I appreciate you being so open about your struggles with how you look sometimes! Sometimes I feel self conscious in cosplays too no matter how much I love the character, and it really messes with me. This helps me feel a lot less alone, although I am sorry you feel that way. Your cosplays looked amazing, and this vlog was so fun to watch ❤ Thank you for sharing it with all of us!

when you talk about not feeling like you’ve had the time to feel comfortable with your body changing, god dude i feel u. i’m on new meds and i fcking feel you. some days i feel so good abt my new curves and so cute and genuinely love some of the changes and other days i just am confused about the changes and i feel so sh!tty and disassociated. it’s a journey fs and made me just feel so good and seen and understood to hear you talking abt it :,) ty for always keepin it real lol ❤️🩹 you’re so beautiful. I feel you a lot on not feeling great about your own appearance while in cosplay - even though you look absolutely stunning in all your cosplays to me, when you're looking at yourself it's so easy to become super critical. I've also had big changes in my appearance and I've always struggled with my face as it is, and for me it's often when I see photos of myself that I feel the worst! The combo of some camera lenses doing weird things plus not getting posed right and I feel like I look COMPLETELY different to how I do in the mirror!
I think it's extra hard in today's social media landscape as well, where those with faces and bodies that fit the most popular aesthetic (or have the most filters/work done) tend to get picked up by the algorithm, which both means we see them more which skews your perception of the huge variety of cosplayers out there but also makes it harder to get content seen at times. I'm trying to make an effort to get more in the mindset that cosplay is, firstly, about having fun and sharing community, and about setting fun challenges and learning cosplay skills and watching yourself grow in that way! It can definitely be a struggle, but I hope you know how much of a positive impact you have in the community and to those around you!
I completely understand your troubles and worries with your body, I am the same way with mine. I’m a teenager (16) still and I too have had body changes and I’ve honestly been struggling for 2 years adjusting to things and I’m just now coming to terms with my changes. I relate to the hyperfixation thing very much too, I cosplayed Grell Sutcliff from Black Butler for my first convention and I was happy, but in all honesty I struggle to see myself cosplaying her much anymore just from my body, my face is fine. But trust me I completely understand. I’m sure it’ll be a journey to get through this but you and your friends along with your followers will gladly cheer you on through the process. Much love! 🖤🥀
Dude I'm so with you on the self conscious in cosplay thing. The last two or three cosplays I've done I'm so hyper aware of how I look in them and can't enjoy it 😩
I will say I think your Meryl cosplay is definitely one of my favourites. Dark hair really suits you- the color of your Pomni wig is very flattering!

Nearly made me tear up I wanted to hug you so bad! It does not feel good at all to not like how you look in a cosplay and Im happy you made the right choice for you cause I see so many people sacrificing their con experience for others and at the end of the day we cosplay because it is fun, so when it is not we loose sense of everything. Keep doing what you do, you are amazing at it and are so beautiful!!
Got recommended this video right as I was feeling the post-con blues. Sakuracon is my home con and I've been attending since 2002 (back when it was at the airport Hilton). Seeing you and your friends gave me lots of warm fuzzy feeling from my younger days of cramming a bunch of cosplayers in a hotel. I love your energy, glad you enjoyed your time in Seattle!

In 2009, my first cosplay was Rem from the '90s Trigun, part of me wants to redo it after all the years. I haven't seen the new one yet but love the OG to pieces.

I'm sorry to hear your struggles with your appearance when you cosplay. Though i can't know exactly how you feel, I also get really insecure about my appearance when i cosplay sometimes because of how my body has changed over the years. But don't forget that you are beautiful and your cosplays are amazing 💛

You looked so great in your cosplay. I absolutely understand when you say it is hard not to be conscious how you look. It took me quite some time to feel confident when wearing my Boba Fett costume. After all, Temuera Morrison is first a guy (which I am simply not), and he is very athletic (which I am...also simply not.) I also have zero feeling how I look when I try to pose for pictures, so I am also very awkward at doing that (does it help practicing in front of a mirror?).
I was so relieved when I met him wearing this costume and he said he likes it a lot. Okay, I was super awkward - my usual self when meeting people I do not know. Meeting him was so much worse and wonderful at the same time - a dream come true. Okay sorry, totally offtopic.
I totally understand being insecure about how you look in a cosplay. I've had those same struggles as well. Anyway always nice too see how others enjoyed the convention as well.
