It was when other city council members came to protest her house that she needs to resign for not being more woke.
She then stopped it. And made a statement that, basically another concilperson with different views calling for her removal was unacceptable. She got that job for being openly lesbian because the openly gay mayor didn't work out because of pedo charges. The same council was later known from their having brought a Trans stripper to strip during a luncheon to stop the homelessness.

I went and checked it out for myself (novel idea). Burgers and hot dogs with actual meat were being being offered. Most people there aren't staying the night, they go home. As a local I've talked to many people that haven't been there but they are donating money and supplies, even by those that don't agree with the occupation. Well, it looks like CHAZ CHOP is coming to a close. I 'm just glad it went on for as long as it did, the world got to see how a more defunded police zone could work. Don't get me wrong, there are some things that need to be tweaked, but as far as what defunded police can look like for some states, this is more or less an example.

Nah, that won't work. They don't mind living in tents. Just have a seige like has been done in the past. Have 5 or so military helicopters dropping 100,000 leaflets saying 24 hours to leave after which time the only way you will leave is to a prison cell. Give alternate accommodation to any genuine residents if they are there. After the 24 hours no food going in they will all be out in a few days.

Back in '13 there was a similar occupation in my country's capital. Very much a stone throw away from our Parliament (kinda like the Capitol Hill). I was a part of the community and the events there. I frequented the site and ultimately got to know and befriend the organisers of the occupation. The protest was supported semi-officially and some say organised logistically by the US embassy. It carried on for months, half a year if I recall. Essentially all our food, medicine, communication equipment, sleeping bags, tents and policing gear and other equipment was provided by a single lawyer, that was involved with the US embassy (I remember some of the items had "US property" stamped on them XD). His actions were widely recognised as a thinly valed front for the US embassy, so they had some albeit minimal distance from the events.
My point is that these "serendipitous" "spontaneous" and "natural" protests are rarely any of the the three, hardly ever and the real question here is who is behind them. If the level of complexity and organisation is to the level advertised, you can be sure that some outside force had a helpful nudge or shove to make things going. Now this could be a foreign power - China is a prime suspect, considering the slogans and left leanings of the people of the protest, but in all honesty this could just as easily be a domestic power, such as the Democratic or even the Republican party or other. You can't know unless you are there and really dig. Besides starting trouble in a third world shithole - nobody would mind, but start shit in the US... You better cover your tracks well. So finding proof or evidence of meddling will be tough. And yes sure this is pure guessing. I don't know who is behind this occupation, but considering the US's foreign policy this sure is poetic irony.
As for the doc itself - it's shite, rarely have I seen a more rushed and one sided piece. You could just rebrand yourself as their "state" propaganda channel. Jesus it's shite. I have a friend whose very close to that location and checked out the place... mostly their response is that CHAZ is being united, less brutality, and focus on Black Lives... but as someone whose outside of that I really don't think that's the whole truth :(
There is propoganda going on, majority in the community won't show violence even though there is. No police in the location, but there are people who are policing in that area.. no food from government, but food is being brought by people ordering food from companies that pays taxes to government and stores that is right at or in the boarder zone have been looted because of the community needing food. The garden is soo sad, no one knows how to plant plants or know enough that it takes time and labor to do it as well as motivation. I could step in, but if they want my camera or phone for the communities safe zone, that's not giving me freedom to really show what actually goes one. I don't trust handing my babies (cameras) to others or having people follow me to make sure I'm only showing the good things and not the bad.
This entire situation is ridiculous and sadly funny, because US is supposed to be a free country, but in this small group they want to be a third country.. it's like Animal farm happening within a freedom country.. I can see a lot of Third country actions going on in this community..

It's so difficult to form a real opinion on this. I hear what they're saying, but I almost feel like I should make the trip out there and talk to people, one on one. My biggest fear is that it won't last.....the peace will collapse within the borders. Right now I would feel safe entering there, without having to watch my back, but how long will that last? I believe things need to change, but these types of changes take time. Bottom line is you can't please everyone. It would be great if everyone could just look at each other equally, but it'll never happen. There will always be ignorance and hate, but I believe we can make most of that go away.
