Genius. I always wondered how to make a washable chair cushion without adding a zipper. I would have never thought of the envelope method! Thank you so much for this tutorial. The cushion with piping is so pretty! You are great, Sherrill!
I agree GENIUS to make the envelope opening. I’m inspired. I have new pillow shams (ready made) where the opening is close to one of the short ends, and inserting the pillow is easier than the traditional method of the middle. I think that method would work on these seat cushions.
You have inspired me to make much needed seat cushions for wooden stools. They will surely be more comfortable. I appreciate your descriptive instruction. Thank you!
I just told a young woman who is learning to sew about your channel. I showed her how to make fabric tissue holder and a fabric coaster. Hopefully she will tune in and subscribe. You are a great teacher. Easy to follow and understand. 🧵💙👩🌾
After another busy but fun filled day, I get to sit, hand sew on a quilt border and watch this video. Thank you so much for sharing this and I hope you have a fabulous week ahead!
I've been wanting seat cushions for my everyday dining table chairs. The cushions I had picked out on Amazon are pretty expensive. I had saved it on my Amazon list for later... But when I went to purchase them they were no longer available. So I'm going to make them. This is the perfect video... Thank you. 😊
Sherrill, thank you for your reply. Watching you with your hand really inspires me and so many others. Your calm and relaxing teaching skills make us feel the same way. Thanks for all you do for us.
Excellent video. I followed step-by step and it came out so cute, only issue is that the back pockets are too big. Your instructions say to cut -(1) 17" square -(2) 11" x 17 1/2" , but they both should be the same right? 17"? I did the piping with my zipper foot for the first time, and love the look! Thanks, I am now a subscriber!
Sherrill, your channel is such a comfort to me. I am a transplant patient and with no immune system, I am confined to home. My meds make my hands shake and I don't get to sew much. I do enjoy doing simple projects and watching your channel. Thank you for all you do/share with us. Can this pattern be converted for a thicker pillow?
Hi Judith. Thank you for sharing your story. I understand how having difficulty with your hands can slow down the sewing. I lost the use of my right hand 10 years ago. I did a lot of physical therapy, and was able to regain some use of my right thumb. I can't do a lot of the things I use to do, but I am grateful for the things I can still do. You could probably make this slip cover with a 2" thick cushion. I wish you well. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 💖
Hi!🙋🏻♀️ I really like your tutorials as you explain step by step calmly and clearly. If You could make a tutorial on how to sew a cover for the washing machine. Thanks. God bless you! 😃
Many thanks 👏👏👏👍👍👍The idea of using of a rotary cutter to cut the foam could not have come at a better time. I am going to recover my dining room chairs including replacing the seat padding. The foam is about 1.5 inches so will now use my large rotary cutter to cut it to shape. 😊😊😊
40+ years ago I helped my aunt sew cushions for out door furniture; she used red terry cloth with mustard piping with zippers no less. Now I need one for my sewing chair. Any ideas on sewing a lumbar support cushion?
Just what I needed, a cushion for a child’s chair. I will make it with piping and bows on all legs. Thank you!!!!!!!
