This song immediately takes me back close to 45 years…My biggest heartbreak. Wish I could go back and sit down with that devastated young girl and tell her everything was going to turn out OK. Still love Boz Skaggs
Funny how we look back at that pain of the past almost fondly with nostalgia and think it was a necessary lesson of life. In the end we are all getting older and those past relationships got us to where we are today. I miss a few of the really good ones that were in my life. I'm sorry I hurt them. I was so young and at the time very foolish.
My father passed away in 1979 when I was only 8. My Mom amazingly carried on strong with just me and my older sister and we still had many good times after because my mother refused to let herself or her children mope. This song reminds me of sitting in the back seat of my Mom's '79 Trans Am going to the beach in the summer of '80 or '81 with the Urban Cowboy 8track playing on the car stereo. Sadly we lost my sister in 1989 at 24. Lost my Mom in 2022 at 77, so it's just me now. This song takes me back to the happier times being in that Trans Am with them both. Makes me feel like they are still with me. Then the song ends and I am back in my current reality. I can never get those times back or experience it again.
It's both a blessing and a curse to have such great memories. My aunt Liz had a 76 Trans AM (if the car was still around, we'd be the same age). It was white, and Tull this day Pontiac Trans Am / Firebird are my dream cars. I have vivid memories of hearing Arthur's Theme by Christopher Cross. Jeff Porcaro (Toto) played drums on this song and Arthur's Theme. My heart goes out to you. I can feel that.
This is Debbie again. I was trying to listen to all these old songs that I’ve loved so much. This one is so great love song I remember it so much in the 80s 70s and 80s the music to me was better than I can’t help it. I tried to find music that I like now and they’re just isn’t any. I wish we had the radio back where we could hear good songs from the radio, Debbie.

Just thinking how much this song means to me .. I was 14 when I met my husband he was 17 .. We dated for 3 1/2 years .. We have been married 34 years and in November our Olds’s son will be 34, our daughter is now 30, and our youngest son is 27 .. God has bless us so much through the years . We had a lot of ups and downs , but not one time did we ever separate , even thought about a divorce . We now have 8 grand babies . Our family has grown and so has our love for each other . He is my soulmate always has been , with Gods help we are the one in a few that has made it through the thing called life and we are still enjoying ours !
That is so lovely to read. Many of us who did the same thing divorced, remarried, and now look back on what failed...Only then do we see the mistakes made.We still survived everything and coped with the changes. You two are so lucky! Blessings. 2020. x

Boz has been a long time favorite , still listen to his albums / CD's often. There are few others that do make the tears flow. Funny how you feel a need for this type music when you've had tragedy at some point in your life. Diamond Rio's One Last Time and " Since I Lost You by Genesis are two that some how soothe the pain and turn on the tear factory at the same time . Another voice is Steve Perry , Journey was never the same after He left !
Boz Scaggs, backed by Toto and David Foster with backup vocals by the Eagles’ Don Henley, Glenn Frey, and Timothy B. Schmit. Can’t get any better than that?
This song gets me every time... Love to all of you, it's in short supply these days. I miss you Tim, I can't believe it's almost been a year... I miss you so much
2020=1980....40 years ago is when this song was released. They don't make music like this anymore. One of the greatest songs of all time. So underrated!
I remember hearing this song when I was young. The years flew by and suddenly I'm 73 and recently celebrated our 51st wedding anniversary. Many things have changed but we're still in love. I sign cards to my husband ILYMTTYBLTT - I love you more today than yesterday but less than tomorrow. Growing old with the person you love is a privilege that too many people don't have.

I'm a black woman growing up in the south in the 80s I fell in love with this song and never knew who the artist was!! but I am still absolutely still in love with this song..puts I me in a place of good history..
Yes he does sound like he might be a black man but as a white woman I fell in love with Luther Vandross, color really has nothing to do with love of great music.
lobohoops Gee---I am old but happy with my husband who is 10 years younger than me.Life is good .We have been married almost 25 years. We both love this music.
lobohoops No, the worst part is being young and never knowing what it means until you're old but there's no time machine available to reap greatest ROI on that time through experienced gain.
Memories are something that can't ever be taken from you. It's amazing how you can listen to a song and it takes you right back to a certain time and place! Love that!!
Sad that songs like these may never be made again. I'm just happy that I was alive when these songs were new and constantly on radio and TV. And that I was able to grow up in all types of excellent music.
I could listen to this song every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of hearing it. This is truly a masterpiece by this incredible artist! Great job by Boz, and every performer involved!
One thing about this song is it was in a era when most music was way better than most of today's music. Secondly Boz convincing way pulls us in the story and holds us captivated
I'm literally in tears 😹 if this is not the most amazing song that I ever heard listening to this song I'm really missing my late husband 2 years deceased but forever in my heart . ♥️
Always told my story since I was 17 pregnant with my soulmates child. Now I'm 61 widowed and one son left, throughout the years all of your songs have lifted ,understand, and pulled me through some tought times during my journey......,Thank You!
This sounds like my story.. I just became a widow not long ago.. daughter in college .. I‘ve been so busy Being a wife and mom that I had not realized how much time has past. This song brings me back quite a few years ago.
When this song came out in 1980 I was uncontrollably and down right rowdy. Always looking for a fight, especially when I was drinking . I was 16 . Thank the Lord I met my wife at the local skating rink one night. We started dating my 11th grade. We married in March of 1983 . This yr we’ve been together 38 yrs . This song is still my favorite and thanks Boz for the memories and this exceptional song.

I first heard this song from the movie, "Urban Cowboy," and loved it ever since. I didn't know it then, but every time I hear this song, I am reminded of how special those times in the 80s were, and miss them.
Listening to this song in 10/23 and it is just as meaningful and beautiful to me now as it was when it debuted. Another classic from the years when music and the lyrics actually meant something. I would never trade growing up in the 60's through 80's for anything,. Thank you Bozz!
Wonder if Boz has a clue just how many hearts he has touched with this song ? The beautiful girl that I relate this song with caused me to fall again died at 51 yrs , 10 months old via cancer doctors . She was my whole world for 32 years and this song puts her with me again to some degree when I listen to it everyday . Thank You Boz Scaggs !

Diamond Rio's One Last Time and " Since I Lost You by Genesis are two that some how soothe the pain and turn on the tear factory at the same time . Another voice is Steve Perry , Journey was never the same after He left !
Me too, Barb. Boz Scaggs was the best. I'm so glad (even though I'm old) I was around when music was so GREAT.
Boz Scaggs, backed by Toto and David Foster with backup vocals by the Eagles’ Don Henley, Glenn Frey, and Timothy B. Schmit. Can’t get any better than that?
¿Coros de los Eagles?? Wowww. No sabía.
everyone's comments ...I'm just sitting here crying my eyes out. hugs to everyone hurting and missing. ❤️💔

2020=1980....40 years ago is when this song was released. They don't make music like this anymore. One of the greatest songs of all time. So underrated!
Agreed!
Who has this kind of talent these days?
And thanks god that they don’t!!!! Its such a frou frou song… 🤮🤮🤮

Yup
Wow! That's a long time ago!!😎

“Take me where we don’t care anymore..”
This song still touches my soul. Maybe one day the right man will find me and love me. Until then, I have Boz.
One never knows what the future will bring. Keep hope alive.
Erik Bartlett .. Hope? Hmm 🤔
Well I'm sure u have a good heart and if you like this song there is a lot more out there hope you find happynes
There is a man out there thinking the same thing, you have to be out there so you both can bump into each other, you'll know it when love hits you. 🙏😊
Hello there Lonely lady I hope your Man comes your way sooner than you think ok😀😀😀😍😍🎆🎆🎆🎈📭
Still in love has such a beautiful ring to it! Awesome! God bless
What an inspiration...........
Congratulations!
Blessings.💕
Lucky you! I am just a few years younger than you and never got that privilege.
I'm glad I grew up when I did.
This song sends me back when life was awesome.
Yes indeed😀
You said it
Hell yea.. It was a great decade! I choose to still live in it.
I agree, Mark. I feel blessed to taste these tunes before the world took an ugly turn.

"2021" This song will never get old..
Be sure of it...
Yes, this song 🎵 will never get old. One of the most romantic song there is.
I agree.
That's right. Oldie but goodies. I love the lyrics.
Ditto kiddo! Loved the movie way back then...and now in 2021...the sound track just as awesome 👌
Makes me feel my late husband in my arms, forever!
Kathleen Shea-Barber I truly respect your feelings.

Love never dies it just transfer.
Me too
I can sympathize with you on that. 💗🙏
I fell in love with Boz years ago, still love him! His music is breathtaking, his voice is like a soft wind blowing through you!
I'm a black woman growing up in the south in the 80s I fell in love with this song and never knew who the artist was!! but I am still absolutely still in love with this song..puts I me in a place of good history..
Audrey Mack Girl...same here
I thought he was black too.
Yes he does sound like he might be a black man but as a white woman I fell in love with Luther Vandross, color really has nothing to do with love of great music.
Think of the Righteous Brothers ?
great songs transcend color
"And after all is said and done. And after all you are the one." Freaking floors me every time.
That's love. Period
Beautiful ❤️
“Take me where we don’t care anymore...”
Same, Frank Sulka….
Love that part too.
Beautiful music never gets old. Esp with Scaggs' perfectly soulful voice ❤❤❤❤❤

GREAT
So true..give me some more Boz..any age, any time at all🎇🎶♾️💜🎼
Hi I can't stop thinking about the sound of it all just makes me think about good things and a beautiful heart
The Worst Part Of Being Old Is Remembering When You Were Young.
I thought it was the best part!
Sometimes....😌
lobohoops Gee---I am old but happy with my husband who is 10 years younger than me.Life is good .We have been married almost 25 years. We both love this music.
lobohoops No, the worst part is being young and never knowing what it means until you're old but there's no time machine available to reap greatest ROI on that time through experienced gain.
You mean you can remember tht fr back
This song brings back so many heart felt memories .
Who's with me on this ?
Yes! Awesome!
That was back in the day!! Love and miss those times.
Memories are something that can't ever be taken from you. It's amazing how you can listen to a song and it takes you right back to a certain time and place! Love that!!
First loves where are you now
Yes ma'am!!!
Listened to Boz when I was 13yrs Still listening at 64yrs
A wonderful time of living ,young ,n in love n enjoying the best era of all music came right from the heart deep in our souls
Simply gorgeous song. My favorite from Urban Cowboy❤️
It’s a top 1000 song and that’s all I will say at least he’s got cool name
Sad that songs like these may never be made again. I'm just happy that I was alive when these songs were new and constantly on radio and TV. And that I was able to grow up in all types of excellent music.
Amen to that
I could listen to this song every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of hearing it.
This is truly a masterpiece by this incredible artist! Great job by Boz, and every performer involved!
I agree!!!
Timeless song. I close my eyes and I'm transported to a beautiful place.
Me too. Love it.
I saw him in concert and he didn’t sing this one…. I was SO disappointed!!!
@@lauravice2961 no doubt! I think it’s his best song.
There's just something about this song.
One thing about this song is it was in a era when most music was way better than most of today's music.
Secondly Boz convincing way pulls us in the story and holds us captivated
Yeah, Bozz's voice
It's love.
Who wants to argue that the 70's is the best decade of music ever
Wasn't this from early 80s??
Not me
60s..70s..80s..yes
The best! Peace out!
70’s and 80’s were the best and always will be. I wish I could go back if only for an hour, I’d give anything.
Brilliantly beautiful written song that will be endless....timeless ...we need more of such songs...Boz you are THE BEST....

What a wonderful and sincere comment, May God richly bless your beloved soul !
This sounds like my story.. I just became a widow not long ago.. daughter in college .. I‘ve been so busy Being a wife and mom that I had not realized how much time has past. This song brings me back quite a few years ago.
David Foster is a songwriting genius. Also couldn't imagine any other artist besides Boz singing this.
boz makes this song "nobody else" thats how good it is with him...
Me either
VRBulletin.com absolutely
Amazing song
Wish Foster was as loyal to women as he is to good music. He was horrible when his wife, Yolanda, got sick. errr.. ex-wife.
I was today years old when I found out that Timothy B. Schmidt was singing backgrounds in this song!
Hope they never end this song💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Hi Chrissy
Song still brings me to tears
Takes me back to a time that's gone forever
When this song came out in 1980 I was uncontrollably and down right rowdy. Always looking for a fight, especially when I was drinking . I was 16 . Thank the Lord I met my wife at the local skating rink one night. We started dating my 11th grade. We married in March of 1983 . This yr we’ve been together 38 yrs . This song is still my favorite and thanks Boz for the memories and this exceptional song.
Congratulations Marion you were married young at 19. Awesome I guess you and your wife are true soulmates.
I was 26 now in 2022 I am 67 remember 1980.

I was 15 when I first heard this song many years ago. I've liked it ever since.
Born in 1967 and the music we were gifted with back then from the 60, 70, 80"s ....... no one can compare .... I love see young kids these days appreciating our music
Born in 1952, loved and will always love all types of music. Grew up in times of much diversity in music. Great music is simply that !!
Yup...WE had it going on that's for sure! How did we do it with no cell phones or internet?
‘ 67 also . ..there hasn’t been any decent music since the mid 90’s
67’ as we’ll. I miss the old days.
I was born 1967 as well
I was born in 1970. He looks like my daddy did in the 80's. THANK YOU LORD for giving me the COOLEST, LOVING, TIME-GIVING DAD, EVER!!!❤ I love you dad, CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU WHEN THE LORD CALLS ME HOME ❤❤❤
Tell me this music alone isnt awesome.....we dont hear anything like this today 🤗🤗🤗
On and on
We either hear someone making a rap album laced with nothing but antisocial Behavior, profanity, and sexual degradation. Or we hear about some country girl down-on-her-luck who has no man who has children out of wedlock and is looking for someone to rescue her. Or we just have incessant screaming and they call that a song. This is real music
Thank you because this my pleasure to somebody here this kind of word is coming from God I'm nothing I like you a special way out anytime any mean is I believe in God and I know that whatever I say is coming to the line because nothing nobody can hide for the same thing that is in a lifetime or we saw everything so we have to believe it like I don't know but people they seem they provided self the power of the body are nothing we are maggots we have to understand the word of God on the bus that he do to be with her he won. Why isnt he in a rock and roll of fame?
I first heard this song from the movie, "Urban Cowboy," and loved it ever since. I didn't know it then, but every time I hear this song, I am reminded of how special those times in the 80s were, and miss them.

Same. Great movie and great song
I Know Exactly What You Are Saying 👍💯
Im only 31 and I have always enjoyed this movie very much..
Have the movie. Love me some Bud & Sissy but Bud made love to beautiful Pam to this song in her hi rise condo and slow danced with her to it.
Listening to this song in 10/23 and it is just as meaningful and beautiful to me now as it was when it debuted. Another classic from the years when music and the lyrics actually meant something. I would never trade growing up in the 60's through 80's for anything,. Thank you Bozz!
This is a great song!! He didn’t have to scream or anything, he just sang the song laid back like he was chilling and it sounds Great!!! I love it!
Exactly
Yes! Never a better classic.

Lyrics
Hope they never end this song
This could take us all night long
I looked at the moon and I felt blue
Then I looked again and I saw you
Eyes like fire in the night
Bridges burning with their light
Now I want to spend the whole night through
And honey, yes, I'd like to spend it all on you
Love, look what you've done to me
Never thought I'd fall again so easily
Oh, love, you wouldn't lie to me
Leading me to feel this way
They might fade and turn to stone
Let's get crazy all alone
Hold me closer than you'd ever dare
Close your eyes and I'll be there
After all is said and done
After all you are the one
Take me up your stairs and through the door
Take me where we don't care anymore
Love, look what you've done to me
Never thought I'd fall again so easily
Oh, love, you wouldn't lie to me, would you
Leading me to feel this way
Love, look what you've done to me
Never thought I'd fall again so easily
Oh, love, you wouldn't lie to me
Leading me to feel this way

This was just sent to me from the most unexpected sources. My mind is blown.
This song hits me to the bones. Closing my eyes, feeling as if I'm romantically dancing with someone I love.
Me too with my late husband💙
The way we met is kind of like the song, we met in an on base bowling alley snack bar in ‘79
Her name was Pattyanne. I moved across the country because of this soundtrack after paying to watch the movie 4 times! She was s'pose to be in the movie as an extra but her 3rd husband forbade it! But, I still found her and her daughters...I paid for her to file for divorce and we loved each other 31 years! She passed in 2017... and I'm STILL lost without her... .
*Man this dude is soooo underrated! WTF?...*
I saw him on a casino tour about 10 years ago. His voice was magnificent.
