bow out, now, though. Didn’t know Alan identified as a “Christian,” but good for him. Still love the guy. I’ve been reading the comments while listening to the discussion. I’m checking out now, because this “Christianism” is just a bit too much for me. This channel is geared toward a certain demographic. And I get it - that doesn’t include me. That’s fine. If you like standing in some sort of judgement of others, simply based on religion, then this is your spot. Reading comments from people who now suddenly like him better, because he’s a “Christian.” Crazy! One guy commented that Alan wasn’t as Christian as he would like because of his love scenes. My goodness. Seems like folks are trying to one up each other on how “Christian” they are. People who identify today as “Christian,” by no means enjoy a monopoly on that term. I was raised in and am still active in a Christian religion. I’m not, what so many of the folks on here seem to be, someone who needs to pound their chests and be defined by their religion. It’s really poor form. I’m just a guy who tries to do the right thing as much as I can. A guy who, each morning, starts the day trying to be just a little bit better husband, dad, sibling, friend and so on, than the day before. A guy who starts the day praying that I get put in the path of some other human who may be scared, or bullied, or need some sort of medical intervention. It’s a goal. A simple one. It’s one I don’t hit every day, but am willing to fall on my sword trying. Maybe folks would be better off if, rather than pounding their chests about how “Christian” they are, focused a little more on forging a personal, less ostentatious pursuit of the Holy. I’m sure the fellow running the podcast has the best intentions, but this doesn’t feel like a broadcast to me. Rather more of a “narrowcast“- religion and working out. Two things I also practice, but by no means feel compelled to broadcast. Maybe, don’t choose to wear that really tight shirt that shows off your resistance training progress, how ‘bout something a little looser? No need to broadcast your gains. Same with your faith, how about keeping it on the inside, cultivating that ‘personal relationship,’ which some folks can’t help bragging about, with the Divine? I’ve loved every other Alan Ritchson interview I’ve watched. I really can’t get enough of them! And this one, too. Then, it became clear this interview was only a two-trick pony - working out and who’s holier than thou. My best to all the commenters on here, in your personal journeys.
I understand your concerns but I hope you see that you are engaging in the behaviors you just admonished other commenters for doing. You commented on the interviewer's dress and felt the need to judge him as immodest and then accused them both of bragging about their faith. It's his channel and lots of channels have very specific focuses. He wants to talk about God and fitness. What's wrong with that? I love talking about Jesus and love hearing others embrace their faith boldly. Why should we keep it to ourselves? Yes we have personal, intimate relationships with Christ but we're also called to fellowship and share the Gospel. Hard to do if we never mention Christ to others.
Ummmm..... the Holy Spirit living inside of us because of Jesus IS our identity. I'm not ashamed of my faith (not Saying you are) and those who know me know where I stand. I talk about my faith when the opportunity presents itself. Maybe some of us can say we don't like the language sometimes or the love scenes sometimes, But the show is reaching an increasingly vast audience. And maybe some in that audience will come to know Jesus because of Alan's testimony.
Please, please don’t make spiritual decisions based on people. We are all sinners. Seek God above else. He’s the only perfect being. I’ve been a Christian, Christ follower, follower of Jesus - whatever you want to call it and trust me - I have let God down many times. The more that I read and meditate on scripture, the better I am able to follow Him. I wish you the very best in your spiritual journey.

Israel made compromises consistently. No, they are not the church but, it costs when you compromise- especially when you pick up a script that has 200 F-bombs and takes the name of Jesus in vain constantly. There is a difference between unknown circumstances and known circumstances. Reading the script? I'm sure Jesus doesn't mind. If he did you would at least think he would of addressed it in the bible.....right? There's nothing wrong with nudity and cursing. Who was the last church Jesus wrote to......oh yea, the church who had it all but, Jesus said they were naked.

I totally agree with you that it was a shock. I do not watch the show, but watch clips on TH-cam and was shocked to see it on TH-cam. He really let me down, so to speak. But we should never say, "Because he did A or B, he cannot be a Christian." Has he done what King David did to Uriah, to Bathsheba, to his own child? Or has he done what King Solomon did later in life? But they were saved.

Interesting how Christian actors are always the most humble and down to earth. Chris Pratt, Jim Caviezel, Jon Voight and now Alan Ritchson. Sometimes I'm so done with Hollywood and its self-serving celebrity culture, I have to remind myself that there are genuinely great guys like this among them.

This man is different
Something to remember is that when we first believed we were but babes in the faith! It takes time and submission in order to grow in the faith! Don’t worry about the spec in your brothers eye, but instead worry about the LOG in your own eye first. Then you can see clearly enough to help your brother.
As long as the babies (in the faith) aren’t just sitting there having temper tantrums, and holding their breath until they pass out, lol… (which definitely IS A PROBLEM) and as long as they are learning to crawl…then eventually learning to walk, and then jog, then running… as long as there is progress in their lives, the FRUIT WILL COME IN DUE TIME!
Maturing is a process. Not something that we just get instantly, as a gift.
Maturity comes also with setbacks along the way. This is called experience.
Have patience with those who are not on your level… you were not always so fruitful either.
GOD gives grace where we fall short. And he helps to lift us up, and encourages us to keep going forward!

It's a tough role to play - could easily have been very wooden but Ritchson does a great job - bringing depth and even some vulnerability at times - and owned the violence in a very controlled sort of way. Willa Fitz was also fantastic.

He said God enjoys the show@ what??? A show full of swearing, cursing, sexual immorality and so much other filth? God is PLEASED with that? Get outta here! He seeks genuine in reading the Bible and making videos about it, but he has no true salvation transformation (as far as the interviews and videos I've seen of him). FIRST TIME TO EVER SEE THIS....PLAN TO SEE MANY MORE. ALAN IS A GREAT SOUNDING HUMAN....I RECENTLY BOUGHT A NEW BIBLE AND WILL READ MORE. THAT IS WHAT I WANT AND NEED IS A SPIRITUAL CONNECTION. I WAS RAISED AND AM CATHOLIC AND HAVE BEEN TO OTHER MASSES.......I WANT A CONNECTION.
I was a trainer at one time and I had a guy at 34 years old, six foot tall and 196lbs that had been lifting for years. Looked faily solid but had stalled and wanted to bulk up. We changed what he did every thirty days and in 3 months he had put on 30 lbs His waist size stayed the same he just filled everything out way better and looked more solid. I had him on a split system, Upper body three days away lower body 2 and it took about a half hour 45 min each day and he was done.
Very posible with steroids. Not without-don't even try and tell me 30lbs of muscle in 3 months working out 30-45 minutes. Total BS, claims like this are why younger people get unrealistic expectations.
Only $390. Per day?? That's amazing

Read all and LOVE all Lee Child’s books. Saw him a couple of times at book signings (in his early days) - cool dude. Reacher is an incredibly well-drawn character and Alan literally makes him leap off the pages! I guess I was directed to this site because TH-cam has marked my interest in virtually “everything Reacher.” I’m 22 minutes into this interview and I’ve been cringing for what feels to be an hour. I have to bow out, now, though. Didn’t know Alan identified as a “Christian,” but good for him. Still love the guy. I’ve been reading the comments while listening to the discussion. I’m checking out now, because this “Christianism” is just a bit too much for me. This channel is geared toward a certain demographic. And I get it - that doesn’t include me. That’s fine. If you like standing in some sort of judgement of others, simply based on religion, then this is your spot. Reading comments from people who now suddenly like him better, because he’s a “Christian.” Crazy! One guy commented that Alan wasn’t as Christian as he would like because of his love scenes. My goodness. Seems like folks are trying to one up each other on how “Christian” they are. People who identify today as “Christian,” by no means enjoy a monopoly on that term. I was raised in and am still active in a Christian religion. I’m not, what so many of the folks on here seem to be, someone who needs to pound their chests and be defined by their religion. It’s really poor form. I’m just a guy who tries to do the right thing as much as I can. A guy who, each morning, starts the day trying to be just a little bit better husband, dad, sibling, friend and so on, than the day before. A guy who starts the day praying that I get put in the path of some other human who may be scared, or bullied, or need some sort of medical intervention. It’s a goal. A simple one. It’s one I don’t hit every day, but am willing to fall on my sword trying. Maybe folks would be better off if, rather than pounding their chests about how “Christian” they are, focused a little more on forging a personal, less ostentatious pursuit of the Holy.
I’m sure the fellow running the podcast has the best intentions, but this doesn’t feel like a broadcast to me. Rather more of a “narrowcast“- religion and working out. Two things I also practice, but by no means feel compelled to broadcast. Maybe, don’t choose to wear that really tight shirt that shows off your resistance training progress, how ‘bout something a little looser? No need to broadcast your gains. Same with your faith, how about keeping it on the inside, cultivating that ‘personal relationship,’ which some folks can’t help bragging about, with the Divine?
I’ve loved every other Alan Ritchson interview I’ve watched. I really can’t get enough of them! And this one, too. Then, it became clear this interview was only a two-trick pony - working out and who’s holier than thou.

I understand your concerns but I hope you see that you are engaging in the behaviors you just admonished other commenters for doing. You commented on the interviewer's dress and felt the need to judge him as immodest and then accused them both of bragging about their faith. It's his channel and lots of channels have very specific focuses. He wants to talk about God and fitness. What's wrong with that? I love talking about Jesus and love hearing others embrace their faith boldly. Why should we keep it to ourselves? Yes we have personal, intimate relationships with Christ but we're also called to fellowship and share the Gospel. Hard to do if we never mention Christ to others.
Ummmm..... the Holy Spirit living inside of us because of Jesus IS our identity. I'm not ashamed of my faith (not Saying you are) and those who know me know where I stand. I talk about my faith when the opportunity presents itself.
Maybe some of us can say we don't like the language sometimes or the love scenes sometimes, But the show is reaching an increasingly vast audience. And maybe some in that audience will come to know Jesus because of Alan's testimony.
Please, please don’t make spiritual decisions based on people. We are all sinners. Seek God above else. He’s the only perfect being. I’ve been a Christian, Christ follower, follower of Jesus - whatever you want to call it and trust me - I have let God down many times. The more that I read and meditate on scripture, the better I am able to follow Him. I wish you the very best in your spiritual journey.
