Thank you Megan, that was an excellent point in the last few seconds where you said that your old church struggled with worldliness because the world teaches that God's favor is based on performance!
I'm glad to hear your story, Meghan! As a fifth generation branhamite who left the cult to follow Christ I can definitely relate to some parts of your story. After leaving branhamism, I've been attracted to Oneness Pentecostalism for quite some time. It took me a couple of years to understand how much branhamism and UPC are similar in many ways. I'm glad Lord opened my eyes to see it. I also remember watching Breaking the Silence documentary and how much my story was similar to theirs. God bless Berean Holiness and your work! Greetings from Czechia.
Sadly my family was Pentecostal and my upbringing thankfully I read the Bible and found out believing in Christ saves me and not a babel or a sinless lifestyle though of course we are called to do good works its the least we can do since our savior saved us from hell.
I have distant relatives who are trapped in the United Pentecostal Church. What is now the United Pentecostal Church, split from my denomination, the General Council of the Assemblies of God, in 1916. In 1916, the first Statement of Fundamental Truths came out, which affirmed the doctrine of the Trinity which is what caused the split between the Trinitarian Pentecostals and the Oneness Pentecostals. I live in an area with many United Pentecostal churches. The legalism that is within most United Pentecostal churches would have a minister kicked out of the Assemblies of God. My grandfather's (dad's father) sister married into a UPC family. My grandfather was an ordained AG minister. Both sides of Pentecostalism have a history of legalism. Whereas the mainstream Trinitarian Pentecostal denominations have let go of the legalism, most Oneness Pentecostal churches continue to teach legalism (I have heard of UPC churches letting go of some of the legalism).
wearing dresses ISNT a upc teaching , its a biblical teaching. Too bad you don’t study your word . Your have no roots in the word . You’ll probably leave the church your at now because you’ll get some other hairbrained idea and then go look for a church that fits your lifestyle

❤️❤️
Legalistic. No assurance of salvation. I left in 2000.
Emotional environment? Uhh we can have emotions when we worship. What’s wrong with that?
This woman is so deceived. God bless her.
God bless the writers of fear-mongering comments.
