Another way to get to Koh Lipe is that you can travel from Hat Yai Airport which can fly from Suvarnabhumi Airport. At Hat Yai Airport, There will be a van traveling to Pak Bara Pier to continue the journey to Koh Lipe. And in the airport where you can buy a tour package including the car Speed boat fee and the cost of accommodation on Koh Lipe at an affordable price. (Or package on internet) I just visited in July. It's my favorite island and I will go back again in February. I'm glad to see you guys hanging out and doing clips here. I would like to invite everyone to experience the beauty of this island a lot. And I am glad to see you both back to Thailand..Thanks so much from one Thai people

Been there twice - once as a day trip from Langkawi in Malaysia in Jan 2017 and again as a 3-day visit from Krabi and Koh Phi Phi. It is definitely the Maldives of Thailand
Koh Lipe and Langkawi are so similar and spectacular , love the beach and national park there if still open

Went there in 2012, the island was a paradise, but back then was already crowded with mass tourism.
Must say i was there during Christmas.
Anyway, we had a lo of fun there and the beaches were on the Top-3 in our 2-months trip to Thailand.
Oh wow Christmas here would be amazing we are going to spend Christmas in koh samui!

Thai here. Agreed with everything you said. My fav beaches of all; Phuket, Krabi, Surin, etc are all good but I still like Lipe the most. Not many tourist bc it takes more than half day to get there. It’s definitely worth it.

I was there in October 2023 and it was very quiet and had good weather - also did a 4K Walking Tour there showing all the best places of the island!

I love your video and Lipe is my dream destination. 200 Baht for a dish is quite expensive especially for Thais. I believe there must be some local market somewhere for you to choose from.

WOW, no way that's awesome! We are planning on visiting Langkawi very soon, it looks so beautiful Emilia went a few years back and she really wants to take me!
@@Joelfriend you'll love it! Langkawi is really great but it's very different than koh lipe. You can't really snorkel here, no coral at all, but you can see some waterfalls and jungle stuff. I think that's the main attraction for backpackers (and the rice fields look like Bali) When you come you should visit the very top of seven wells waterfall and swim. You can go right to the edge in this rock bowl and it's such a beautiful view! I think the most beautiful place to stay is anywhere near Tanjung ruh beach, that's where my house is, but it's difficult to go to the main downtown area (cenang beach) unless you have a scooter. You can also just camp on the beach. It's pretty normal here

You should also visit the mangrove boat tour, skull beach (there is an abandoned museum in the jungle!), And the skytrex tour
@@Joelfriend just got back from lipe and it was great! It's very quiet compared to when I visited last time. Best restaurant I found was nee Papaya restaurant 🙏 it's full every night!!
@@calvinatdrifterstudio8438 When I was in Langkawi back in Jan 2017 staying in Pantai Cenang, I actually did a day trip to Koh Lipe from Telaga Harbour using the Bundhaya speedboat but I'm not sure if that is operational these days.. A year later, I did stay in Koh Lipe for 3 nights after staying in Ao Nang for 5 nights, Koh Phi Phi Don for 3 nights, then Koh Lanta for one night before a long and bumpy speedboat ride to Koh Lipe
I was there in the late 80's No hotels or block houses. Only a few 'sea gypsies ' (Chao Lay) living on the beach in small wooden huts. Stayed on a friends yacht. Some 'skandies' came over asking us if we had any booze to sell, they wanted Vodka we had some but at our price ! As you say a long way to go to get replenishments!

Yes - Koh Kradan is absolutely a gem - visit it in april this year along with Koh Nghai and Koh Mook. Koh Nghai ( Koh hai ) is also a paradiset Island.

@@Joelfriend it's better to fly into Langkawi international and take the boat for 30$. It's just an hour but not many people know that koh lipe can stamp your passport on the beach

No we haven't but it's on the list, if it's reopened we may try go around Christmas time or January!
How many nights do you recommend on Koh lipe? I’m thinking 3 nights, I’m looking at the 26 December travel from Krabi

Not many people know about this. I've planned to go here and now I've seen your videos I'm convinced. I've seen online comments about litter on beaches etc but from your videos it's not true
I'd say there are a few parts with a bit of litter, but the locals and restaurants most likely clean the beaches every day as that's what tourists like

The black sand is caused by the boats and the fuel that leaks in the sea unfortunately 🤨 No volcanoes nor volcanic sand in this part of Asia..😅

@@Joelfriend no buddy is everywhere in Thailand it just depends by the currents and winds, that’s why some beach are affected others not. Think that even the color of some white beaches became more brownish due to this after years and years.. It’s terrible!
Nope: pollution in south-eastern Asia is a serious issue, but the grayish sand is due to tourmaline fragments.
Because it is rather far and expensive.
Koh Lipe is certainly a nice island, but is it the prettiest? In my opinion it's not that obvious.I think you can find much nicer islands in Thailand. Koh Similan with the beautiful Ao Kueak Beach and Sail Rock. In my opinion, Koh Surin is also a nicer island

Not sure...I went there in 2015 , waiting a long time to get to a crowded speed boat and get bored after 2 days.Please do not push it too much to get clicks on this video. The beach is small and full of long tail boats. But hey..cool video no reflecting the reality. You may mentioned the plastics bottle and garbage along the beach

Ko Lipe, no thank you! Coming from other places to Ko Lipe was just disappointing high prices, low quality, unfriendly, indifferent and arrogant service stuff… That is Ko Lupe. The so called walking street is a driving street as well for crazy scooter and taxi drivers looking for their kick driving as fast and close as possible between the mass of people, who are scrolling up and down this street. This island has cristal clear water, and because of the beautiful beaches it could have been a real paradise, but rubbish (not on the beaches) everywhere in the middle of the island makes it suffer. Bye bye, and never again!
