A few thoughts came to mind while you were talking. - I have heard someone state that they had done a study on nakedness in scripture, and it is always associated with shame, never noted as a sin. Since then, any time I read scripture and that topic is addressed- I always pay attention. So far the shame association has been correct. Second thought - There came a point where I had to personally make a choice. Either grow into a healthy relationship with Christ, or cling to old relationships that interfere with that healthy relationship. I choose Christ first. Some human relationships I have had to let go, others have had to be dropped to their appropriate place. As a result my relationship with Christ has become much sweeter. God bless you all! They preached holiness, but, they preached it and left it between you and God: NEVER did they call people names and demand them to practice the same convictions they had. The Bible does say to work out your OWN soul’s salvation. I’m noticing in these younger preachers that they are trying to do God’s job. The church I just left was as close to a cult as you can get. Probably 1 Sunday school class in 9 months never preaching just shout shout shout. Now believe me I have absolutely no problem with a shouting service but our children need that time to learn about Jesus, that’s when they soak up everything. Then they run around the church with no supervision. I’ve seen the pastor snap his fingers telling certain ones to pray for certain people and you can forget about kneeling beside the opposite sex, they have all that mapped out for you. Look at what Hillsing did several years ago with a Christmas program. It was terrible!
His statement... "They want you to question" as if that is unbiblical. We are called to "try the spirits" and we are called to "study to show ourselves approved". I think where Natalie continues to fall short time and time again is this idea that our idea of holiness is fundamentally marked by our strict standards. So let me clear it up. Holiness is not, nor has it ever been about a ring or a beard. Holiness is not an additive that can be tacked on to Christianity in order to give us a better version of ourselves. True Christianity IS holiness (Heb. 12:14). When a soul is truly reconciled back to God, His nature will reside within that soul. This new nature will give the redeemed individual a supernatural desire to live holy and set apart. We are not Christians because we live holy. We live holy because we are Christians. It is a natural bi-product And once you understand this concept, you will understand why we have a desire to not only be as much like Jesus as possible, but to be as little like the world as possible. I appreciate Bro. Dwain Galiher and the truth that he preached at PFYC.
By your description, it sounds like we have a lot of agreement on what biblical holiness is. The question is then, why would Rev. Galiher refer to Berean Holiness and similar sites as tearing down everything holiness is-when we only “tear down” ideas like “beards are a sin,” “jewelry is a sin,” etc.? By that accusation, it seems that those teachings we refute are synonymous with Rev. Galiher’s definition of holiness.
@@BereanHoliness As someone who listens to Bro. I am confused by your argument of standards/holiness. Biblically our holiness comes from God. But if He’s dwelling in our hearts there is going to be a desire to be like Him. Based off the points I believe you were making, why have any outward standard? To say the outward doesn’t matter at all isn’t Biblically sound. To say because scripture doesn’t specifically mention something it’s wrong to preach on it leaves no room for the change of culture or customs. It does not negate the need for the church to take a stance. What is the line you draw between what Godliness looks like and what is worldly? I realize many people come from many backgrounds and experiences. But everyone draws the line somewhere. Preachers, pastors, teachers address things were facing today. Also, side note the makeup and pants probably seem like modern things the church took stances on because culturally those began to be accepted in our more recent history. I have never been to PFYC, never met Bro.Galliher or any of the other preachers for that matter. But I found all the messages refreshing. It seems many ask today “is it a sin to do ____?” When a heart towards God is going to ask “God is _____ pleasing to you?”
@@cwhatfield3669They said Galiher was confusing because of the premise of his point. He was not making the same point as the Scripture he was referencing. It was. There was a weird supposition added into by him, and it was not logical. She nailed it. He was promoting confirmation bias. That’s what they do.
Same story different face. It’s sad really what people become when they rebel from true holiness. Holiness is not at all just outward but if you are right on the inside it will work it’s way out. One of the problems with the modern day “church” is that it is becoming more and more like the world. The Bible still does teach a separated life. Our approach to being a Christian should be how can I be more like Christ not how can I live and look like the world and still be ok. If you are convinced you are right why not just be satisfied with that instead of trying to convince others certain aspects of holy living are not necessary.
"Be not conformed to this world..." is talking about the mind, which is why it immediately says, "...but be ye TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your MIND." Why "Holiness" and conservative Mennonites don't get this, I don't know. Transform the mind, and everything else follows, which includes a LOT more than personal appearance. Lord have mercy, there are so many things more important to be harping on, like how most third-world churches can't even afford to have hymnals, while the Bible thumpers (I love the Bible, btw) will own ten or twenty deluxe Bibles with exquisite leather bindings. It's perverse.
Him using emotionally-charged and emotion-invoking derogatory words brought this scripture to mind: Ephesians 4:29 - Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. I bring this up because this is something I have become/am becoming increasingly more conscious about
If you listen to the entire sermon, which I encourage you to, one of the texts he read was 1 Corinthians 10:1 “I would not that ye should be ignorant”… when he asks “you aren’t ignorant, are you?” he was in no way implying that people are ignorant if they do not believe the way he does, but rather that the only way to avoid spiritual ignorance is to study the Bible for yourself. But of course there is no way to know that if all you hear is the short clip that Natalie played. He was in no way being derogatory.
By the way, holiness is a condition of the heart, ultimately (IMO). If someone has a heart that truly loves God and neighbor, the rest will take care of itself. Jesus could see a naked woman (I speak as a man [see what I did there? Cool Apostle Paul reference]) and not sin, because he didn't have adultery in his heart. Coveting happens in the heart. So...either we are truly seeking to follow God, or we're not. I can follow all the rules you can come up with, and bust hell wide open.
I do not know enough about what either of you believe, but on the outside it seems the Preacher is off in a ditch and seeks company. But I do not agree that “Scholars” should interpret the Bible! Paul himself did not lean on but instead counted this sort of thing as “dung”. Nothing wrong with intense studying and training in God’s word but without the Holy Spirit teaching you through surrenderance and obedience it is all “dung”. I do not believe in a “clothing” or outward holiness to make us holy, yet, you cannot reject what the Bible does teach what His holiness in us will do in and through us. Of course holiness, His in us and us obeying Him, if any suggest His holiness does not affect all of our actions including dress…if it is needed…they are not teaching the word. My biggest problem with what many call “scholars” is the scholars take or closed mouth about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with speaking in Tonges. These things are not learn by the trained mind or disciplined flesh, but revelation in a persons heart from the Holy Sprit who is God. So I really could care less what history says or some Scholar says if they are not agreeing and preaching the full Gospel. If you are going to call them scholarly then you are to EXPECT them to know the full Gospel, or simply put the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. But having said that I am not say those who have that revelation and experience know the truth of the Gospel as they should. In summary, holiness is not defined in the flesh but in the heart, but what is in the heart is only rooted there if it affects the rest of the body. Now about a person being a wizard in math, science, ancient languages are whatever can still be an “idiot” in the spiritual things of the word of God. Paul said about those who were saved and did not fall behind in any gifts from God, spiritual gifts, were still ignorant about other things. Paul said “let them be ignorant”. It is a heart problem. Nothing closes truth off to our hearts than our “pride” of the flesh.
Men and women both wear T-shirts. If you see a husband and wife both wearing T-shirts... according to what you seem to believe, is the husband sinning, or is it the wife?
Bro Galiher is one of the Godliest men I know, instead of starting a gossip page …..why dont you ASK HIM…this is gossip..you should know where you stand with the fact you like to gossip. where your Berean expertise is, is gossip.

This is called adding to the gospel. Do you worry about the size of your roof? Because that is also in that same chapter of the Bible. Get into The Word and think for yourself. @@wendywilliamson699 Not so sure it was a true conviction or a taken out of context scripture teaching. Either way, if an individual feels conviction from the Lord about wearing or not wearing certain clothing such as pajamas, only 3/4 length sleeves, etc. then they should follow it. However, that is a PERSONAL CONVICTION and SHOULD NOT be preached or taught as a heaven or he'll issue or that you are holier if you do follow those convictions.

Bottom line - you are a woman. Oh God forbid you speak because you are to keep quiet. How dare you question and not just submit to their demands and not just conform to their ways.
20:55 can't believe she said Dwain Galiher is confusing!!!!!! Wow!!! Both of you sounded like Kamala Harris and her word salad
@@cwhatfield3669They said Galiher was confusing because of the premise of his point. He was not making the same point as the Scripture he was referencing. It was. There was a weird supposition added into by him, and it was not logical. She nailed it. He was promoting confirmation bias. That’s what they do.
What does P.F.Y.C. stand for?
Pentecostal Fire Youth Conference
Same story different face. It’s sad really what people become when they rebel from true holiness. Holiness is not at all just outward but if you are right on the inside it will work it’s way out. One of the problems with the modern day “church” is that it is becoming more and more like the world. The Bible still does teach a separated life. Our approach to being a Christian should be how can I be more like Christ not how can I live and look like the world and still be ok. If you are convinced you are right why not just be satisfied with that instead of trying to convince others certain aspects of holy living are not necessary.
I wear a Louis Voiton Burka Bag on my head every day. So far, no complaints.
How foolish to say that Holiness standards are only 50 yrs old. Its in the bible so its alot older than that
Go Dwain!
Him using emotionally-charged and emotion-invoking derogatory words brought this scripture to mind:
Ephesians 4:29 - Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
I bring this up because this is something I have become/am becoming increasingly more conscious about
I have always been disgusted by the mocking, I noticed that as a child and always thought “that’s not very Jesus like”.
I agree with everything he said.
amen
Duet. 22:5 says its an abomination for woman to wear what pertains to a man!!! A child can understand that....
A wise man would preach the Word instead of spending his time slandering someone who disagrees with his movement. It’s very apparent that he has taken this personally but religion will always rear it’s ugly head when wrongs are confronted. What Natalie is doing takes SO much courage..and wow, what a difference in attitudes. He’s so bitter that it’s heartbreaking and he will be on my heart for a while bc I’ve been there several years ago
@@k93day ROFL!!!!!! I can guarantee you a gossip page is the least of his worries….
@@thewanderer1139 Read the definition of gossip. What Natalie is doing is not gossip because you can hear the whole sermon (which she encourages everyone to do) for yourself. It's not a he said she said, "I heard from someone " situation. You come off with a rather angry tone, which does not help your defense of thos minister or movement.
@@ladyhawk9032 the definition of gossip is conversations or REPORTS involving details that are not proven to be true. Google it . She does not even KNOW if what he said was aimed at her or not , she is assuming. She has put him out there to diss him with him not present . That is malicious gossip…. Trying to destroy someone. Which is the work of the devil. True salvation does not live a life to hound dog a movement you left because you have backslid.
@@thewanderer1139 How exactly is she backslid? You may be surprised where you are headed with judgemental comments like that one. You can have sleeves to your wrist, skirts to your ankles, no makeup, jewelry, etc and still have such issues that are not Christ like and may send you the opposite direction of where you are trying to go. Be careful.
I was raised and still am in a UPC church and dress modestly as I was raised. However, I DO NOT believe these are heaven and hell issues because they can't be proven in scripture. Do I think people should dress skanky? NO!
But, I've seen pants be less revealing than some "skirts". Also, the attitudes that have been displayed (kinda like yours) is what has gotten us named by many "whited seplechures" due to Pharasee like attitudes.
It was hurting me and bothering me so much I was getting rid of my pajama pants because I didn't want to go to hell for wearing pants.
I stopped wearing Pajamas because they ARE pants…why do we need to wear them?
This is called adding to the gospel. Do you worry about the size of your roof? Because that is also in that same chapter of the Bible. Get into The Word and think for yourself. What did God make Adam and Eve? He made them both tunics. There is absolutely nothing in the Bible about pants. Clothing could never make you Holy. Love your neighbor as yourself, that’s Holiness.. not that we could ever comprehend the full Holiness of God.
@@k93day Actually , God made them naked…you want to run around naked? They were made COATS of animal skin..there again you ppl reading out of them watered down versions…go back to the altar and get REALLY saved and you will get rid of them watered down versions. The Bible says to dress in SHAMEFACEDNESS and Sobriety….now we could cover a WHOLE lot of SHAME…and a whole other story on the era women even started wearing pants….but you stay with that watered down version and there’s no telling what you might come up with….sad sad sad
You should have listened to your conscious! That was God in His mercy letting you feel conviction.
Always blows my mind how they think everything is about them!! Majority of Christian’s in the world aren’t in “holiness” movements and aren’t even considered Christian’s by these movements! Such small minds cannot comprehend big thoughts. I can definitely think of several people he is speaking against. They prove themselves to be truly ignorant by speaking out in such a way; they would learn so much from reading The Case for Christ!
The majority of Christians are not going to Heaven more than likely. “Broad is the way that leadeth unto destruction…”
Bottom line - you are a woman. Oh God forbid you speak because you are to keep quiet. How dare you question and not just submit to their demands and not just conform to their ways. They ( many preachers ) want to control control control. They want that “power” not the power of God. 2 Timothy 3 vs 5 Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. But when someone does turn away those who turn away are labeled a backslider, trouble maker etc. These preachers are now worshiping their traditions and not God. These preachers like to non-directly throw off on others so they can say I never said it was you. Mark 7:13 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. And he said unto them, full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
PLEASE KEEP UP YOUR GOOD WORK!!!! YOU ARE A BLESSING TO ALL WHO ARE SEEKING THE TRUTH ABOUT JESUS. YOU ARE A THREAT TO THE DEVIL AND SO OF COURSE THE DEVIL IS GOING TO SEND PEOPLE TO BASH YOU AND WHAT YOU DO!!!
GOD BLESS YOU AND PLEASE KEEP HELPING OTHERS AS YOU SURE HAVE HELPED ME BECAUSE ALL THAT I HAVE QUESTIONED FOR MANY YEARS GOD USED YOU TO BACK UP WHAT HE HAS SHOWN ME!!!
