  • This video shows how to add a subwoofer to your vehicles stock factory stereo (radio). Also, we will go through running and connecting the power and ground wires for the amplifier as well as how to connect and set the line out converter, including a special trick to figure out the proper speaker wire polarity. The vehicle used in the video is a 2018 Dodge Journey, but the procedure will cover any vehicle as the line out converter is universal!

    Great video, however, I installed my LOC right behind the radio, and I wanted to know if that same method works for cars with screen panels. More modern cars. I’m not familiar enough with them to understand

      Personally, I would definitely do it the way I showed in the video. Typically, pulling two door panels or trim panels will be easier than pulling the screen panel and whatever else is required to remove it (dash, trim, etc)
      Although, both would achieve the same goal. I guess it would be a matter of personal preference.

    One thing I would have mentioned in the video is how to adjust the gain(level) setting on the converter...If the remote level control knob is hooked up and being used...The knob should be turned all the way up while the gain is being adjusted on the converter with either a test tone or familiar song playing with the radio volune around 75% volume...But it would take some guessing and fine tuning by ear to get the converters gain and the amps gain adjusted correctly...An oscilloscope would be the proper route but can still be done by a good ear.

    Can i use a LOC to install an Amp on my 2020 Mazda 6 or do i need another adapter?

      Yup! No special adapter needed

    I did this to my son car and sub/amp stays on for about a minute after he turns the car off. I have the remote wired hooked up also. Is this something to be concerned about? Thanks for the video

    • @Blowncapacitor84
      @Blowncapacitor84  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nope! I was actually gonna mention that but forgot. When it stops receiving the audio signal, it will wait about 60 seconds before shutting off (so if you mute it for a minute, it won't shut the amp off.) Thank you for watching bud!

    if i am connecting the LOC to my rear speakers where will i connect my yellow and blue wire too?

    • @Blowncapacitor84
      @Blowncapacitor84  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The yellow wire needs 12 volt power from the vehicle or battery. The blue is the remote wire and will connect to the blue wire on your amp. The LOC basically needs power to send to the amp and turn it on. It will turn off about a minute after the radio is off.

      @Blowncapacitor84 I already ran a remote wire to my Amp separate from the LOC do I still need to power it?

    • @Blowncapacitor84
      @Blowncapacitor84  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @bassamaann If you ran a remote from the radio, then I don't think it needs power.
