Lyrics:
Hope they never end this song
This could take us all night long
I looked at the moon and I felt blue
Then I looked again and I saw you
Eyes like fire in the night
Bridges burning with their light
Now I want to spend the whole night through
And honey, yes, I'd like to spend it all on you
Love, look what you've done to me
Never thought I'd fall again so easily
Oh, love, you wouldn't lie to me
Leading me to feel this way
They might fade and turn to stone
Let's get crazy all alone
Hold me closer than you'd ever dare
Close your eyes and I'll be there
After all is said and done
After all you are the one
Take me up your stairs and through the door
Take me where we don't care anymore
Love, look what you've done to me
Never thought I'd fall again so easily
Oh, love, you wouldn't lie to me, would you
Leading me to feel this way
Love, look what you've done to me
Never thought I'd fall again so easily
Oh, love, you wouldn't lie to me
Leading me to feel this way

My father passed away in 1979 when I was only 8. My Mom amazingly carried on strong with just me and my older sister and we still had many good times after because my mother refused to let herself or her children mope.
This song reminds me of sitting in the back seat of my Mom's '79 Trans Am going to the beach in the summer of '80 or '81 with the Urban Cowboy 8track playing on the car stereo. Sadly we lost my sister in 1989 at 24. Lost my Mom in 2022 at 77, so it's just me now. This song takes me back to the happier times being in that Trans Am with them both. Makes me feel like they are still with me. Then the song ends and I am back in my current reality. I can never get those times back or experience it again.
Thank you for sharing your memories with us.
They both live on in the memories in your heart.
God be with you. Hallelujah.
It's both a blessing and a curse to have such great memories.
My aunt Liz had a 76 Trans AM (if the car was still around, we'd be the same age). It was white, and Tull this day Pontiac Trans Am / Firebird are my dream cars.
I have vivid memories of hearing Arthur's Theme by Christopher Cross. Jeff Porcaro (Toto) played drums on this song and Arthur's Theme.
My heart goes out to you. I can feel that.
Thank you for sharing your story. I pray that the Lord has given you some peace , joy and love to carry on. 🙏
Who else is listening in 2024?
Me and missing the past…missing my parents, my brother and feeling sad my kids are all in their 20’s I miss them.
Me. This is a Timeless Classic ❤
crazy thing is, I just learned of this song today and I don't know how because this is the type of music that I have ALWAYS listened too!!
I have loved this song since I heard it for the very first time.
Still listening in 2024
It is true the lucky ones of us who grew up in the 70s and 80s lived in The best era to be alive musically
It truly was. Music hasn't been music since then 😔 there's no heart or meaning behind what they're calling "music" these days.
@@jessicaballerstadttaylor1975 Other than Adele, I can't think of any new artist that moves me.
This is so true cause that’s when I grew up best musicians ever
Yes its true the best era 70s 80s n the best ever written or sung music from the heart ❤
I agree, the best years of my life was the 80's.
I am a black woman over 50 years old and I still love this song. I woke up singing this song in my head and I had to play this.
I'm 65, while, and wish I could have been there to hear it
Yes true talent
I am a black woman and I am 30 and I think that this is probably one of the most beautiful songs that I have ever heard and it is one of those songs that truly stand the test of time. :)
I played lead guitar for Boz Scaggs from 1979 to 1990. He wrote this song in about 15 minutes just for the Urban Cowboy soundtrack....
WOW!
Amazing. Thank you for your story.
Best movie ever made, big john kills it as always
I thought this song was written by David Foster.
@@davispa4143 yes it was a collaboration..
My bride walked down the aisle with this beautiful song playing. I will never forget how beautiful she was!
Right on ! Peace and love to you and yours !
Awwwwwwwwwwww!!!!! 🎉
You are a good man and husband. Cherish her everyday. Blessings to you both
Was and still is!!!
It's Feb 2024 and Boz has been with me thru more than 3 decades of combat in and out of uniform. The music, it will save you if you allow it to.

I miss you Mom! This was you and Dad’s song ! You died the end of August and I’ll miss you forever

Praying for your comfort ❤
You have my sympathy
so sorry
Just thinking how much this song means to me .. I was 14 when I met my husband he was 17 .. We dated for 3 1/2 years .. I found out I was pregnant when I was 16 1/2 by 17 I was a young mom and he was a young dad . We started out at a very young age . Through the years we had 2 more children , a girl and one more boy ! We have been married 34 years and in November our Olds’s son will be 34, our daughter is now 30, and our youngest son is 27 .. God has bless us so much through the years . We had a lot of ups and downs , but not one time did we ever separate , even thought about a divorce . We now have 8 grand babies . Our family has grown and so has our love for each other . He is my soulmate always has been , with Gods help we are the one in a few that has made it through the thing called life and we are still enjoying ours !
Lesa Sloan Beautiful testimony. May God continue to bless you, your family and your future.😇
Omg... I got tears in my eyes... you are so lucky girl...thank you for sharing.. now I am actually crying.. I wish I had been so fortunate... ♥
That is so lovely to read. Many of us who did the same thing divorced, remarried, and now look back on what failed...Only then do we see the mistakes made.We still survived everything and coped with the changes. You two are so lucky! Blessings. 2020. x
What a great story, love to hear about two people making it and still in love. Congratulations 🎉
💪
This song immediately takes me back close to 45 years…My biggest heartbreak. Wish I could go back and sit down with that devastated young girl and tell her everything was going to turn out OK. Still love Boz Skaggs
Days gone by, never to return, never to be matched ever again. Songwriters + session men - a dying breed!
Truth !
I would have paid to be in that session room to see Boz, Toto and the Eagles. This is pretty much this song. Felder and Lukather playing the guitars, Porcaro on drums, Foster on Piano, Porcaro on Bass, and the other Eagles singing. Good grief!!
sad
Those of us that grew up in the 70's and 80's are the luckiest generations for music
❤
Hello there 👋 how are you ??
Amen to that!!
I grew up in the 70's. Still love the music. Even the 80's music...

And the sixties too!
First heard this in November 1979, when I moved in with my boyfriend, who became my husband in 1985. He passed away at age 54, in 2011. Every time I listen to this, it reminds me of him. I miss you Larry 😘 😇
So sorry , Gb

So sorry for your loss

I'm so sorry.
If this isn't one of the top ten love songs ever, there is no justice in the world.
Music was so much better when we were kids. The radio was full of great tunes all around.
Let's face it people, we grew up in the greatest generation of the greatest music. We lived, we loved, we made awesome memories and the music was
o m g fantastic. Our songs told a story, every time. This song brings wonderful memories, I had a wonderful life in a wonderful time. I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
100% so true

Mr. Hernandez I couldn't agree with you more...yes, men pursued women, women loved men, romance was in the air, and life was so beautiful ❤️
"You nailed it Dan!" The best of the best in music and singers!

When my husband and I started dating, this was one of our songs. We'll be married 39 years next month.

A true masterpiece! Every time I listen to it I am moved to tears. How many songs written today have that effect on you ? Almost none.
Amen Amen
And Karen carpenter's: we've only just begun
Boz has been a long time favorite , still listen to his albums / CD's often. There are few others that do make the tears flow. Funny how you feel a need for this type music when you've had tragedy at some point in your life. Diamond Rio's One Last Time and " Since I Lost You by Genesis are two that some how soothe the pain and turn on the tear factory at the same time . Another voice is Steve Perry , Journey was never the same after He left !
Me too, Barb. Boz Scaggs was the best. I'm so glad (even though I'm old) I was around when music was so GREAT.

love it, gotta have it!
I listen to it all the time I love it
I just turned 58 in October, and am so proud I grew up in this particular era. I got to see all the great movies from the 80's in the theatre, including 'Urban Cowboy', and have a huge collection of fond memories from driving around listening to great music like this with my then girlfriend and now wife of 40 years. Boz is truly timeless.
Okladoma97 I turned 59 on Oct 13 and I'm so missing our era when this and other great songs like it came out.
I’m turning 58 in 4 days. I too feel the same as you. The music of our generation is timeless

@@raymondastacio5975 do you know that amen is actually corruption of the Buddhist chant OM as "jai guru deva om. It's supposed to be healing frequency. The Catholics also use this chant as in "aaaarmen". The Christian religion which is actually based on ancient astrological worship . Christianity is a defacto sun worship cult. The 12 apostles are in reality the 12 astrological signs. The Christian fish bumper sticker represents Pisces which was visible during the age of jesus. 2500 years before that we were in tha age of Taurus 🐂 hence the golden calf in the tale of moses and the Minoan bull of ancient middle eastern and Greek mythology We are currently in the age of aquarius. ..jesus spoke about the coming of "the water carrier" representing the coming age of aquarius.
