- Electric vehicles have been making waves in recent times. And most of them have come with different designs, features, and ranges that have made them quite successful. But the Citroen AMI, even though a unique electric vehicle, has enjoyed tremendous success.
The French manufacturer Citroen AMI has been described as a quadricycle to reflect how tiny it is. It was launched in April 2020, barely two years ago, and at the time, the tiny electric vehicle was mocked for its design and its lack of equipment and finish.
But despite the mocking, the Citroen AMI found its footing and became a huge success. This brand new electric mini-city car took everyone by surprise thanks to its unique design and features. It was targeted at urban dwellers who do not require a license to drive it. And so in France, drivers as young as 14 years old can drive this quadricycle.
Ever since it was launched in 2020, this license-free electric vehicle has received more than 23,000 orders and it is already marketed in 9 countries in Europe. Thanks to its compact and practical size, the Citroen AMI has found great usefulness between professional and individual customers.

But not the quoted 6090 euros in the UK where the starting price is £7695, over 9000 euros. But what's new, the car manufactureres have been screwing the British car buyer for as long as I can remember.

Yes - the original Ami 6, Ami 8 and Ami Super - means 'FRIEND' - dating to the 1960s - was rather odd looking, and greatly loved in France.
It was a grown up 2CV - very practical. This Ami is a grown down 2CV which in 1948 had 9 bhp, a max of 60 kph and 4 litres / 100 kms consumption.

It's a pity the city doesn't provide cheaper parking tariffs for small green mobility solutions. That would be a great way to stimulate them.
So pleased this has been a success. French automobile creativity is not always rewarded financially sadly.

Yes the Ami (and not A.M.I.) is the perfect city car: it's not a beauty, but it looks sympathetic like a 2cv, tiny but very roomy, agile, light , simple and unexpansive to buy and use, some Tesla owners did use it tho drive in cities , some use it to go dayly to work, many are use from students...
Amazing how this A.M.I. thing is marketed in 9 "Europeon" countries. 1:43

Safety tests how does it stand up (made from port a loo plastic)? , Too hot in summer too cold in winter.Under powered. New golf cart or mobility vehicle? Its not really cheap £7500, could buy decent used car for that price.
