    I wrote a memoir. I like how he talks about the clarity he got from writing his memoir. The memoir writer is able to reflect and this year around the holidays I am thankful for memoir writing, poetry writing and having a blog. Also for who I am and my pride in my Black identity.

    Eddie Huang gave an excellent takeaway here - Race is a construct - You can’t objectively say what race does what, what race says what, what race do this does that acts like this, its a construct. People stand up for yourself and let yourself define what your race is.

    You are right. When the press writes about race it is always along a black and white color line. Or they frame all of the questions along this line. And it doesn't resemble real life. Especially life on the west coast.

    Chinese Americans abroad is very different from what everyone thinks as "going home". It's more conflicting than it immediately appears.

    • @tiffanykushner821
      @tiffanykushner821 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not exactly clear what the goal is for non-Asian-Americans what value it holds. Because this is probably something transcending society's expectations.

    Funny, going to law school just for the fun of it, only in America, the ticket to acceptance. This guy could not be more American if he tried. Not sure about the black/white thing. You have Italian-American culture as well, like godfather, pasta, pizza etc.

      should African Americans bein offended if jokes are made about them being good at sport? People like you are like being snowflakes being hurt at the slightest hint of being insulted.@@dananajj

      @@dananajj How am I hurt? I'm defensive of Chris Rocks joke not my own feelings? Again please explain to me how a seemingly compliment can be taken as an insult. Seems like you're so anxious to play the race card you and your ilk jump on any opportunity turn an innocent joke into a racist expression.
