Flowers are plentiful in Eastern and Southern Africa as the weather there is conducive. Some are grown in the greenhouse as well. And most land up in Holland and other places in Europe. It’s not a cheap business to go into and labour intensive as well as flowers are fragile.

I don't know about other African countries but in Nigeria, we don't use coins anymore; a big obstacle for vending machines.. If a card can be incorporated, it would work in Nigeria

I like the idea of cultivation of flowers because here in Africa we have enough land to cultivate natural flowers rather than going for artificial flowers bought from foreign magazines . In fact I really really like the idea of flower cultivation. Keep up.

Lets also look at the cons and practicality of some of these business in a real situation of African streets before one dive in - Vending machine challenges - Robbery/sabotage and Power cut issues, fake coins the same you will say to the automatic car wash business.
When we do our feasibility studies, pro & cons, business plan etc you'll get it right. With the vendor machine business you approach businesses, shopping malls, private business with waiting rooms even government offices and offer them rental space. Well done madam for bringing these ideas out there.
You're right, or else you hire full time security for every machine because the business will only last less than a year, the day you install your machine is the day robbers already planning to steal and ruin your business.

I agree and especially the retirement home one. Why not have a service that allows nurses to take shifts weekly to care for your elderly parents and they are paid for the month. There is one such service where I live. Much the same way our parents had house helpers to clean and look after us when we were younger while they went out to work.

In my opinion on the vending machine business is that it is a good idea but you need to be specific about where you are going to place them and be sure no one is going to break it and steal stuff from it so that should be a focus point where you target areas where there isn't much crime happening so your inventory is safe being left alone unsupervised.

Hi, thank you for your video. Vending machines have been in South Africa for more than 40 years at least so I don’t think you can count them as one of the first businesses in Africa. All the best.
In most cases South Africa is always an exception. We are mostly referring to the majority
Your confident delivery and pace of speaking is so fascinating to me. I would love to speak so confidently. However I want to highlight a contradiction in the last idea - The way I know automated car washes work, won't the customer need to be sitting in their car in other to drive through the phases of the car washing? So they will not be able to sip a drink at the drink joint while their car is being washed. I think. But the vending machine can actually be combined with the auto car wash. The main challenge with the vending machine would be security concerns -vandalism and theft?

Landbanking is a real big thing right now in Lagos Nigeria, with the New Lagos idea which includes Ibeju Lekki and Epe axis of Lagos presently. A lot of Real Estate company now are even doing the short term investment opportunities called Real Estate Cashback investment scheme where you get 30% upward within 12months or more on your investment It all depends on the company and their terms and condition. Landbanking not a new thing in Lagos
The problem in Africa is that we don't have the foundations to quickly start a business. All these business ideas require a good network of electricity, water, etc. Without that, everything would be very expensive.

Americans love keeping schools of small freshwater fish in glass aquariums. We commonly collect them from all over the world and keep them in 29, 40 and 75 gallon aquariums but theres other shapes and sizes as well. If you can figure out how to breed different small, colorful, freshwater species that stay under 5 inches as adults..exporting live babies to America and Canada or starting a similar hobby/business over there could be lucrative. Small freshwater shrimp, snails and plants are popular too. It's a good way to promote, conserve and help protect african biodiversity as well. Dont over harvest and help protect the environment.

Nice ideas, especially the vending machine, but then i think you don't have to just buy a vending machine and place, what about the products that would be in there, and if its a hot spot the need to restock as well, so you still have to buy products to place in the machine
