I wonder if something was broken with your Darkmatter 1440p monitor. I have the exact same one and HDR never did that. Granted i've seen it do similar when i was messing with the MBR and response time settings, so I wonder if that was it. then I'd just toggle HDR off and on in windows and the colors/brightness would go back to normal
Good evening mate! I would like to know if the picture looks sharp when using the ps5 or Xbox on that monitor. I bought it a few days ago and it seems that the rescaling that the ps4 does is a bit bad as the image looks a bit blurry and I would like to know if the same thing happens when you use a ps5 or Xbox. Thanks in advance.
Great job on the comparison review. I’ve been looking a this Monoprice monitor which is currently $214.99, but planning to use it primarily for productivity as part of a 3 screen setup. I’ve read reviews that recommend using Clear Type to enhance text characters but there may also be an issue using Adobe readers, have you tried reading text or a pdf on either monitor? Also I believe the monoprice can be mounted vertically using a vesa stand.
I use the Monoprice for work and I have no issues with text or pdfs. Clarity with the 27” 1440p model is brilliant. HDR is the only thing that lacks. Hope you like and sub to the channel and thanks for commenting!
@@simplebidnessman The Monoprice Dark Matter gets extremely dim when you turn HDR on in the settings. HDR content is very difficult to see because the brightness and backlight are greatly reduced. With HDR turned on you no longer have the ability to control brightness or backlight unfortunately.
@@thedaingeon Thanks for the response. The easiest way to tell is to look on the side of the box; it is printed on the information panel as REV #. LIM is LG and BIM is BOE. If you no longer have the box, you can find the HWRevision # in the monitor's settings menu under SERVICE. Thanks again.
I own this Monoprice monitor, I love it! I have never been satisfied when viewing the UFO test until doing so on this monitor. I was baited by VA panels with their higher contrast ratios in the past but no more! The ghosting/motion blur was always abysmal. VA panels make great TVs and are great for watching movies but they suck in monitors. Soon it won't matter because OLED is becoming more affordable every day.
@@thedaingeon @The Daingeon I almost feel like it looks better just set to 10 bit & SDR. When I enable HDR I feel like it looks washed out and dull. I also don't like how half of the settings grey out for HDR. At this price point I was expecting counterfeit HDR. I consider HDR without any/good local dimming counterfeit HDR.
@@thedaingeon you earned a sub just for that. Darkmatter monitor is currently on sale for 239 on monoprices site. Buying in the am. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
The HP looks like a nice value with the HDR and more professional look.

Since the HP monitor can come with 2 different screens, one manufactured by LG and the other from BOM, I was wondering which version you received?
I will have to check and see, how do I verify? Hope you like and sub to the channel!

I agree the latency and fps is excellent. How do you feel about the HDR with the Monoprice?

Is the HP monitor good for competitive fps games like warzone 2 on PS5? I only want this monitor for warzone 2 lol
Absolutely! It’s fast, bright and has great HDR! Hope you like and sub
was wondering the same thing but for XSX lol
which would you say is better strictly for fps games like warzone 2? i play on xbox series x
The HP works best in my opinion. I use it with my series x and love it. The only thing it lacked was multiple hdmi ports and no usb ports
i appreciate the quick response im going to get this monitor! Thank you and i hit that subscribe button!
There is a 1440p ips 165hz by monoprice for 199 right now
Do you have the link?
From Monoprice or Target 32" Monoprice Dark Matter QHD 165Hz 1ms IPS Gaming Monitor (43548) on sale for $199.99. Shipping is free.
27” is better for 1440p but some don’t mind 32”
Which one has better screen quality?
@@joebidenjr4830 The HP is brighter and the PQ is a bit more sharp.
Been looking for a review on the dark matter monitor. Looks really good. Had to watch in 1.25x speed because you talk sooooo slooooow
Yeah I need to improve that lol. Thanks for the honest feedback! Hope you like and sub
