Plus, the industry is noriously shady. Everyone is better off just renting for $300-600 and having peace of mind. Besides, let's say u spend 20k-150k on something, is it worth the last 20 years that you're gonna be alive. No.

The reason I wouldn't buy to live in, is because you may end up hating the place due to bad neighbours, poor infrastructure nearby, constant noise etc. Then you have the stress of trying to sell it. That being said as a former realtor I would suggest to you that if you were thinking about buying a place you would go check out the property do your due diligence make sure that it's not allowed area etc etc... Have to make sure the condo is Foreign Quota and not Thai, you can't buy Thai Quota and the only other option would be a Leasehold, which if you look at the details of aren't good. Only thing you can own without being exposed is Foreign Quota and only condos have Foreign Quota. Homes or Villas are all either going to be a Leasehold and you don't own anything or a Thai Holding Company which has to be majority Thai owed. So forget a buying a house.
