    Hallo,
I own a 1973 Seeburg Fc1 Regency. I have a problem. If I select a song the mechanism will pick the record and read it correctly but only if I select songs on the left side (so the 1xx).
if I select the 2xx side the mechanism moves, picks the correct record but it reads the opposite side (the 1xx).
I have already cleaned everything so contacts are ok. Furthermore if I select records from 170 to 179 it never picks them (it scans them but don't stop and picks the 120/129 ones).
    Can you please help? Thanks.

On what plugs and on what pins do you connect your 120v Ac........ TNX in advance I am new on this....

I eventually got mine working by oiling the moving parts in and around the clutch mechanism. After that it would only play side A of each record so I started the 4 step clutch adjustment in my manual. After doing steps 3 and 4 the mechanism went to pick up a record and everything seemed to jam up. I ended up loosening the clutch to free it up but I still haven't been able to get it to move when selecting a record. It doesn't even seem to try and move.
I should have left alone playing side A.

Hi, I wondering if you be kind enough to be able to assist me with a SS 160 as you have demonstrated in this video? The carraige does not scan, as you have shown with only 110 power going to the mech. Flipping the little lever does make the mech go though a reject event, but it continues to load another record without a scan. The mech is setting to the far right. I am gaining, realizing that the clutch assembly is sticky.. Also I have noticed a difference the the carriage, the one I am working on has an additional relay located directly above the forward/reverse trip switch. The relay actually changes the direction of motor rotation. Thanks in advance.

I have a seeburg ss160 that the carriage finds the record, loads the record, and starts to play and quits. Any suggestions?

The mechanism should stay in the "play" position until the tone arm moves to the center of the record. There's a small magnet on the arm that passes in front of a reed switch mounted on the carriage, which triggers the solenoid that selects between "play" and "scan" at the end of the record; make sure they aren't too close together.
Also, the clutch mechanism on the back of the carriage needs to be adjusted properly to allow the unit to switch between "scan" and "play" reliably; it could be popping out of "play" mode and back into "scan". The manual for your Jukebox should have the specs, will require feeler gauges and some patience.

You did this video a long time ago and I'm pressing my luck here but I was wondering if you could maybe help me out. When you were connecting the mains power is the yellow wire positive and white negative or is it the other way around? If you could let me know I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

The motor is a 120V AC unit, so there is no polarity. All it needs is a standard 120V AC supply, in this case I used a Variac to bring power from a wall outlet up slowly in conjunction with an isolation transformer.

My Seeburg 160 picks up the record fine but rejects it as soon as the needle hits the record. What is the easiest way to get the back of the mechanism to inspect or remove the clutch?

Its ben a while since I've been in this machine, but the carriage can usually be accessed by removing a panel from the back of the machine. Then the whole unit can be disconnected and unbolted for removal. The record holder has to come off to provide complete access to the clutch area.
If it rejects almost instantly, the tone arm magnet might be too close to the reed switch (which I think has a position adjustment) causing it to reject early. That's assuming that the unit flips into "play" mode all the way, and the scan/ play solenoid doesn't fire as soon as the tone arm drops.

I'm working on one & just cured this problem last night. I slid the unit out the back, removed the record holder (8 little screws on bottom 2 on top), removed the clutch. My problem was on the lower shaft there is a part with a spring under it. After you remove the two c clips it should slide out. The part with the spring under it would not move. I had to get it to turn freely when I held the shaft with vise grips. I lubed it and that cured it. I installed it & that part works now. I can flick the lever & it will pick up a record now & play it. my 2 problems now is it is not picking up the record and now new problem is as soon as I plug it in it goes to the right side and wont reverse directions it just goes wild trying to go more right. the paddle looking switch looks ok. be careful when removing the clutch there is a plastic part ( dentent actuator) that is very hard to find. I saw one for sale in france thats it. I broke mine and had to jb weld it back together.
