    Love this!
    Let every man work out his own salvation with fear and trembling .
    Too many people dont know how to "work out their own salvation " because a pastor or organization has done it for them.

    Yes if there were more people “studying” the Bible, there would be far less confusion!!

    . There never was any answer about what the crossover between these denominations is. It seem like this ended up just being another chance to bash churches and beliefs that they do not like. Not trying to be mean, but the title was. What do Holiness, Oneness, and fundamental Baptist have in common?

    I'm Oneness through and through but I can totally understand your feelings on the whole Holiness issue. Regardless of doctrine, the legalism of the holiness standards is probably the same in all of those churches.

    Your teachings have really blessed me. I’m a Trinitarian but I’ve come in contact with a Oneness believer. They are really confusing me. May I ask you if you are a Trinitarian. Help.

    What particular Holderness group did y’all come from? I had my initial beginnings in the free holiness church. These churches are located mainly in the south and are basically like UPC in some ways except they are Trinitarian. Like Pentecostals who do not claim to be Pentecostals because Pentecostals are too worldly. LOL Great people who love God but a lot of rules and regulations and such.

      We grew up in the Independent Holiness Pentecostal fellowship (it was Trinitarian). Our brother-in-law, Josh, was raised in the UPC though, so we know a bit about that group as well. We also have some acquaintances who grew up Free Holiness. Interestingly enough, they were taught that if you ever backslid you could never come back.

      @@BereanHoliness that is how I initially grew up as well. It wasn’t even a matter of apostasy, but if you committed a single sin. Pretty amazing because then they have to re-interpret sins committed as merely mistakes.

    • @BereanHoliness
      @BereanHoliness  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That’s a bizarre teaching that has so many dire consequences. I’ve heard of people in Free Holiness who committed suicide due to the hopelessness of never being able to come back to Christ. And you’re exactly right, the definition of sin is often watered down so that no one has to admit their sin. It causes so much hypocrisy and confusion. I’m so glad you found your way out!

      @@BereanHoliness amen and amen… I think many of them are simply wrong in their heads but right in their hearts. It is possible simply to be confused. I have been able to discuss many of these things with my Holderness family and to my surprise a lot of them are receptive. Certainly holding this is a biblical message, but like everything else, it needs to be preached and talk biblically and not nearly by the traditions of men. Otherwise, we will be trying to please God by the work of the flesh end it will not work. These things come by grace through faith as we yield to the word of God by his spirit, Galatians 3:5. Another problem is that many of them do not understand the difference practically between justification and sanctification. That is to say, they many times do not seem to get that after we are born again, there is a growth in grace and we must allow for that.

    Can you show me any scriptures in the New Testament that speak specifically on a women wearing a dress?

      Nope. None. I don’t believe the dress was invented yet.

      Anyone who is old enough can comprehend what modesty is. Now everyone has his or her own personality as well as level of comprehension and intelligence. Being that so there are some women who believe a miniskirt is modest. Then there are many women who believe tight fitting jeans are modest and will actually wear tight fitting jeans to Church on Sundays. They will wear them and not stand out amongst the other members. There aren't any standards of dress or any discipline within the church. Discipline and standards are viewed or are used as an excuse, which is mostly likely, to accuse discipline and standards as being of the law within these churches. Of being legalistic. They are in a sense attacked right away.
      And yet the divorce rate amongst many of these churches is fairly high. I personally witnessed a member of a church telling his Pastor that Jesus did not say what the letters written by the apostles claim he did about marriage, adultery and remarrying. It was his belief that that part was added later by an unknown person. The Pastor of the church agreed. How much intelligence does it take to realize just how ignorant that is?
      How ignorant does someone have to be to convince themselves of that?
      There's no discipline or standards within the church. Just a lot of people satisfying their need to socialize with other people.

      In Leviticus a woman is prohibited from wearing men's clothing. Because pants are men's clothing, women should wear dresses and skirts.

    These people are backslidden reprobates that are neither Bereans nor Biblical Holiness.
    Act 17:11 KJV These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
    They do not have a sincere desire for truth, but rather to undermine scriptural truth..
    2Pe 2:2 KJV And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
    2Pe 2:9-10 KJV 9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: 10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
    These scriptures speak directly to this kind of people.
    2Pe 2:15-22 KJV 15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
    16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
    17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
    18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
    19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
    20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
    21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
    22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
    This is what these people represent.
    Compromise with the world.
