A Visit to Emerald City Comic Con 2022

- Emerald City Comic Con (ECCC) is an annual comic con held in Seattle, Washington. This August's is starting to recover a bit. There's still not a ton of vendors, but there is a healthy amount of incredible cosplay and some really amazing comic book creators in Artist Alley. This is a virtual walk through the convention to show you some highlights, ending with my thoughts on the convention and showing you what I picked up.
Thank you for posting. This is a great overview of the con experience. Glad to hear it is okay to say "hello" when you are spotted at a convention. Comic Tropes, and Pros And Cons are the reason my love of comics reignited. So, I am pretty grateful and definitely a fan 🙏🏼😊🖖🏼

Thanks for the peek into a larger convention. They are getting better in our area and now I want to do a similar type video for the next one. Lots of great talent in up here that deserve more exposure.

Wow, as others have said thank you so much for posting/sharing your visit. I was looking for Emerald City Comic Con videos and this one was the first that popped up, and I'm subscribed to ComicTropes but wasn't to this one (as far as I know, though I've been recently discovering channels I know I was subscribed to I'm no longer subscribed so been re-subscribing) as the video started I was thinking / and had to do a double-take woah isn't that 'well you know who' who does ComicTropes. (I was thinking 'is he doing a panel'?! but I'm so glad other fans got to see you enjoying the convention, how incredibly awesome) But anyway, thanks again for such a marvelous well rounded share esp. the Artist Alley / sorry to hear about the stairwell - reminds me of most of the time I'm driving in Bellevue or NE part of Redmond- but glad security got you out / I was delighted to see you were able to get a photo with Chris Claremont and even Camilla d'Errico (was even more so happy when you started pulling her art out of your bag / I've really only seen her work on her socials). I hope you and yours have a wonderful rest of August / and stay hydrated cuz off that weather forecast. : )
I can just imagine security getting the call and they are thinking the place has been open ten minutes how is somebody lost or stuck already
That was pretty much what happened. I was hearing the Price is Right losing horn sound in my head the whole time. But they weren’t mad. They were super understanding.

never been to emerald city comic con only been to multiple lilac city comic con. you should go to one. if you have the time and money to spend.

I recorded half of it before I realized I was locked in. Then after a while called them and recorded what was happening. Ai yi yi.

My local con has a single comics related guest but I might stop in and check it out. It is a general geek convention thing and it isn't in a massive city but I would love to go to a larger event like this one

They need to move ECCC back to the beginning of the year like it was before the pandemic. Normally it's in February/March. 2021 it was in November this year August. Imagine SDCC kept on moving months year to year.
Next year's is back in March. Had reedpop done this year's in March, it would have been a 3 month turnaround from the '21 show which had been delayed until December '21. Now at least vendors and artists get a 6 month break after the 8 month break this year. Much more manageable for everyone.
The show has also never been in February, always March.

Here in the U.S. it's still required at most big events. Stuff still isn't under control.
The state hospital in Seattle is currently over capacity with covid cases.
I had to stop watching after seeing people wearing the absurd masks for absolutely no reason.
