That brisk - orange sun puffing through the smoke with the corn, the green grass und trees is utterly compelling.

Since reenacting has been wiped out by the virus it is good to watch these, helps remind me the action and fun of the hobby, and the thrill of battle and musket smoke.

I hoping if the virus ever calms we'll be able to reenact once again I'm new to the hobby I just purchased a two-band Enfield.

@@danielburford1441 Awesome, and not a bad choice in rifle, funny enough that was going to be my rifle but I twisted my dad's arm and for $17 roughly more at $607 and change I got the '61 Springfield still new and wrapped in plastic at the Sutler tent that was selling civil war arms along with uniforms and other gear.

@@jesseusgrantcanales Yeah I was shocked when I found it. I had been wanting one for four years I didn't want to have to pay $900 for one.

Did they have cannabis in the South and on campaign? Probably. Laudanum? It was all legal in the Civil War era.

Some soldiers were eerily joyful in combat, those who survived in diaries wrote of how it was at times like a game or sport, describing horribly the pleasure of killing another soldier in graphic ways. Combat then and for all time since war began, either makes you afraid, or a joyful murderer.

Reenactors and reenactments are far more profound than actors and their enactments. Unless its reenactors acting in a Civil War film of course lol. Which is great as long as they are not too fat lol.

@@jamesrichardson3322 yes you could. Plenty of campaigners do mainstream events.
In my unit (mainstream) our 2nd Sgt is a campaigner and we have some privates that are as well. My gear is almost at entirely campaigner quality but I never plan on doing campaigner events due to the time it takes. Sometimes whole, or mostly, campaigner units will show up to mainstream events we do.
