Can I send the speaker out of the factory amp to the factory speakers AND the LOC? Is that dangerous? I assume it changes the impedance and will affect the volume of those speakers but I don't mind that. I want to add a powered subwoofer to the factory system of a 2005 Lexus RX330. Thanks!

I am installing an LOC in my Yukon and I am confused about how to set the output levels of the LOC. I know that the gain on an amp is supposed to be set to the same level of the RCA preamp output voltage, but an LOC effectively creates its own RCA output from speaker levels, and not all head units have the same output levels. I am using an aftermarket pioneer CD player(from 2005, lol) which has 4 volt RCA outputs, all being used currently, and am adding the LOC to the rear speaker outputs of the CD player to gain an additional subwoofer output. I am doing so because I am assuming that if I were to use Y adapters to split the sub output RCAs to 2 amps, it would effectively cut the output voltage the amps would see from 4 volts with one amp to 2 volts each with 2 amps. If that is not the case and amps see 4 volts regardless of splitting the signal, I would not need the LOC after all. Please advise.
Not sure if this will get a response but.... I have a 2019 Subaru that I've installed new door speakers with amplifier, subwoofer with an amplifier, and a plug-and-play android head unit replacement (replaces the entire center console area and retains all factory features). I enjoy the head unit, and the door speakers are loud and clear. But the subwoofer leaves much to be desired. I had this amp/sub setup in a prior vehicle so I know this side of things isn't to blame. The issue I'm having is the sub output is nearly non-existent at low volume levels, and then jumps to nearly max output at the top 10% of the head unit volume. One issue I see is the subwoofer output is a single RCA but the front channel is dual. I was wondering if I switched to a line output converter like this, if it might take care of this issue? Or if you had any other checks or suggestions?
Does wire guage matter for speakers when using an loc? I have 4 6.5in speakers 250w rms 1000w max that ill be installing into the doors. Im running 18awg speed wire from speaker harness to loc. Do I need to run seperate thicker wires from each speaker or will 18awg be fine?
Can i use this to get my factory sub signal and also get full range signal and if so which side do I put the sub signal and full signal? I would be using a mono block amp for sub signal and 4 channel amp for front and rear speakers. Also would I just splice into the front and rear speaker wires to run them to the 4 channel amp? So I would end up with 4 sets of spliced speaker wires
Hello! I have myself a 2 door VW Mk5 Golf so I'm tapping into the rear 2 woofers(speakers) for signal for the Subwoofer AMP and I have a question... for the REMOTE IN where's best to actually get it from? Since I'm doing pretty much everything in the back of the car, even the battery... I wouldn't really want to go to the headunit with a wire for it. I have the regular LC2i. Thank you in advance!
I tapped into my center console cigarette lighter positive to get mine. Fuseboxes also work just make sure that whatever positive you're using is off when the car is off. Using a source that is active even with car off/key out will work to turn the amp on but will obviously keep the amp running until the battery voltage goes below minimum voltage for amp. Also, make sure that the positive has enough voltage for your needs...typically, you'll have enough power to turn on 1or 2 amps/devices via remote in using a 12 v positive.

I have a couple of questions Mark , by using the right and left channel from the rear speakers do you piggy back off the speakers or lose the speakers in place of the amplifier? I ask due to signal degrading and it's effectively changing the ohm's? Obviously losing the speakers to fit an amp for a sub is not ideal would a 4 channel be best as to run the rears off 2 channels then bridge the others for the sub? Cheers

You just splice= (cut back the speaker wire shielding, twist a new wire around the speaker wire, then soldier, and or use electrical tape around exposed wires), do this to both rear speakers, and run the spliced in new wires to the line out converter.

I’m planning to add a sub to my 2022 Silverado non Bose system. I’d like to use the epicenter micro for the high level. Will a LC2i Pro still be needed for accubass
This is a great question! The technical/most expensive answer is yes, they= Ac would recommend both. But do you REALLY need both= i dont really think so, here is why? The Epicenter micro has Bass restoration built in= it takes a sample of the full range freq. responce, and adds in freq. that either are not present, or are very weak, and increases the output by the amount you choose with included ACR4 (2) into 1 Bass Knob.( inner Knob= Total subwoofer Volume control, and the outer Knob= Amount of Bass Restoration you want to add!). Plus the micro is the only Epicenter with A Pfm you can switch off! Pfm on starts limiting Bass output @ 25Hz, and with Pfm set to off= 10Hz!
@@evilinside5984if the "bass restoration" works exactly this way, that means that it may generate completly wrong frequencies and warp the amplitude/decay and delay the frequencies in an unwanted way.

Question: I have to turn up the gain fully clockwise to achieve a max voltage output of 3.9 volts (on LOC). Any ideas why I can not achieve more voltage? I’m definitely doing something wrong as I want to put 5 volts into my aftermarket mono amp (Kenwood).
Are you using both left and right speaker wires, going into the high level inputs? If not, that is why. Also, you can just splice into the wires from both speakers, and use them aswell, just use electrical tape to cover the exposed wire.
Question if I bought the epicenter micro do I also need to purchase a lc2i pro to deal with the stock audio roll off or can epicenter micro deal with both the roll off and bass enhancement?
The Epicenter micro, with the Bass restoration, can compensate for bass roll off, and even adds bass that was not there by sampling freq. above the cutoff of Bass notes. Also has a 2 into 1 Bass knob, outer Knob is for Amount of Bass Restoration, inner Knob is for Total Subwoofer Volume= Awesome, plus its an active line out converter!

Would i be able to run the 12v power line with the one to my sub all the way to the battery if i use the GTO setting so it only turns on when i turned on the volume ?
So what powers the amp? Does the LOC power the amp, or does the wire need to be ran from the car battery?
What typ of loc would you recommend if using a 5 channel amplifier and wanted to retain the fader, left and right control? Great video!
A blue one 😆 jk idk
I remember when i could just wired everything to my head unit and be on my way now that i have a newer car i have to figure how to get factory signals ugh. Thanks mazda for doing bose systems makes things difficult
Need to do a video on the LCQ-1 its a cost effective option
Hey mark ! When running the 4 wires for the R and L from the factory radio to my trunk. What is the best wire to use here ? I ran 16 gauge but then realized I could of just chopped an rca . Thank you !
Super helpful 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽
Question here. If you’re running the speaker input off a factory sub wire, would you just connect them to one set of the positive and negative terminals? Regardless of left or right?
For the 12V connection, wouldn’t you want a switched 12v? Not constant?
Can i use this with big speakers like for clubbing or party speakers
When wiring a loc, can I just jump the wires off the factory speaker and leave my door speakers connected?
I have a 2020 Genesis G70 , I don't want to change my stock stereo , should I buy the LC2i Pro ?
Yes
@@oscarperez-yd9vx yes you’ll need it to boost music signal without aftermarket radio. Lc2i pro will let you adjust music settings in factory head unit while still being able to tune further directly on amp and LOC
So I already have a amp and sub connected in my car with a cheap plug and play LOC but I wanted to know if I get something like the LC2i pro would I be able to add another amp for my door speakers ?
That’s exactly what I wanna do did it work?
Super helpful information, helped me get the right gear that I needed for my truck. Thank you. Was looking at the epicenter to draw signal from my factory radio to my sub amp. Is that an active LOC as well?
Yes, they are active. I recommend the Epicenter micro, because its the only epicenter that you can turn off their Pfm= blocks low freq. ( most AC products with the Pfm is factory set to start cutting bass @ 33Hz, the micros Pfm, when set to on= 25Hz, but with the Pfm switch set to off=10Hz before it cuts bass output), and comes with a 2 in 1, ACR4 bass knob= inner knob controls total Bass volume, and the outer knob controls the amount of Bass restoration you want to add!
On a previous video you showed using a single set of speaker wires from a stock sub set up. Knowing this, can I run a single set of speaker wires from one of the rear doors to achieve the same result?
I have a 2017 Honda pilot elite , I’m planning to upgrade all the speakers to JL c2 and components to the front plus I want to install a 4 channels amplifier to run them and I will like to have the option that I want to add an aftermarket subwoofer later I could . The question I have is which converter do I need the LC2i , LC2i pro , LC6i , LC7i or LC8i ?
The D-4.800 has high level inputs. Is there any real benefit of adding an LOC?
All the AudioControl amps essentially have a LOC built in. The D-4.800 shown in the video is just for illustrative purposes.
I have been looking at the LC8i for a friend who wants to upgrade his Bose system. The benefit with it is that that there is an AUX in feature which is another thing he is looking for. A 2-in-1 solution.
Do you need a LOC for a aftermarket pioneer radio and dual enclosure subs with a 1200 watt amp? This is my first time. I’m just trying to make sure I have all I need for my ram 1500 classic warlock
what if i have 3 amps one amp for my door speakers , one for my sub, and 1 for a rack with 8” mids . would i need to use seperate loc’s or would 1 connect to everything?
What about the kicker keyloc?
So if I understand this correctly, to remedy the roll off we use the threshold knob but this only affects the same music type it was tested on right? Some songs have stronger bass that will trigger it earlier in my experience
In which case you would simply reduce the bass with an attached ACR knob.
@@CarAudioFabrication I've also read from someone that you can maximize the threshold and turn down the amp gain but I haven't tried that yet.
@@tapig3322using modern hu's for music usually sucks if there is a bass hpf on the outputs, best approach is getting an amp with a dsp or a dsp that has at least 2ch's with summing ability and a basic cheap loc to get the navigation sounds vice versa from the hu then sum those navigation and other hu sounds in -12db and use the other source of the dsp or an dsp'ed amp to stream music directly from your phone or a dac/player. bringing the bass back with the whatever algorithm these "bass bringer's" may give off unintended signals and simply act stupid, also although controlling the bass with a knob for each song is kinda ok its still not practical, especially if you want songs to play as the engineer intended.
Can I send the speaker out of the factory amp to the factory speakers AND the LOC? Is that dangerous? I assume it changes the impedance and will affect the volume of those speakers but I don't mind that. I want to add a powered subwoofer to the factory system of a 2005 Lexus RX330. Thanks!
so if i connect the remote in from the loc to the radio and the rca from the loc to the amp is there any other wires i need to connect to the radio
Was wondering do you have to use both left n right speaker wire or can we use just the left only? Would it still work ? Or we need use both left n right?
I need to know this to. I have a factory premium navigation radio that I'd like to just keep since it sounds ok and has a factory subwoofer that I'm hoping will sou d good with a added dual 10in sub box wired into the system. But it's a single 2ohm subwoofer so I don't know if I should use the rear deck speaker leads or he sub wire to just the one input on the loc.
Can you run a 2 channel amp and mono amp off of one lc2i pro? Or only one? Thanks!
@@colinsissons8493 yes I installed this myself using kicker cxa400.1 and lc2i pro and it sounds amazing
What llc would be recommended to connect to a bm54 radio model out of a rangerover and bmw
Hi, I love your content and I’m about to start two project cars. For me it’s going to be the whole deal (DSP, two amps, etc). For my wife’s car I was wondering about adding a small kenwood active subwoofer, it already comes with the speaker signal input, would you recommend using the AudioControl LC2 Pro to feed the sub instead of going straight from the speaker wires? I mean, it’s a powered sunflower from a reputable brand. Thanks in advance
So what do you need a line output converter for a vehicle that already has a factory subwoofer? Or can I just splice and input those to my aftermarket amp?
So i just want to double check If I have a sub that came with my car like stock. In the frame Do I need the converter. Can't I just use the wires that go to that sub since its all ready low signal. To go to my amp for my big sub. Or will I still need the converter
Is the remote feature truly like a relay. In that it only turns on when the radio is on and doesn't drain the battery when the radio isn't on?
Which one do I need for a mono and 4 amplifier in a Ram 1500
Hi, on prower connection, can you connect to the same Amplifier prower together ?
What is the remote wire going to in this example? I thought most people attach it to the amplifier. I didn't see the wire going to the amp so i was confused.
It’ll be great to see a video on a complete sound system for a Tesla!!! 😁
Hello. The rear speaker on my Toyota 2020. Have so low voltage from factory headunit. And low bass.

Do you have to run from the head unit or can you run off the back speakers 6x9 speaker leads?
09 Honda Accord EX-L without Navigation has center sub. Can I just tap in those to wires to the left speaker input off the factory wires? Does have a factory amp, so there should be no issue going right off those 2 wires. Going to check voltage and all that right now with multimeter and SMD Test CD. I believe that it should be fairly easy give it already has factory sub, No?

I have an infiniti fx35, my car has two bose amplifier, one for mids high and other for subwoofer. Do I need 2 loc? The mid high line doesn't have any bass
I wanna run a 4channel for door speakers and a mono block for subwoofer. Do I get a lc7i? Or what do you suggest.
Is it possible to use the factory subwoofer wires to the LOC? I was hoping to replace the stock sub for an aftermarket amp/sub. I would only have one set of wires to connect to the LOC, so wasnt sure if that would be an issue.
Do i need an aditional device if i use the lc7i audio control LOC with a 5 way amplifier to run a full system with 3 ways speakers in the front, coax in the rear and a subwoofer
Cheers
Either or
Remove the rear speakers to get more bass inside through those holes and use those speakers lines straight to the lci2 pro directly.
You don’t loose the power to the speakers. I’ve installed a few active subwoofers in the past just by talking the signal from the speakers, no problems at all in two different vehicles with factory unit.

Hi, Can I connect RCA input and high input to LC1i at the same time?
Stupid question i suppose, but i bought an 80s vehicle and a buddy if mine suggested an LOC to remove the necessity to hook the 12v hookup to my battery so i dont have to go through the firewall. Is this a true statement for an LOC?
Hello. Can you help me? I have active subwoofer alpine SWE-815 but I want to install adapter low high because I don't have rca out in my factory Radio. Can I do this? Thanks
If I tap into rear speakers to get a signal for a subwoofer amp, how do I maintain a signal to the factory speakers from the point at which I connect the LOC?
I plan on doing the same thing. From what I’ve read it shouldn’t effect the rear door speakers but I haven’t tried it
You just splice= (cut back the speaker wire shielding, twist a new wire around the speaker wire, then soldier, and or use electrical tape around exposed wires), do this to both rear speakers, and run the spliced in new wires to the line out converter.
Where does one find the polarity testing tool you mentioned?
Looking to install a sub and 2 speakers to the stock radio. Can I use the LC Pro to control all 3? Do you still need to run power to the amplifier separately or just off the LOC?
A power amplifier WILL NEED ITS OWN POWER AND GROUNDS, or fire may happen!?

@@kingdavid3790 you should be able to tap into music signal wires to send music to LOC then amp and sub from there. In my opinion this is easier than swapping out a whole factory unit
Can you tap into the speakers you are hooking the line out converter to or do you have to completely unplug those speakers for the converter??
You can tap and not have to unplug those tapped speakers, it’s fine
I have a 8 dolla rca converter. Is that OK? I have a f15 bmw x5. Hi fi audio. With its own amp.
Can this be used with a vintage FM AM nob radio ?
So, if you have an aftermarket head unit, you dont need a line output converter at all?
I have a 2020 Corolla with JBL package (garbage). I’m using the Audio Control LC1i to connect an aftermarket subwoofer.
So you connect one rear speaker and one front speaker to the imput
Question if I bought the epicenter micro do I also need to purchase a lc2i pro to deal with the stock audio roll off or can epicenter micro deal with both the roll off and bass enhancement?
The Epicenter micro, with the Bass restoration, can compensate for bass roll off, and even adds bass that was not there by sampling freq. above the cutoff of Bass notes. Also has a 2 into 1 Bass knob, outer Knob is for Amount of Bass Restoration, inner Knob is for Total Subwoofer Volume= Awesome, plus its an active line out converter!

So it’s like your setup on the table but u only have one subwoofer output on the table my car has two subwoofers
Did you figure it out?
But can you splice the wires so you can feed both the speaker and the converter.. or for example, if you just want to add subs do you have to sacrifice two speakers because you can not splice ?
Yes, you can but I recommend removing the rear speakers so you get more bass I side through those 2 holes and upgrade your door speakers.

Only when I use the rear channel separate on the dq61 to a separate amplifier. Thanx.
Because there is delay somewhere in the signal chain. Try using the same signal for front and rear. You will lose fade capability but everything will at least be in time. Or go all out and get a DSP so you can time correct all speakers.
