    Midway-through, I was about to ask if anyone recognized you and then thought, "Let's watch all the way first and see if Chris says anything about that." Glad people said hello.

    I met Sgt. Slaughter in 2006-ish when I worked for IATSE and WWE did a show at our local arena. It was crazy because I guess he was part of WWE corporate(? I don't follow wrestling) and was wearing a business suit and seemed huge (in fairness, I was sitting down when he approached). I had his GI Joe action figure when I was a kid and could only shake his hand I was so star-struck.

    I'm a recent transplant to Washington and it was cool to see something local in my subscriptions. I didn't realize you were a Washingtonian. You lucked out going on Saturday, the weather was miserable on Friday.

    It was such a great con, I had so much fun. Seriously, that near four hour wait for Kevin Eastman’s signature would have been miserable if it had not been for you, also. You’re a delight to hang out with, and despite the back and joint pain that I still am feeling today, I loved every minute. Thank you for including me in the credits, I means a lot to me.
    Day two for me, I got Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s signatures, my intended photo from Saturday with Alan Oppenheimer, and photo with Sgt Slaughter. I also got two vintage G.I. Joes, also for good prices.
    Good con made great by seeing you, brother!

    Great video, love the music choices lol. Longest line I stood in was at the 2019 Star Wars Celebration in Chicago, at the official merch store their cash register systems were messed up so it took foreverrrr for them to ring stuff up and even just get it.

    7:24 I still can't forgive Sgt. Slaughter for turning his back on America back in 1990. All kidding aside, what in the blue hell was Vinny Mac thinking there?

    How do people here feel about criticizing Heavy Metal Magazine? As a girl growing up, everything was like heavy metal with sexualized naked or half naked women with huge boobs and butts. While shirtless men in comics are more idealized, and I never felt that they were sexy. But it wasn't something I could relate to or feel comfortable with, because it's just too much objectification.
    I understand if your a straight guy that isn't going to bother you, in fact the opposite. But I felt excluded and maybe other girls did too.
    A couple of years ago, the magazine put some clothes on a recurring character and the fan base flipped out.

    Hope that long line means Eastman is doing OK financially these days after the hard times due to trying to help other comics creators with Tundra (and a few other bad financial decisions like buying a tank).

  • @MrPinpoint007

    I don’t see why they charge extra for certain signatures. I mean, I see “why”, but it doesn’t seem right.

    • @ProsAndConsLive
      @ProsAndConsLive  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Not every creator does. But the biggest guests do because, honestly, there's so many folks lining up to get them that it helps to cap the line a little bit.

    • @johnnyyu9882
      @johnnyyu9882 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve seen someone with a stack of animation cells (probably at least 50) who asked Bruce Timm for a signature on each one. In 2017 he didn’t charge. But in 2018 he did charge $5 per signature and understandably so. Heck I wish he charged more per following signature, like free for the first one, then $5 for the second, $10 for the third, etc.

    • @MrPinpoint007
      @MrPinpoint007 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ProsAndConsLive I used to go to major cons in the 90s. Usually there was some limit on signatures, and sometimes they would only sign the new book or product they were promoting. I do recall some of the old tv stars charged for photos.

    • @MrPinpoint007
      @MrPinpoint007 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnnyyu9882 yea, that’s doesn’t feel reasonable. They should limit it to 1-2 if there is a line. That guy was probably just trying to resell the cells.
